I've used this box and vs the Lock'r Down or Console Vault, both LD and CV are far better vaults. Both are full boxes, with no division, which allows you to utilize the full space for that helmet you pulled out. My Lock'r Down holds multiple laptops, firearm, wallents, etc. all in the full entire box with either a key or combo lock. The LD & CV also slip right into place unlike this version, which as you said, requires some wiggling to fit in.
I’ve done the same type of safe but it’s one full compartment. I mounted a holster towards the drivers side and also two extra magazines. One of the first items I purchased and love it.

I was luckily enough to have one already installed when I picked up my 17’ SR5 crew max, I love it because for the exact same reason of being able to lock up my pistol in it, it’s a pretty sweet feature 😏

Taylor Albaugh I wouldn't compare a tundra to a Glock. The tundra is a well designed, attractive, user friendly truck with awesome lines. Glock pistol are square, blocky uncomfortable and have an awful factory trigger. They are reliable though.

And I use to drive for rich logistics. rich hauls parts for ford and chevy which obviously is part of general motors including cadillac and so on. These Mexican ford and gm/chevy parts enter America thru Laredo TX. We are talking about vehicle frames, engines and components that I can say do come from Mexico. I still have pictures of paperwork and actual pictures.

For all the ford comments, Fords eco-boost engine is known for major vapor lock issues. Their fix is to replace parts but not fix the issue, leaving you with major out of pocket cost once warranty is done. Toyota's V8 is tried and true. No need to defend this engine, it's still considered one of the best pickup engines available today. Resale value is just more proof.

Ak’s are a good choice. It’s not the best precise weapon but durability is among the best just like the tundra. Ford is like the AR15, very modern, precision is among the best but requires a lot ofMaintainance to work properly. Sometimes simple dust and few use causes it to jam.
Nice, thank you for posting this video, I am going to order one now that I know it uses factory screws; was worried I would be drilling holes in my truck. Just sold my 2010 Tundra dbl cab to my step-son and one of the things I was worried about in ordering my 2018 is the lack of console organization. The other thing I will miss about my 2010 is the driver's side grab handle but oh well, going from an SR5 to a limited and looking forward to all the upgrades over my older model.

I've had android auto and apple play. The Toyota entune isn't bad at all, I actually prefer it but that's just my personal opinion. I like OTA updates. It has the apps I want or use.
If the fuel mileage is a big sticking point for you then you probably shouldn't get one. They are reliable but thirsty. The 13/17 mpg figures are pretty accurate. I'm getting one but the mileage isn't a big concern for me.

I purchased one of these console lockboxes from Sparks (fast shipping) for my 2018 Tundra and dropped it in the console just like Diymike. Well packaged. No issues. Great fit. Great look. Next step is to figure out a foam insert to hold my pistol and magazines in the proper position for quick drawing or use.
I just ordered one from Lock'er Down, a small company in San Antone. It's a bit heavier (12-ga all 'round and 10-ga lid) than this Toyo issued one. It also comes with a choice of locks; one like this one, two safe deposit-type locks, a great electronic lock - but that one costs $150 (about the labor if you pay dealer to install that one). I'm lo-tech but I think I'll be able to install from directions that I had them send me. They are highly regarded; are on YT. Check it out.
I have a 2018 Tundra Limited. The Limited is an SR5 with few upgrades, not really a step up. Slipped on the running boards when they were wet, oh that hurt. Toyota does not tell the consumer that the new technology needs to be updated by the dealer, but no warning as to when the update is needed. Navigation sucks, have to use a Garmin which is much more accurate. All trucks have a handle to assist getting into the drivers side of the truck except Tundra. I have owned 12 new Toyota vehicles, I will shop around before I buy another Tundra. The 2018 Tundra Limited is not equal to my 2007 Tundra Limited Tundra Limited.
Left with time a thief or burglar could just remove the lock box and take it with them. I’m not saying it would ever be a problem but small lock boxes are not necessarily full proof. Always plan ahead.
