    I watched your trail trip vid Andrew and enjoyed it. The e-bike you are reviewing is a tad to heavy in my opinion but I did like the fact that it shows how much pedal power the rider is putting in. On lighter e-bikes battery power is not so much a issue when it goes altogether. Personally I just like conventional bicycles. Just lob one in the back of a hatchback car and off you go to your chosen adventure.
    Thanks for your interesting vids and please keep them coming.

      {{3}} That's a valid point about the weight of the Himiway Cruiser e-bike. It's great that you enjoyed Andrew's trail trip video though! Speaking of e-bikes, I recently came across a new crowdfunding project called the freebeat Morph 2-in-1 e-Bike. It's a revolutionary e-bike that offers dual modes for both indoor and outdoor use. What really caught my attention is the indoor mode recharge feature. It's amazing how you can charge the bike while cycling indoors. The Morph e-Bike also has a powerful motor, impressive torque, and puncture-resistant fat tires, making it perfect for all terrains. It's definitely worth checking out!

    Hey, just stumbled upon your video about e-bikes and I must say, I'm impressed! As an avid e-bike user, I'm always on the lookout for innovative and game-changing products. And now, I've come across this new project called freebeat Morph 2-in-1 e-Bike. The fact that it can be charged in indoor mode has got me really intrigued. I love how it combines indoor fitness and outdoor exploration seamlessly. The powerful motor, front suspension, puncture-resistant tires, and waterproof finish are truly outstanding features. Plus, the Smart Saddle Detection+ and energy recycling capabilities make it even more attractive. Can't wait to learn more about it and show my support for this crowdfunding project!

    You were on a hiding to nothing using a Hemiway Cruiser to tackle the South Downs. Fair play to you for doing it, and it was only the choice of bikes that lead to the issue of failing on some of the climbs.
    I cover an average of 3,500 miles a year riding, reviewing and product testing various models of eMTB's on the South Downs, and for every 10 miles covered, the average elevation gain is 1,200ft. The Hemiway weighs in at 32kg unladen and its gearing is awful for a supposed off road bike.
    The 14-28 rear freewheel and 46t front chain wheel, are far from ideal. At the sacrifice of speed, the front chain wheel can be swapped out for a 42t, and the freewheel for a 14-34. Getting the freewheel off though, is nearly impossible, as there isn't a satisfactory freewheel removal tool for the job, as the motor cable doesn't give enough clearance. The 42t chain ring will bolt onto the standard set up, so creating a manual change over. Obviously a front derailleur would be a better option though.
    In respect of the Eleglide, it is potentially a better option, as it has a significantly wider and better range of gearing. The downside of the bike though is its lack of torque, power delivery settings, and a significantly smaller battery, although replacement spare batteries are incredible value for money, as is the bike.
    Given that the Eleglide's battery only failed shortly before that of the Hemiway, shows how the extra weight and inefficient gearing let the Hemiway down.
    Given the spec difference between the two bikes, the Hemiway should of performed far better than it did, especially based upon the following differences between the two bikes.
    The Hemiway puts out a questionable 80Nm of torque compared to the Eleglides low 45Nm. The Hemiway has a 48v 17.5ah 840w battery compared to the Eleglides 36v 12.5ah 450w battery. At less than half the price of the Hemiway. The Eleglide makes a far better proposition of a bike, especially given that you can get a spare battery for about £180.00 compared to about £550.00 for the Hemiway..
    Ref the controller. It isn't in a great position for an off road bike, and a cut down mudguard placed over it, will help to protect it. I would also go into the CUR settings and check that it is set to 20a and not 15a.
    Finally, as I could go on and on about pedelecs.. In respect of the Eleglide and lack of traction, it isn't tyre width that is the issue, it is incorrect tyre pressure, hard compound, or even a combination of both. Fitting a quality set of tyres would for the most part solve the problem, although wet chalk is always going to be slippery. Poor weight distribution is also another factor to consider.
    Edit.. It should also be noted that whilst the Hemiway has certificate of conformity, the Luan Xing motor is actually a downrated 750w motor. Very sketchy.
    For anyone considering this bike, be aware that they have a questionable warranty, and you will be charged for delivery on any parts, at a cost that is more than the component value. It is also worth noting that Rad Power bikes are better value for money at this price point, and that they have hydraulic brakes, over the cable brakes fitted to the Hemiway.
    The one size frame that fits all isn't a great idea either, and you would be better looking at other brands of bikes. At the end of the day though, all Chinese bikes are pretty questionable in respect of build quality and function, and unless you are riding on sand, then a fat tyred bike, makes no sense at all.
    It is also a shame that the guy running the channel isn't giving honest reviews, but that is the problem when a company is supplying a product.

      Brilliant informative comment Eddie, thanks for that, I was looking to buy the himiway with spare battery, it would be used for wild camping on the north Yorkshire moors as I have a few mobility issues at present, my budget would be 2k max, but going off what you've said I'd probably be better going with the eleglide and spare battery and saving myself about a grand, I just need a bike capable of coping with tracks that has a rack that will take a set of panniers and can climb hills, if you have any other recommendations that fit the bill I'd love to hear them ? Looking on TH-cam for reviews (honest) is a minefield as almost all are being done by creators that have been sent the bikes for free, and I don't care what they say about I'm going to be totally honest, bottom line is your not !! No company is going to send out a £1500 bike for free and allow you to slate it, anyway I'll go check out your channel Eddie, probs should of done that before commenting here 😅😅 cheers Mick 👍

      @eddiejefferies3659 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @Mickoutdoors Many thanks for the kind words. I don't really have a YT channel, just a couple of poor quality clips from many years ago.
      I definitely wouldn't recommend the Hemiway, and when mine is loaded up, there are certainly some hills around where I live, that I avoid trying to go up.
      With your budget, it could be worthwhile looking at main brands such as CUBE.
      You would be getting a proper warranty and support, a Bosch motor and battery, and a cassette rather than a freewheel.
      The Bosch Active line motor would be a bit under powered for your use, so look for a bike that has the CX or Performance line. By memory I think that CUBE bikes come with rack mounts.
      If you do opt for the Eleglide, fill out the process of payment until you get to the card transaction part, then come off the site and leave it. You should find that the next day, you will get an email with an extra discount code.
      I don't think that there is anything particularly wrong with the brand, and infact for the money, you can't go wrong. But I am not sure that they make different frame sizes, whereas the CUBE for example, will have lots of different sizes. Good luck.

      @eddiejefferies3659 cheers Eddie I was looking at cube but their prices for what I need seem to be sky high, some well over my budget, but I shall look again, thanks again for your help it's greatly appreciated 👍 😀

    Good review bro. If you get the chance in future have a try on the Lankelesi RV 700. This bike seams to be a strong contender for this category. Would love your opinion on it. Loving your work dude. I'm a longish time subscriber to survival chanel and joined this one at the beginning. Both of which have great content. Keep up the great work and looking forward to next installment. Regards Simon. 😎👌.

Has a few flaws, but gradually ironing them out. Just out of interest...what bags etc have you used for your kit? Especially loving those fork bags

    Could I pick your brain for a recommendation ? I am looking for a bike suitable for doing one way on my daily commute to work . I split the day by either riding in and leaving the bike over night and running home and vice versa .
    The route is ten miles about two miles of which are on the road the rest is bridleways and footpaths often fairy muddy in the winter .
    I have no issue with the current system using my conventional MTB but I thought it could be fun to try an E-bike and also during the better weather the runs are a lot longer so it would be nice to take it easy on the cycling part .
    Thanks

    Do you prompt bikes if it was free the best bike is a kit on a nice frame 1500wat to 2000 watt fat tyre 4ins top speed 49mph all lights half the prise of that bike. Why or why to they make bikes like that. I think in Britain the government should open factory and employ young people to make a good bike instead of buying from China they look all the same. In fact China have different companies but ues the same parts write down to mudguards. Talking about Britain isn't a country for ebikes it rains to much so we have to wait for summer if we get one
    I always down Britain because it's to old fashioned and it's a shit country it's a strike country even Germany is a better country. I don't no why I've gone from bike to country because I've made a lovely bike up a proper ebike that turns heads but can't use it for the shit weather

      Excuse me.... but they have 2 pedals. What do you think they are are there for, to pedal not to just sit there and do nothing. You're not being lazy if you pedal and its a great form of exercise. You should look into e bikes more before you shout your mouth off. Don't say someone should lose some weight either that's a rude and stupid comment.

    • @KentEBikes
      @KentEBikes  ปีที่แล้ว +21

      Because its fun. My truck has a motor, and my motorbike had one. It's not because I can't ride a normal bike, I do have one, and i wouldnt call myself lazy with all that i do. I just find ebikes fun to ride.
