For the most part, I think it would be fine. I didn't see any issues, but I won't rule out the possibility of things being loaded in just the perfect way to scratch the laptop.
Ah yes, a lot of bag was designed with this BIG mistakes. The strap was to allow both left / right use, but now the pocket is upside down, which defeat the purpose.
