These were just some of the scenes of a disturbing multi-disciplinary raid launched by the City of Johannesburg’s environmental health services, involving City Power, the JMPD, the CRUM department, Building Control and the Department of Labour, that took place in a building in Fulton Road, Industria This warehouse produced food goods.

I don’t understand someone’s mindset to go through all the trouble of acquiring and setting up these super expensive production machines then after everything decides to skip on the health and cleanliness of the operation which should be the easiest part to follow if they just cleaned up after themselves.

It's lack of self respect and pride in their work. They could have started by renovating the place to look like a modern factory. The same shoddy structures they build in SA are the same structures they build in Pakistan.

well, it certainly cost an order of magnitude more money to arrange and maintain an actual food production facility up to standards, the packaging machines and simple production lines do not cost much, and it is to be expected the workers were probably not declared, that is how they could make good margins, not much expenses, no taxes. To be honnest, compared to pakistan "factories" it is pretty clean and organized, of course compared to us in west Europe this is far from standards.

To be honest, im jealous of how they made a living for themselves in front of us, yesterday i came across a stat that there arw more then 2.6million of their shops in our neighborhoods , looking at their warehouse regardless of the conditions it made me think us as South Africans alone I doubt we would have even reached such a step of even having a warehouse were we produce our own food. We will never reach a point of change because we rather write about it then really come together and force the removal of these shops and those who have money in our communities fund these shops so that they are occupied by us and we know regulations will be followed

We like to unite in breaking things down but when we have to build in that same unity we are missing in numbers
We have so many loopholes of lack of unity brotherhood sisterhood and family values in south africa that it makes it easy for other ethnic groups to capitalise on that, I doubt we would flourish if we were in their countries 😢

If we can abandon the slavery of debt buying houses and cars and a lot of unnecessary. Paying a bank for 20 years just for shelter while our economy is control and our complete dependence is on minorities, foreigners and government for jobs. Black earn a lot of money we can build industries and huge farm to feed the entire Africa instead all that money goes back to white banks paying for houses and cars really sad

I think these people had a very serious set up there... I would dream to have a set up like that....I mean machinery...but I think "stinginess" is what made them not go thru proper channels ...with relevance to health...all they needed to do was look for a proper place with all the health certification...

Good heavens and they stopped me from baking because I had an aut washing machine in my very large kitchen.
The baked goods went into the next room with shelves where they cooked and were decorated and then packed everything clean and tidy. Cannot believe it

A good government that cares for its citizens would have closed all the foreign owned shops and sent thes people back to their home countries. This government is even nit awarevof the threat these people pose for this country. There are big guys who recruit the Pakistanis to run spaza shops and raise mony for Isis. Our intelligence services are almost non existent. We even have a useless government that cannot do anything. Only the lone Minister of Home Affairs can see this and tries to take action but what can an individual minister do when everyone in government has their eyes fixed on corruption.

@@sizwehadebe8469correct most of this kind of cheap food is either Pakistanese, Bangladeshi or Chinese. That why I always look for a known South African brand when I buy any food.
