    This is a great solution
I have a Minnkota Terrova on my Tracker Pro 170, im concerned about the amout of play your trolling motor mount allows. That thing is moving all over the place and I think it will damage the front of the boat. I used a fiberglass removable trolling motor mount and there was some play and the welds at the front of the boat pulled apart and I had to have repaired twice. I think you will experience this in the near future if not addressed.

Mine has play because it's on a quick release bracket where I can slide the trolling motor off and on. Also the quick release bracket is mounted on rubber bushings, which gives it a little movement.

I did the same thing, but I made the clamp at the motor hold the carabiner at the side of the motor (right at the base of the shaft), so when you raise the motor the transducer cable hangs down between the trolling motor cradle. Works like a champ and doesn't give it a chance of the cable hooking the side of the cradle. My minn kota is a little older though!

I’m battling this as well…..actually this entire motor has been a nightmare. I had to replace the steering collar which is a nightmare. But, while in there, I decided to shorten the shaft which was up WAY too high, and directly in my casting zone. So, I got all that squared away, but my motor wound up cutting into my transducer cord, so out came the sobering iron, with for wire that small was a pain as well. UGH! So, now…ALL that is fixed, and I want to get a solid, clean solution for that damn wire. This looks promising. Did it hold up on the water?

That will work Don because I did my tracker that way and works fine.

Just a thought. Is there room between the prop assembly and the shaft to maybe put some kind of a ring that the carabiner you have connected to the prop can hook up to to kinda allow the cable to rotate freely without it wrapping on the shaft? Kinda like the loops on a flag pole that-keeps the flag free from wrapping on the pole.

That’s a GREAT idea if a ring can be found that would fit….

remove the head of your terrova, slide the head off then push it out of the lower motor on the shaft. stick your cable thru opening and silicone it to the shaft in the grove, now put shaft back in the motor and into the head. lay a bead of caulk in the shaft grove and set the cable in the caulk and rap cable ties all up and down around the shaft and cable at every three inches
. Let dry over night and then
remove all the ties and now wire the cable thru your head and route the cable to the gragh.

How are u supposed to go up and down if u have zip ties and caulk all up and down the shaft

I’ve seen several other videos on here that use the cable system.

I use curly phone cords instead of zip ties to hold cables together

Your motor is going to fall off the bracket

I’m seeing that it’s been about 11 months since you’ve posted this video. How has this worked for you since installing it? Is there anything you would have done differently?

It worked fine but I decided to just go back to the transducer in the trolling motor since depth and temp were all I really cared about.

@@OutdoorswithDonandBob Question, does the Terrova transducer show fish?

Yes, but I don't know about all years or models.

What happens when the bike cable gets tight?

You really got to bolt down that trolling motor better, it shakes WAY TOO much

It's on a quick release and has rubber bushing under the quick release.
