For the Gators.. they were all from Florida. almost every single player. Just an endless pool of talent produced in that state. Spurrier’s offenses were scary and if he got up on you, he’d run away with it and run the score up.. didn’t care. Regardless of how it got to this point, Florida’s just experiencing some down time now. Big changes will eventually be made and they’ll be back.. and it won’t take them long. UF has always been a worthy program for a big coach. They get the hire they need and you could see the Gators back to business in a season or two.
Let's be honest. Before Spurrier and after Urban Meyer, what have they really done? Is Florida really that type of Blueblooded program? They've struggled since Meyer left.
Just gotta hire the right coach I think. Because they got the resources and recruiting footprint to bounce back quickly. A good coach will have them humming year two or three. Just Napier doesn’t know what he’s doing.
Michigan had been dying a slow death for decades, and looky there, a Natty and a coach that moved on. Good luck to Alabama, Michigan and all those that lose their coaches after great success!
We just have to make it through this last season and then there's going to be a complete rebuild of Florida from the athletic director, down. The only coach doing okay that was hired by the current AD is Todd Golden and the men's basketball team. Every other coach for every other sport that Scott Strickland hired has flopped. And even Todd Golden was looking ify until the current season.
@@MrAllosaurStrickland didn't hire Sully. Sully been there for years and has been consistently good. My point is that everyone Strickland has hired has flopped with the exception of Todd Golden. Stricklin has hired, what, 4 football coaches? We have never been to the playoffs. Yeah, we won the East a couple times but so what? It's Florida. We should be playing for championships. The other sports have not been great, either. Scott Stricklin won't be allowed to hire another football coach if Napier is fired. But, yes, getting to the CWS is great, even if they did just barely squeak in. But Sully is not a Stricklin hire.
Florida hasn’t been completely trash since Tebow left but right now the problem has been Scott Stricklin. He was buddy buddies with Dan Mullen who he worked with at Mississippi St. He knew Mullen wasn’t a great recruiter or a fan of it but hired him anyways. Shockingly Mullen couldn’t recruit and it was a huge reason he was fired. Then Stricklin hired a HC with no power 5 HC experience. Also Stricklin keeps scheduling these insane hard non conference games. The SEC is hard enough but scheduling top 10 Utah back to back years. Now Miami, FSU, and UCF in the same season is trash. It’s like Stricklin is trying to get Napier fired. Even next year schedule will probably be even harder with traveling to Miami and USF, then playing FSU…
im just interesting in what you are talking about but even Norvell had power 5 experience with OC for 3 seasons at ASU, and ppl said he was in over his head, i do think that it did suck that you guys didnt do a big coaching search like we did after willie, but hope you guys will be better and get something going, its good to see us and yall have a really good competitive game again but then again the 23 and 22 game were intense so.
@@FSUSean2112 it also helps when FSU plays weak competition but Norvell is alright. Billy only won the Sun belt one time in 4 years… that’s not a great hire for the university of Florida. Our AD screwed up like I said. Rumors were even out there that Brian Kelly and Lincoln Riley had interest in the Florida opening but our AD wanted nothing to do with them.
It’s not a drop in talent, it’s a drop in coaching! Trust me, as a Tennessee fan we have seen it all. It all starts with decision making by the university. Unqualified A.D.’s getting pressure from Alumni who try to drive the bus with huge egos and with donations giving them head of the class status. Universities hiring bogus search firms who just take the money with bad results! Presidents and Chancellor’s that don’t care about the actual school and are just looking for the next opportunity to move up! To the loyal fan who supports these programs regardless of the record, we’re just getting screwed! Are you sick of your ROI? I was and I quit donating and buying season tickets after 48 straight years.
As a Florida fan, it is incredibly saddening to watch one man single-handedly set the program back at least a decade. Even during the Muschamp and McElwain eras, top-tier players still wanted to wear Blue and Orange. Napier forced AR15 to be a pocket QB and, in most cases, refused to let him run the ball, which led to him throwing unnecessary picks. Blame Napier, not AR15. Napier has made it clear from Week 2 or Year 1 that he doesn’t have the first clue what he’s doing out there. He’s an absolute joke and needs to be gone ASAP.
We beat Utah the first week he got there. No you just want to hang the white towel because we finished 5-7 even though we have the #12 recruiting class? Pathetic “Florida” fans. Y’all are soft and whiny quitters.
We will be back. Nick Saban is gone, too. The problem has been the school's AD. Every coach since Urban Meyer can't recruit. Georgia is getting more Florida talent than we are. That gotta STOP.
Florida has always been a Crap Program. They had a nice 11 year run in the 90s with Spurrier, in which they were one of the best program in the Country. Obviously they had a nice run under that Criminal Meyer also, but that time period has aged like Wet bread in a Gainesville summer. Historically though they are Crap, from 1911-1990 they NEVER won 10 games in a season, to put that into perspective.... Alabama had 21 10+ win seasons in the same time span Auburn had had 7 Georgia had 10 Tennessee had 11 Kentucky had 2 Ole Miss had 5 Vanderbilt had Zero also Miss State had 1 LSU had 4 So Florida was on the same level as Vanderbilt.
@@DanielOrmsby-z9z At this point I think it'd take a Pete Carroll, Nick Saban type pedigree. This is starting to feel like when Billy left to coach in the NBA.

Whether it was t-shirts, hats, or Coke bottles (I still have a few unopened), if it had that on there, we had to have it. It was pure joy in Hogtown. Then came the word from the SEC. There would be no Sugar Bowl. There would be no SEC Championship. It was being taken away for NCAA violations. To make it worse, the national championship was won by BYU. They got it by winning the Holiday Bowl by beating a 6-5 Michigan team. Had we been allowed to go to the Sugar Bowl, who knows? Several polls voted us national champs anyway, but not the ones that really counted, like the AP and UPI
From 1991-2008 that time period encompasses every SEC championship and national championship the Gators have ever won. This Florida we see today is what they've always been for over 90 years. The question we should be asking is how did this shitty program randomly get good for a little bit?
Argument about Billy Napier is an accurate he’s only had two years, hell he hasn’t even had a full recruiting cycle of his own players. This will be the year that we see some significant success or failure, but you guys aren’t giving these coaches long enough, and now with NIl. which is bullshitand transferring if you want to if you don’t want to play or wanna play has ruined the game

A feat probably never accomplished in college football history! I got ridiculed when I said fire Billy last year and call Urban. Billy ball didn't work, doesn't work and won't work! Bayou Billy is cooked tbh, this year they're not winning 5 games on that schedule. Recruit all you want but its gotta translate to more wins. Their in state rivals are doing better. FSU is recruiting worse and somehow developing better than UF. Don't really think Billy is the guy for them
what you mean we are recruting worse, i mean we got into the the top 10 and yes we did lose out on bolden but still plenty of good talent, and the portal is helping still cause thats the new norm in college football but we are developing better cause we have a better coach but hope things will be better for yall

At the end of the next season Napier will be done, and when the mass exodus of players begins that will end UF for the next decade. I hate to say it but only a miracle will stop this.

Florida is not pumping as much money into the football program as other schools are. Top level leadership is problematic. The big brass at UF are more focused on academics rather than athletics. This allows incompetent mid-level leadership to take root - like Scott Stricklin. This moron thought it would be a great idea to fire Mullen and hire SunBelt Billy. Florida’s issues are not unlike Tennessee’s past struggles. It just takes buy-in from the university’s big brass, a competent AD, and a proven head coach. It really isn’t that complicated.
It's the UAA. They are terrible and don't care about football as much anymore because they want to change the image from a football school to an "everything school" the result is, our women's soccer team is great along with the other unwatched sports at the cost of football directly. As a fan who has watched since before I could talk, this is heartbreaking to see. Nothing will change unless all of them are ousted, along with Stricklin and Napier. It'll take an entire restart of the university itself for things to change and it'll probably be at least a decade until UF is prominent in football with the way things are going. It's actually astounding how bad they've been.
That may be the lamest excuse I have ever heard! Your insertion that this downfall is somehow by design is ludicrous! Florida is not a Blue Blue Football program! These kids today does not ever remember Florida being relevant! Florida is equivalent to Missouri!
@@CousinEddy1969 I don’t think it’s by design but by gross negligence. Florida is a blue blood program. There’s no excuses here, just accountability. @@TheLemon420 my point is that no Florida is not a historical Blue Blood Program. Florida is today what they have always been historically speaking!
@@CousinEddy1969 so that means Florida should never strive to achieve greatness again? Georgia had a 40 year drought of anything and almost 3peated last year. Florida has all the best recruits in it's backyard and plenty of money to succeed, so they should. Period. Go be a loser somewhere else.
@SCSAsJorts Yeah.. Carroll brought in the superstars. His USC teams would make other good teams they would play out west during the season look average. They’d just smoke everyone else in their wake. Matt Leinart.. what a career he had.
You have to look at UF more objectively. If UF were really one of the Top 4 teams in 2020, they wouldn't have lost FOUR GAMES! Also the whole "every recruit wants to play for UF" line: I know you're a Florida Expectorator fan, but come on. There's a reason Etienne left to go to UGA. Hyping up Napier as the "best hire" of 2022, too... just stop reading UF propaganda 24/7. Nobody outside of Gainesville thought Napier was the best hire that year. He was just an unproven G5 hire. 2023 UF was a 4-8 team that managed to win two games they shouldn't have (UTK, SCAR) and lose one they should have won (ARK). "Kentucky was on fire!" If you're going to do these retrospectives and expect people to respect your videos/opinions, you have to be honest with yourself. The gators are an old program and have only been successful for like a 15 year period. Couldn’t agree with you less, when Napier arrived the shelves were empty and Mullen had killed the recruiting program! You should also point out that the QB that got in legal trouble had charges dropped, try to be responsible we have enough hacks in the reporting business! The Gators are on the right path and the freshman talent being developed is off the charts!
We have had enough of 3 years and your out at UF. Give the guy the 4 years you said when he was hired. Besides you fire Billy and you also lose DJ. Patience is what is needed at this point, I have total faith in Billy and can't wait for him to prove all the " EXPERTS" wrong!!!! GO GATORS

Florida might be cooked low key
I don’t think so, my guy. Look at how well they’re recruiting and their hiring process.
Been waiting for this since you did that fsu one a few years ago.
Napier is completely lost and has no idea of what he is doing, PERIOD.
Well I guess making the college World Series last year is a failure to right?😂
@@MrAllosaurStrickland didn't hire Sully.
UF should have kept Dan Mullen
Worst decision ever, he told the world Anthony Richardson wasn’t ready and it was shown when he started under Napier😂

You’re a Florida fan? NO Florida fan calls it Blue and Orange. GTFOH troll…😂
We beat Utah the first week he got there. No you just want to hang the white towel because we finished 5-7 even though we have the #12 recruiting class? Pathetic “Florida” fans. Y’all are soft and whiny quitters.
Don’t short change the gators. New season. Good recruiting. They are getting quality kids who don’t have to report to their parole officer
Georgia has had 43 arrests and 2 deaths during the Napier era so far. Napier seems to be recruiting players with better character
Alabama had 21 10+ win seasons in the same time span
Auburn had had 7
Georgia had 10
Tennessee had 11
Kentucky had 2
Ole Miss had 5
Vanderbilt had Zero also
Miss State had 1
LSU had 4
So Florida was on the same level as Vanderbilt.
You sound like a NOLE!
I’m only half way thru the video and ima Florida fan and almost eveything you have said has been skewed to make things so much worse then it is.

The Gators and the fans celebrated much like we celebrate national titles today. We bought anything and everything that said “1984 SEC Champions” on it.
Several polls voted us national champs anyway, but not the ones that really counted, like the AP and UPI
what is funny is florida isn't historic their entire football history is confined to an 18 season stretch save one heisman trophy winner in the 60s.
Neither is Oregon
From 1991-2008 that time period encompasses every SEC championship and national championship the Gators have ever won. This Florida we see today is what they've always been for over 90 years. The question we should be asking is how did this shitty program randomly get good for a little bit?
When you change coaches every 4 years it doesn’t help.
I got ridiculed when I said don't hire Billy! I got ridiculed when I said fire him when he couldn't go 500 with the 4th overall pick in the 2023 draft as his quarterback! A feat probably never accomplished in college football history! I got ridiculed when I said fire Billy last year and call Urban.
Billy ball didn't work, doesn't work and won't work!
Call Urban like yesterday!
The University of Florida would be stupid to fire their head coach. Who are you gonna get? Who? Unless you’re in the top four teams of the SEC, you might as well keep your coach, and do the best you can.

In your mind. Scott.
Get rid of all the alumni who fire the Coach every 5 minutes!
No reason at all that Florida shouldn’t be in national title conversations every year except for the lack of real care towards the football program. If you like Mizzou so much, go root for them. Kids don’t remember Nebraska being relevant either, but they were one of the best for a while as well.
@@TheLemon420 my point is that no Florida is not a historical Blue Blood Program.
"Kentucky was on fire!"
