(no fr, if I didn’t come from a bit of an objective pov, these would all have been up there. I’ll just be sitting and brady armstrong jumpscares my brain)
This really unlocked some of my favorite childhood memories playing these games with my sister! Bluemoon lake was always my favorite! I'm sad I missed out on some of these later games. Great video!
The secret of the old clock is one of those weird ones that I love the setting and hate the puzzles. As a Nancy Drew book fan (go libraries!) I loooove the historical lessons about 1930s America.
No fr I fully agree. I should’ve made a better point that I don’t really have any gripes with the story or setting but it really is just those puzzles man… felt way more childish than any before or after it
I've never played a Nancy Drew game in my life, but you've definitely made me excited to try!! Great video! I just subscribed, and I can't wait to watch your playthroughs.
Thank you YT algorithm! Heck yes! No spoilers: I played Secrets can Kill back in the day, it was a two disc game which was honestly INFURIATING. Aunt Eloise’s house/The Diner and one spot in the School were Disc 1. The rest of the School was Disc 2. Love finding a fellow Nancy Drew fan!
Very thorough! Ghost Dogs and Shadow Ranch would be higher on my list if it weren't for picking veggies and finding birds and bugs. Idk why, but i severely dislike those chores. I just played Ghost of Thornton Hall on my channel and found out there are three different endings! Recemmend another ND game for me to play!
hehehe veggie picking definitely was something to get used to again 💀 And honestly anything from B tier up to S is definitely worth playing but try White Wolf if you haven’t!!! Such a good world to explore
My neighbors just heard me cackle 7 diffefent ways cause walls are thin. The way I used to just chill in the subway in Shadow at waters edge especially after seeing a "ghost"
Just went back through Secret of Shadow Ranch on stream recently! Was very fun to visit again thinking curse of blackmoor manor will be next for me. thanks for the comment!
Came across this vid and couldn't help but comment! These games have been a part of my life since i was in middle school and ive enjoyed seeing so many new/younger generations getting into playing them! Ive played all 33 and want to play the newest one that recently came out. Im particularly nostalgic for TRT because that was my first game, but i also looove SWE because i lived in Japan for 4 yrs as a teen and that game feels like coming home to me💜🖤 Also...yes we all agree MiD is well...mid. True story, the first time i went to my friends house to play the game, i found out that there was a character stuck in a t-pose..you can see it through one of the windows!! It really is a shame how bad the series tanked, but im hoping the newest game will be better.
You lost all credibility when you didn't place Danger on Deception Island in S-tier. 💔😭 I may be a bit biased as that was my introduction to the series but I genuinely do love the story, characters, location, and the top tier music. 👌🏻
My first was treasure in a royal tower second was secret of the scarlet hand and those are forever my favorite. This was such a good video for some reason in my head there are like 5 games in the series so loved this so much
Took your advice and streamed some Secret of Shadow Ranch for the channel! Will have a vod playlist for the streams and you can turn it on as you're winding down for bed, good for background noise lol. Thanks for the suggestion!
I loved this❤ nancy drew games are in my top favourite games and i cant agree more with shadow ranch being awesome!! But i still cant pick vegetables for shit lmfao😅
I played Labyrinth of Lies fairly recently and was weirdly into the concept of the play they were doing. Like I literally paused everything and read through it, and then listened to the rehearsal tapes lmao. I think the ending was rushed and anti-climactic, and I think the flaw with many of the games is that they make it look like a lot more is going on, when in reality the conclusions are Scooby Doo level goofy 90% of time. I think the mess that is The Shattered Medalion's ending was their attempt to do something more with the story, but it got a bit too convoluted. Anyway, ND writers are insanely good at characterization and world-building, and that's the reason I personally play the games, I just enjoy an occasional sudoku while I explore the messy drama between characters lol. (Also, how coulld you not give Waywerly Academy S tier T-T That's literally THE private girl school simulator, being an errand girl for student body pres and witnessing secret society meetings, how else would you experience that!) Video didn't feel long at all btw, great editing and light delivery!
huge agree on what you said abt the characterization and world building, especially for the newer games. I think that’s what tripped me up on the newer games bc I absolutely adore the camp that the older games bring in all honesty hehe. A game like ghost dogs barely had a plot with very surface level characters but the idea of the mystery at hand is so camp to me that it hits a certain cold hole in my heart hahaha. I am a creature ran simply on nostalgia 💀 thx for the great comment!
Hello @gyserpop. I just saw this video for the first time. Side note, I have physical copies of the first two games. They are collecting dust in my collection, so if you want to play them, feel free to reach out. I dont know about the remastered copy, but i can also check if I have that one.
I always questioned how Nancy would tell her friends that their friends were criminals lol. since SO many of her fiends sent her to their friends only for them to try and off her lol
Re: Replacing Lani Minella I mean, Gab Smolders did clock an older woman instead of an 18 yr old detective back when she first played the game. But at this point, Lani has become a local staple on ND Games so it's a widely accepted thing. The only logical reason was that HeR couldnt afford her anymore.
That’s extremely interesting! To my knowledge no I am not, my dad’s side has told me we come from Native Americans and my mom’s side are very European. The name just happened to come to me years ago and it just felt right haha. What is the Danish part of my name if you don’t mind? Thanks for letting me know!
@@Gyserpop Gyser means Horror in Danish, and fits excellently with your skull pfp. (But I was also thinking that could be a coincidence, since skulls will always be popular. But what a perfect coincidence.)
maybe its because i havent played them but from the 2nd-5th game i get message in a haunted mansion and treasure in a royal tower confused.. just from their cover art it is extremely similar, and then final scene and stay tuned for danger both in my mind sound similar both being theatre/radio some form of performance artist .. its probably because i havent played them but it seems like when secret in the scarlet hand came out they kinda started expanding a bit from the original formula
33:34 I LOST IT 🤣🤣🤣 it's so true the composer but their whole japanussy into that
they stepped into a different realm when they were cooking that beat up fr
japanussy 😭😭
All the Nancy Drew games should be ported to Switch, with new Switch exclusive game.
wait hold on you’re cooking with this one….
Not mentioning Blackmoor Manor's soundtrack is CRIMINAL, its the best one by far (and I like pretty much all of them)
👀 gulp. u right frfr Blackmoor gonna be played again soon so I’ll get a refresh of the ost. Thanks for the love!!
You are so right about secret of shadow ranch thank you for being right about secret of shadow ranch
I love that your opinions are sometimes pretty expected yet sometimes very controversial made this a great watch
was terrified of putting my opinion out there so thank you for this comment lol
the final scene, danger on deception island, ghost dogs of moon lake, and legend of the crystal skull is S tier just based on the vibes

I loved the mini golf and wished it were longer.

my nancy drew mkultra plan is slowly but surely working 🤫
So much nostalgia with all these games, even though I was too young to really finish any. You explained all of them so well and very well done list!!
Thank you YT algorithm! Heck yes!

reading this comment felt like a throat punch remembering two disc games haha. extremely glad we don’t have to do that anymore
It was soooo frustrating!!

Would love to see you replay them! Those games were my obsession back in the day 😂
Just went back through Secret of Shadow Ranch on stream recently! Was very fun to visit again thinking curse of blackmoor manor will be next for me. thanks for the comment!
My brother and I have played nearly all of these games together so this video brought back great memories! Thanks!
I rarely hear folks speak so highly of Twister. Interesting! Great video overall!
Very nice Vid! Thanks for that. I love ND so much. And I totally agree with some of the ranks ✨

Blackmoor Manor was my first ND game and in my opinion the best! Nice video!
Thanks for the comment!! I just recently replayed it for the channel and I have to say it is very high up there great atmosphere and characters!

Thank you so much ❤️🔥 that’s really what I wanted to do with this video, show people just how many games there are and how different each game was
Love this video! Very entertaining thank you!
me and my sisters only played the treasure in the royal tower but twenty years later and its still one of my favourite games
I look back so fondly on the older games. Great for when you need to feel cozy
You should replay them and do walkthrus of them! I love watching them and think you would do a great job!

Re: Replacing Lani Minella
I mean, Gab Smolders did clock an older woman instead of an 18 yr old detective back when she first played the game. But at this point, Lani has become a local staple on ND Games so it's a widely accepted thing.
The only logical reason was that HeR couldnt afford her anymore.
They told her that they wanted to take the series in a new direction. She never wanted to stop doing the voice of nancy.

There are white Jamaican's hell even black Jamaican's aren't indigenous to the island. The Ransom of the Seven Ships "controversy" is so ridiculous.
