Absolute pleasure. They are my favourite vids to make, and even though we don't recce and we don't always get the cars running, the idea is to take you (the viewer) on the journey of discovery. I get dirty so you don't have to!
The favourite of all time is the Hillman hunter and the (GLS) Humber sceptre of because hunter won the London to Sydney marathon car Rally championship nothing else can beat that 🎉🎉😅 Iran still has payaks or Hillman hunter GLS utes powered with Puegoet 1600 cc
Johnny, I'm a fan from Iran. Even though TH-cam and the whole bloody internet is censored in Iran, I always watch your videos using VPN & I love them. They're very interesting and entertaining! Keep them up!
This for me was one of the best Late Brake Show videos yet. All the usual barnfind ingredients are here, but seeing Johnny and Greg work together, with a shared passion for respective cars that are important parts of their history is incredibly heartwarming and your dynamic is lovely to see. Well done guys, keep the content coming, it’s massively appreciated by all us subscribers 🏆
Listening to you on S&S talk about Greg (noting it’s carte blanche as he will not listen), and seeing you here, you can so see your relationship! Lovely brotherly bond. Really nice.
Having Greg in the video just makes it even more wonderful Jonny - I would love it if he decided to resurrect the P5B, though not sure what Mrs Greg would make of him keeping the exhaust under the bed again! 😂
Perfect to forget about a Monday morning. Loved the bit where you are both sat in the P5 reminiscing about them and P6s. Heartwarming genuine moment. Great series. Many thanks.
Great to see your brother in action. Also, Im always amazed to see how often the part needed to get the car running is sitting in the drivers seat, the boot, or on a nearby shelf. Or in your brother's case... under the bed!
Jonny Smith the videos are spot on, the barn finds especially are wicked You need to get your brother on the videos regularly its a good combo Keep up the great work
I enjoyed that, another cracking episode! You lads work well together, it was good to watch. Need some more brotherly collaborations for the barn finds. I'm probably not the only person that thinks Greg needs to get that P5 bought.
My dad had a P5B Coupe back in the late seventies. That had Irvin belts front and rear and definitely wasn't a government car as he was the second owner and bought it from a friend. It was a fabulous car and I wish we could have kept it.
Great episode. I used to do car valeting late 80s/ early 90s and I had two regular customers, one with a yellow 2CV and another one with the green/white Dolly as per this vid, great memories. Quite an easy car to clean, the shape of the wings etc, sad I know but seeing this video brought it all back, great stuff.
Another great barn find episode. You and your brother are great to watch. Wish the p5b had started. Agree with you that the b was a better car but I have lovely memories of my fathers 1960 3 litre p5. Vuj 593 became 108 lmn when we imported it to the Isle of Man 🇮🇲.
Just bought me a P5B. Flipping love it. Much work to do but the burble is irresistible. Feels like I should be hoovering up toddlers when I drive it. Called it Christine 😂
I love the vids with you and your bro in, they are so good. Love the P5B that will make a lovely car again once rebuilt. They really were a lovely place to sit, they certainly make the passengers feel like royalty. 👍🏼
I had a bit of a jaw drop moment when you opened the garage door on the Rover P5. One of my absolute all time favourite British cars. Even dusty and half under a tarp it still has some menace.
I reckon half these people just get in touch so they can get their garages cleaned out! 🤔😂 Great vid Johnny & Co, loved how happy the Dolly was and the Rover was a beaut. Keep them coming! 😎
This is great, i honestly thought to myself this morning it would be great to see a new barn find video. And lo and behold here is one. Thanks Johnny they’re brilliant
A great Barnfind episode and very enjoyable with Greg, I think he should be a welcome addition to the channel, very knowledgeable and methodic in his approach, I bet he wants a P5 again 😂
👋 Hello. I'm viewing from New Zealand. Great barn finds, and all worth restoring. It's sad looking at these cars as they are, they all have seen better days. The Volkwwagon beetle would be a late 1970s model judging by the large rear lights on it. The Citroen CV2 Dolly should come up good with a wash.
Back in the early 70s, as a student, I had a weekend job selling cars. A River like this one came in and it looked fabulous in two-tone grey with a painted coach line and beautiful wheels. I could choose anything on the lot to take home, and this particular Saturday night I headed out in the Rover. Looking at the logbook the real beauty of the car revealed itself - it’s previous owner was Sir Matt Busby! As a mad United fan I should have done anything and everything to try to buy it. The following week it was sold and I was forced to take home the Lancia Zagato Sport.
Best barn find yet Jonny!! Gregs input is always worth a watch and he even cracked a smile. I'd sell a kidney for that P5B, on that side of things. Keep them coming.
It says something about the confidence the British motor industry had in its own products when the tool kit had pride of place within a dashboard holster
Jonny, as always, a fun, entertaining episode. I know your brother does not like being on TV, but he's always nice to see on the show. Loved hearing about what went on when growing up
Another great barn find. I’ve a feeling that the Dolly came from Border Motors in Saltney. The prefix DM indicates that’s where it was registered. I hope the Rover can be saved and the Dolly. I’d guess the beetle will be used as a donor car.
Fantastic bf episode Jonny and Greg was great too..I knew you'd get the 2cv going, nicely done! What a property and back story. Never stop these vids, they're superb, I never want them to end, thanks
Great video with your brother, amazing the 2 CV fired up! Love the Rover P5B, remember helping my neighbour with his 3 litre, when I was a lad, to replace the big ends, the beginning of my spannering! Also had a 1966 1300 Beetle which I got when I was at college, had 98k on the clock, and I took it up to 165k and sold it for more than I paid for it a few years later 😎 Happy days when cars were fixable by the common man 👍😂
Brilliant brilliant brilliant! ❤❤❤ What a wonderful barn find episode! Shame about the beetle and p5b, but that Citroen! It still wants to live another day. Guessing the FS in the strimmer stood for "Fine Strimmer" 😂
, loving the barn finds. I would love to stumble over a find. But there again I have my own classic that I have been promising the wife I would finish. 1972 rhd Fiat 500l just needs painting and putting trims back. It's only been in my garage for 25 years.. One day I will get around to it. Nigel
I remember as a young mechanic, driving round in a company P5b, dark green and Rostyle wheels, in 1969. Listening to the V8 sound and imagining that I was in the film Bullitt. Loved that car ever since.
There was someone in my home town who had an old 70's Bedford Ambulance for some reason, that they painted Black with a Brush, I think they used Hammerite though! You could see the brush strokes from 10 feet away! 😂 They were 'The Shady Family' in our town, every town has them!
Great to see Greg finally, you mentioned him on your podcast , that he prefers to work on vintage pre war cars, ?? not newer cars, "on that side of things." hope hes on future episodes , very enjoyable as always Jonny. Many thanks 👍👍🙌
Can't beat a barn find edition & with Greg as well 🥴😁 Such a shame the Rover was ceased ☹️ not surprised you got the dolly working lol & even the state of the Beatle it was 50/50 you get that going 😁
Jonny is an amazing petrol head inspired journalist, then you have Greg, Jonny's brother who is quite obviously a brilliant mechanic, if we didn't know they were brothers you definitely guess so. More more more please
Terrific stuff Jonny, it's a pity the P5 didn't run. Lovely to see you and your older brother collaborating: if you do more episodes together, you could call it the Smith n Smith podcast...
These barn find videos are like giving the brain a small holiday every time. Thank you so much for doing this
Absolute pleasure. They are my favourite vids to make, and even though we don't recce and we don't always get the cars running, the idea is to take you (the viewer) on the journey of discovery. I get dirty so you don't have to!

@mariusml that's the perfect description. Couldn't agree more

Absolutely 👍idea
Yeah he is a great addition to the barn finds! Super knowledgeable and hands on!
@@aDaWaN and he's wearing proper attire
Yes! - imagine being a teen and your brother rocks up in a P5. Coolest brother ever!
He was great, but please tell him to pull back a little on the emotional displays - he very nearly smiled there for a moment :)
Johnny, I'm a fan from Iran. Even though TH-cam and the whole bloody internet is censored in Iran, I always watch your videos using VPN & I love them. They're very interesting and entertaining! Keep them up!
Love that this channel has such a reach! Bet you've never heard of most of the cars featured in this series?
He’ll do a podcast live from Shiraz
Hi brother, glad you like our addiction. 😂
Brilliant Barn find episode. Yourself and brother looked as though you were having so much fun. Keep up the good work.
Thank you, we had a fantastic day. Felt like old times.
@@TheLateBrakeShow would love to have the pair of you as regular barnfind hosts.
That 2CV sounded like it was ready to drive out and skip about! A true little farm vehicle.
This for me was one of the best Late Brake Show videos yet. Thanks so much, that's really kind.
Agreed. The way your brother says his thinking process out loud when eliminating faults was really helpful and engaging!
Listening to you on S&S talk about Greg (noting it’s carte blanche as he will not listen), and seeing you here, you can so see your relationship! Lovely brotherly bond. Really nice.
Jonny and his brother Greg are now the unofficial Sherlock Holmes/Dr Watson of Barn Finds
More like Dempsey and Makepeace! - Only kidding
Greg is a legend and both of you working together made for an incredibly entertaining episode. Please get him on again if possible!
Greg needs to be in more videos please very knowledgeable and very calm whilst tinkering on the engines good addition to the barn finds 👍🏻
You need to get your brother a fleece for the next one. Also, he needs that rover in his life
Lovely to see how you both work together.
Also nice to see that you brother came prepared with a mechanics coat and not a fashionable fleece.
These barn finds are among my favourite things to watch, all down to Jonny he's just a great presenter,
He sure is!
Jonny's face of disbelief as he says "It's household gloss" had me in stitches😆
Good to see your brother again. People who know their stuff always come across well on camera. Be great to get that Rover running
Having Greg in the video just makes it even more wonderful Jonny - I would love it if he decided to resurrect the P5B, though not sure what Mrs Greg would make of him keeping the exhaust under the bed again! 😂

Your brother needs to be part of the barn find Eps if he wants to be great episode 😎
I like your brother's fashion.
Your brother needs his own channel where he restores/part restores some of these Barn Finds. I'd watch it!
I’d love to see Greg on all Barn Finds now, preferably in that overcoat. Terrific stuff.
WD40 sponsorship, woohoo! The Charger will be extra shiny this year. Another great film Jonny, you’re on a roll.
Had forgotten about the Dodge's secret shine/scent formula Ed. Also, just realised that WD40's HW is San Diego, where I bought the car from.
Just need to add duct tape as the next sponsor and you've pretty much got all bases covered 😂😂😂
I can't think of a more appropriate BF sponsor than WD40
@@AdamJRichardson what about Holts... the people who make Easy Start? 😆
He could paint the charger and it would actually look nice and owned and not abandoned

Great episode for someone who's first car was a Beetle and at 21, traded my really clean 2.8i Special Capri for a P5B Coupe!
I hope you can do more of these with your brother. You are a great double-act.
Jonny, your brother is a absolute legend for buying a P5B at 18/19! Insurance must have been easier back then!
Would love to see a "Follow Up" series on this channel about the barn finds, if someone bought them and restored, if they got scrapped etc.
