I’m seeing lots of these E-Bikes in Alberta now. It seems to be the go to mobility tools for the older folks that in the past would have maybe sat at home. I used to despise them in the past being a road biker but now I’m getting older and just glad to see the older folks getting out and about.
Go to Europe, Ebikes are everywhere. All styles and sizes. They make great inexpensive practical transport. As a bonus, you don't work up a sweat on a 38 degree day.
Thanks for sharing! Yes, I've been seeing a lot around Canadian cities. A lot of delivery riders use them. The other day I sam an older woman riding her bike along the Ottawa riverfront pulling her dog in a trailer. It was great to see.
I have an EM-2. (pictured) It'll do 65 kph around town, but the range is only 30-40 km at that speed. It's a fun commuter, and only 6 bucks extra on the power bill. These look pretty fun, as the battery is removable..meaning you could own a few to swap out.. and you can take them off road.
JUST GOT MY HIMIWAY STEP OVER CRUISER LOVE IT WITH THAT BEING SAID THIS BIKE HAS ALOT OF POWER AND WEIGHS ABOUT 62 POUNDS. IF YOU HAVE ISSUES WORKING THE GEARS WITH THE PEDAL ASSIST YOU GOING TO GET YOURSELF IN A PICKLE
Recently purchased the 1st Indian Hooligan e-bike sold by Indian Motorcycle Sturgis and they’re definitely as you say. Whether running errands in town or in the hill and forests, it brings back the kid in me. How is something this fun legal ?
Yeah, technically it's not really legal with the speeds these things go. However, being a new class of vehicles it's hard to regulate and the laws are not really enforced which is fine by me.
I live on the Canary Islands and am following your videos for quite a while now. Was wondering when you would go electric! I've got a Spanish make, an Orbea. Great fun! I've ordered a Zero DSR a while ago, delayed because of the world wide situation. Still hoping for a test of yours, though I've seen everything on the web so far! Thanks for your and Brooke's videos! Been riding all my life and always look forward to your new videos! 👍👍👍
Cool, thanks! I will definitely go electric at some point, probably with a dirt bike first. The plan is to get a truck in a year or so so I can run a dirt bike to the trails. Once I have the truck I'll look arounf for a reasonably priced E Dirt Bike on which I won't need to change the oil or adjust the valves all the time.
Thanks for testing an Ebike on your channel! Definitely do more in the future. We just bought our first Ebike (Lectric XP). My wife likes it but she thinks it's too heavy. Looking to get her an XP Lite, 20lbs lighter!
I have to admit to liking E-Bikes. If more come my way I’ll definitely test them out. The Himiway was surprisingly powerful but it was heavy. I don’t see A woman of smaller stature hefting it onto a bike rack.
Am a channel follower, but normally motorcycles. This bike looks very interesting and the price is amazing. On the subject of bike security, like the saddle stem, as a retired aircraft tech, I have wire locked (safety wired) everything that can move on my kids bikes with 50 thou. a/c lock wire. It has been remarkably successful, even in a student city like Aachen. 😅
Thanks! If I get my hands on some E Mountain Bikes I'll do it. The regular mountain biking stuff probably won't get a lot of views on this channel as it's a motorcycle audience. If you scroll back on my channel pre 2019 I have some cycling vids some of which are missing the sound because I used copyright music. That was when I was just messing around on TH-cam when I had 20 subs.
Great video as always! I have a question. Ive been looking for a reasonable dual purpose bike to go on 4 wheeler trails etc. Can this take its place? I still want to keep my street bike but want a dual purpose for quick rides from my house to the trail, or ride around the cottage. Thanks
In the UK the fastest an electric bike can go is 15.5 miles per hour anything over that and it's called an electric motorbike, meaning you need a motorbike licence and everything else that goes with a motorbike
Man, the UK is sucky...I thought Canada was full of wimpy government...the max speed allowed on them here is 20 mph, or 32 kph. People on ten speed leg powered bikes can pass.them. hahahaha !!
I used to smoke E-Bikes on my regular road bikes back in the day but then started noticing a lot of them going a lot faster than the legal in Canada 32kph. I think the companies limit them out the door but purposely give you the tricks to easily unlock the full potential.
I've had a Lectric Ebike for about a year. I prefer my Honda Ruckus. I get more exercise, because you can't take the Ruckus all the places you can take an ebike.
Thanks for sharing! Yes, the Ruckus is pretty cool with a good range. That would make a good comparison. Unfortunately I need a truck to pick up a Ruckus from Honda Canada. Planning on that purchase in the next year.
In BC ebikes are restricted to 32KMH sports bicycles can go faster 👎 It's hardly worth getting an ebike in BC. They want to get people out of cars and then they dumb the bikes down so much.
@@DifferentSpokesTV im surprised you did not recommend getting a shock absorber seat post for this bike or any other hard tail bikes, even with fat tires they really justify the extra 30 to 150 bucks. maybe even a more padded seat, cloud nine or something like that.

65kph is awesome! I like the removable battery because you can purchase an extra one, attach it to your rack and have double the range.
Looks cool. Enjoy and ride safely!✌🏽
Thanks for the comment!
Very informative & well edited 👍

I paid 1700 USD for my 2005 Honda vt750 Shadow cruiser , last year.
I'd buy one of those but the traffic here is to heavy. Looks like fun
Nice bike. Honda rules. :)
Yeah, I rode bicycles in Toronto traffic for years. You get used to it but now living in a small town I notice a big difference.
Hi can you do another test of this bike in winter . to see how it performs... thanks.
I’ll consider it but Canadian winters are pretty severe. I don’t think I can stay out long enough to test the range.

Awesome video about a really great bike! I must say I definitely like the Himiway 👍👍
Thanks! 👍 It rode pretty well.
I got it on sale for a thousand bucks with the front bucket included. I accessorized to the tune of $500
That looks like a great ebike for sure, but it is very heavy. It would be a real chore to pick up and load on a bike carrier!
Yes, it definitely takes some elbow grease. Removing the battery first helps but it’s still not light.
I think brooks got the crappy end of the stick with the videotaping every Steephill you made her do it lol
Awesome! Could you do more eMTB videos? Thanks. 👍😊

Tez chcialem motorynke!
Cool… It looks like a lot of fun 👍
Thanks!
I got about 30 miles full throttle only which is excellent for the price .

Yeah, it’s the same in Ontario, but if you do some research most ebikes have a back door you can unlock. Just saying.
No hardtail for my old ass....
Yep, on the bumpy stuff even the fat bike tires didn't soften the hits.

Nonsense. Be a man, buy a real bike with a V-twin.
