I have to wonder though, with how actual police love to use his logo for some reason, if he would be called woke because canonically the punisher fucking hates the police.
The best Punisher scene is when he makes a big deal out of 'a blowtorch is so hot it feels cold'...then tortures a blindfolded criminal with ice cream.
Literally the first act he takes after his family are butchered though...I think that act was misplaced in the screenplay. A good revenge flick needs to emphasize the protagonist's raw pain and hatred when they first start getting even, like in The Crow. Frank is very calculating, but I doubt he'd be particularly merciful on the first mob flunky he got his hands on.
I only ever got to play this game because, at my Hollywood video in town they had a copy of the punisher with a T rating on it. I rented that game dozens of times.

Never played this game before but I always wanted Mind Pulp to play this. I have The Punisher 2004 film starring Thomas Jane and Punisher: War Zone starring the late Ray Stevenson on DVD. I do have some Punisher comic books in my collection, including 2 issues of The Punisher MAX. I even have a Punisher T-shirt that looks identical to the one Thomas Jane wore.
Same, I enjoyed the game and the extended cut of the 2004 Punisher film too. Recommend reading the comics, Welcome Back Frank, the game is based on as well. Hoping one day someone remasters Punisher for both current consoles and pc and removes the censorship.
The interrogation mechanic is so ingrained in my brain that I once dreamt I was playing this game and triggered an interrogation in this game where I gave the guy backshots.
Nah he’s uh… a veteran who’s family was killed so it gave him an excuse to just be a ruthless murderer sometimes he doesn’t just kill bad guys… he’s killed many cops too so uh them using the skull is silly lol
10:15 its a chroming vat. Chrome is applied to objects you dip into the vat via electrolysis. Suffice to say getting simultaneosly electrocuted, chemical burned and suffocated by having your head forced into a chroming vat is particularly shitty way to die.
I've played this game on the PC, and let me tell you. It is one of the most violent things they've shown for this game. This is Marvel's very first M rated game, and it came out way before X-MEN Origins Wolverine.
It is basically just a rough mashing together of the story arcs from MAX and Welcome Back Frank. I think the boys at Volition probably had more to do with the script than Garth directly though; the writing sensibilities have a lot more in common with the mood you get in Summoner, Red Faction and Saints Row 1&2 than Garth's solo work.
God I remember the super best friends playing this, it looked so great,the only problem in this game is that it punishes you for killing someone after an interrogation which was odd cuz you are the punisher
You can thank the ESRB for the lame censorship. Otherwise Punisher, like Manhunt 2, would've received an A rating and not been sold at retail. Today if these games were rereleased? They could probably remove the censorship and still get an M rating. I mean The Last of Us 2 got an M and it is way more graphic than these PS2 games.

It was one of the best games I played as a teen. Put hundreds of hours into finding out, depending on who you interrogate, that different scenes happen or that others are traitors. DOPE
Please do a part 2 and please use slaughtermode more.Also the bear trap kill is awesome i really wish you would’ve used that, theres a spot where you can stick a guys head in a eel pit on the zoo mission.The dangling knife set special interrogation in the kitchen at Ma Gnuccis house grants you access to a stairwell that leads to a safe with flashbangs. Interrogating the guy at the bowling alley would have given you a key to a room next to that big entryway where the gnuccis keep spawning,inside theres an array of weapons on the wall, specifically including 44. longnose magnums and more flashbangs .The special interrogation using the Samurai statue makes the guy tell you that Bushwacker recently got eye surgery, when you shoot his shades off it makes him vulnerable to the flashbangs you throw at him which is why he becomes completely inaccurate.Anyway,loved the gameplay this game deserves the exposure,im a big fan of it lol.

Wish you played further where the cameo characters show up. In the Stark industries level, there is a half life reference where a scientist rushes to tell another scientist named "Dr.Freeman" that they opened an interdimensional portal with aliens. Sad that Freeman gets merked not too long after.

I remember that I got this game as a kid. My dad must've gotten the first version of the game because it was absolutely brutal. Back then, these PS2 gore scenes were peak. Then, I was traumatized as a kid, knowing what I did in the game. It was truly awesome. I never finished the game, though....but it was absolutely worth it.

My brother and I rented this game from Blockbuster. We literally spent hours in the aquarium mission throwing people in the eels. Such a good game.
