"whoa this is so cute! it could be a cardigan!! should I make a car- NO... no.. no that will take ages"
honestly one of the most relatable crochet quotes i have ever heard in my life 😂
I love the way it turned out!! super cute
😂😂😂😂
👏👏👏✨✨✨
fr every time i start a new project with a new stitch or a new square im like ''oh that would be so cute as a sweater'' lmao
i am that person making a cardigan out of squares, can confirm its taking ages 😂
Oh my goodness, that's gorgeous!! I never considered using an extra blanket as backing fabric for my crochet blankets, and I'm OBSESSED!
I was literally about to go to the fabric store when i saw that blanket 😂 it made sense to use it instead
I’d been staring with longing at your gorgeous hair and then you call it a “bad hair day” … girl it’s stunning.
Oops 😂 thank you so much ❤️
Yes I agree sweetheart you have beautiful hair
I can only wish to have your beautiful hair ❤🎉❤
Yes I’m in love with her curls!!
Anxiety is a normal part of everyone’s life in this world. It always has been. Crocheting is an excellent way to relax. That’s pretty much all there is to it.
yup!
Gorgeous! Sometimes I listen to audiobooks of really bad books, so I can laugh or know what I'm making can't be nearly as bad as the book I'm listening to.
This is the best response 😂😂😂😂
I watched this video while crocheting for my own stupid mental health. I'm unemployed and trying to keep myself busy while also working down my yarn stash.
I usually watch crafting videos, anything from sewing to yarn crafts to sculpture to resin - kind of just whatever I feel like watching at the moment. The other genre I lean towards is D&D streams.
Hey I’m sorry to hear about that ! I hope your work situation and mental health improve soon ❤️❤️❤️
YESSS D&D is the best!! Do you watch the campaign Aerois?
I was going to recommend D&D too! I've gotten really into Tales from the Stinky Dragon podcast, and it is the perfect crochet background because there's no visuals, so nothing to get distracted by lol
@@tikaepixwhom666 I've never heard of that one! I've watched a little bit of a few different things, here and there, and I started the very beginning of Critical Role last year. I still haven't caught up.
What's Aerois?
@@phonc I'll add it to my list, thank you!
For some reason, I like to watch crochet videos while I crochet. Watching other people make stuff really motivates me to get a lot done on my projects.
I like to do the same 😊 it feels like we’re crocheting together
i like to watch drawfee here on youtube! their commentary/banter is fun and feels like you’re in a room with friends. also i can keep my eyes on my crochet and i only need to look up every once in a while to see what they’re drawing. it’s nice to watch other people being creative while i’m also creating (:
I cross-stitch while watching Drawfee!
Drawfee is such a comfort. And adjacent, I love to watch Jacob and Julia Drawfee on their channel Secret Sleepover Society, playing games like Diner Bros. Never gets old.
@@AM-ow3gn I didn't know they had a separate channel! That's awesome
My anxiety has been on the fritz lately. The thought of making a blanket is still so intimidating as someone fairly new to crochet (plus I have like 10 WIPs to get through) but the thought of a weighted blanket would be so comforting to me.
Beautiful daisy squares btw! I also love your voice! So soothing 🥰
Take it easy and dont rush your projects :) i hope your anxiety gets better soon ❤️❤️
I'm also currently making a blanket and I have been rewatching a bunch of Castle episodes :) I usually crochet while rewatching something because then it doesn't matter if I miss a few seconds because I have to undo a mistake or something like that, also audiobooks are a great way to be entertained while crocheting ^^ love your blanket :D it's so colorful!
I never watched castle ! Might give it a try
i agree with this! ive been rewatching Hunger Games, Happiness kdrama while crocheting my sweater now
Yes!!! This is exactly what I do! Watch something I’ve already seen a few times like a favorite show!
I agree. I love your hair! I’m working on a raised daisy granny square blanket. My first EVER granny square blanket. I have been at it non stop for almost a month now. I need 255 squares. I have about 100. Yikes. But it’s also for my mental health. So , it’s a win in my books. I love the retro daisy. I’ll be trying that next. I also love podcasts while I work. Currently I love the HANDSOME PODCAST. All my favourite comediennes. I also love any podcast about aliens or Sasquatch. Small Town Monsters is a good one, on TH-cam. I’m glad I stumbled across your channel. You now have a new subscriber ❤️
I literally just watch other people crochet.
It turned out so lovely.
Thank you🥰
Oh, this is so beautiful! 💛 I listen to The Magnus Archives while crocheting. A weird mix of a cosy activity with some horror mystery, but doing the stitches helps me focus on the story and gradually figure it out. Also, it's got like 200 episodes, so I don't see myself running out of good stuff to listen to anytime soon.
Me too! Love TMA, although I’m nearing the end of the podcast
Congratulations on the job! Also the 3 jars for colours idea is so excellent
Edit: i enjoy listening to Retro Claude while I knit
Ill check that out 😍
I personally like to watch other people crochet like 24 hour challenges, blankets, unfinished projects, and pretty much any other kind of crocheting. Btw i want to make that blanket now.
Great blanket! Well done. BTW, nobody's mental health is stupid. My best to you in managing yours.
I admire anyone who takes the time and has the talent to learn this craft, and then motivated enough to follow up with a large project like this.
When im crocheting I love listening to like crime-ish stuff or just like video essays if im not in the mood for something as dark. It can vary tbh but i always stick to longer videos so it stays on the same subject for the whole time im crocheting
I love listening to true crime as well
When crocheting, I watch you (currently crocheting) , Samantha Jo- both her vlogs AND podcast sidetracked, Bog Boss Boze- she’s true crime mostly but does a Friday inbox show which is everything you could ever need , Kendall Rae- another true crime girlie, Hope Scopes- she tries every product you could imagine so you don’t have to, and omazing Paige!!!
Your blanket came out amazing btw!!!! I used this same daisy pattern to make a tote bag for my friends birthday :)
Thank you so so much ❤️❤️ that granny square looks amazing on anything
Definitely worth the wait
And honestly this video is just what I needed before going to bed, so calming and relaxing after a long day
The blanket turned out super pretty and it does look as comfy as you said it is 💙💙💙💙
Keep going!!!! Love your vids and I can’t wait for more
Awww thank you babyyyy💙💙💙💙💙
Hi! OMG the blanket is absoluetly GORGEOUS! And the sweater????? In awe!! When I am crocheting or knitting, I personally prefer to watch a lot of youtubers, either you, another crocheter, or comentator youtubers. If I'm not doing that, I like to listen to some of my favorite playlists, watch stand up comedy, or anime movies! Hope that gives you some ideas so it feels less lonely while crocheting! Good luck on whatever your next project is! Can't wait to see it!!
Which stand up comedy shows do you watch ? I’ve been looking for some but i cant find any interesting ones
@@NadiasStudioJack Whitehall defo recommend he’s like amazing he has some stand up comedy specials on Netflix and also is uploading older ones onto his TH-cam channel lately
Honestly, i keep coming back and rewatching your videos whenever im crocheting
🥺🥺🥺🥰🥰🥰
I am just so happy to see someone who also is upset that they cannot crochet at super-duper-TH-cam-fiber-influencer speed. It really does my heart good.
It is a very slow hobby so why try to make it fast, unless you have a shop or something 😂
This isn’t helpful but I try to knit or crochet while I watch your videos. But for the actually useful stuff I love to listen to video essays on how story’s do X trope (I love understanding what writers do to make me sad) and I listen to audiobooks that I can listen to for free through Libby. I don’t know if it works with libraries outside the U.S. but there are other online libraries that let you join. With Libby you just use your library card and then you can check out audio books instead of destroying you bank account with audible. Some books with cool sound effects are the wooden prince and it’s sequel which is a steampunk fairytale rewrite of Pinocchio.
That sounds very interesting !! Ill look into it maybe we have a service like that where i live
It turned out soo good😭💕
Your videos are soo calming, I feel like I could listen to your voice for literally AGES!
Right now I'm trying to finish a project I started a while ago, but since then I've started at least 4 other projects 😭
I love your channel and this community ❤
I have a wide array of creators I watch on TH-cam, some arty, some crafty, some gaming, some commentary. Sometimes they upload a bunch and I have to save the videos to a watch later playlist, I then just watch them all while crocheting or whatever. Currently crocheting a raglan sweater, it might take a while between work shifts and procrastination, but it works for me, that or podcasts and twitch streamers
I have knitted14 pair of socks, 8 hats, 5 pairs of gloves, 3 pair of mittens, a full cardigan and a couple baby blankets in the last 18 months to help reduce my anxiety. Never apologize to anyone for using your anxiety driven energy to make something useful.
just found your channel, subscribed immediately!! your voice is so relaxing… beautiful blanket !
This blanket turned out beautifully!!
When I crochet I usually watch either Sam and Colby or Eleanor Neale on TH-cam. I have also been watching ‘the fall of the house of usher’ on Netflix, other shows are Shameless, Criminal Minds, Ginny and Georgia, the Office, and The walking Dead.
Also, the blanket is absolutely gorgeous!!!
I saw the fall of the house of usher the other day, so might give it a try
I personally just watch other crocheters blogs and videos it feel like I have a crochet buddy ! ❤
This looks fantastic! I love how it came out and attaching it to a weighted blanket was an amazing idea.
Your blanket turned out so good!
How beautiful, please don't ever say stupid in this way, it's a fantastic blanket and your mental health is worth every stitch xx
I've had this video saved in my watch later for like five months now, and I finally watched it today. It was such nice company while I worked! I love how your blanket turned out. I looks so cozy!
Repetitive and relaxing
Amen sister!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
OMG! This blanket looks AMAZING! Also I LOVE how you have crocheted so many things like the sweater youre wearing, that lamp cover in the background and the cute little frog on ur mic!! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
Thank you 🥰🥰❤️
I'm obsessed with your blanket! When I'm crocheting, I usually watch Elden Ring playthroughs or videos that I've seen before so I don't have to pay much attention to them
This is incredible , when I crochet I listen to classical music, watch friends, Joshua Bassett and Olivia Rodrigo live performances and sometime movies haha
this is STUNNING!!!!!! omg!!!!! the colors are INCREDIBLE and match your vibe so well!!! it looks so cozy. you did an amazing job. so looking forward to whatever you do next. wishing you peace and comfort
Thank you so much❤️❤️
This is amazing!!! You did so good and should be so proud! Honestly I really shouldn't have watched this because now I want to make one, but I have to finish my other 13 projects :((( Two suggestions for what to watch while crocheting is some of ikoxun's videos (she has really good crochet and knit content) and also a show called "Over the Garden Wall" (its just a cute, relaxing, fall show that takes no concentration and is perfect to crochet to) Hope that helps :)
Thank you so much for the suggestions ❤️
You asked what do we watch whilst crocheting? Well surprisingly enough this video was chosen by the algorithm on auto play while I’m also making those same granny squares (but I’m not so ambitious to make a blanket, I’m just sticking with a little 13 square bag)
"I'm curious to know what you listen to while you crochet" me crocheting as I watch this video haha
This lowkey becoming my favorite youtube channel, you're SO talented. Beautiful blanket, greetings from Colombia
Awww thank you so so much🥰🥰
I've been in such a crochet slump and this inspired me, so thank you! It makes me think I should finally tackle making a blanket haha
You absolutely should !!
I love watching Gilmore girls when I’m crocheting! It makes the vibe so cozy.
Great idea for the blanket!! I watch reruns on TV or sports. If my hands are not busy, TV is boring.
I watch friends
I'm currently watching old episodes of A Homespun House podcast and old Thriller episodes. It was a really popular TV show in like the 50s and hosted by Boris Karloff. It's spooky and a mystery but nothing graphic. I absolutely love it.
i typically watch video essays about random things as well as dungeons and dragons campaigns!! i love dnd and it’s a great excuse for me to actually watch ones i’ve been procrastinating for a while
Whenever I’m making jewelry I love listening to the Holosky Podcast.
It is a paranormal podcast, so it’s spooky content, but the two hosts are hilarious when talking about the subjects, which make it feel a little bit less creepy lol.
Some other paranormal podcasts to mention: The Ghost Story Guys; The Belief Hole.
Here’s a handful of instrumental and/or chill music I enjoy, to name a few:
- Anthony Green
- Devaloop
-Detox Unit
- El Michaels Affair (the wu-tang cover albums)
- EOTO
- fingerspit
- Herbie Hancock
- Karl Casey
- Nosaj Thing (specifically the Continua album)
- Polyenso (this band has some pretty upbeat songs, but they’re amazing)
- Soru
- Wes Borland
Beautiful blanket!!! 🤍
Omg thank you so so so much for all of these recommendations ♥️
@@NadiasStudio you’re so welcome! (:
I LOVE YOUR BLANKET. I LISTEN TO FUJII KAZE WHILST I MAKE THINGS.
I watch crochet videos for future ideas, murder documentaries, gossip girls, any netfliex series or I listen to music.
Also, your videos are so relaxing to crochet in the night so I watch your videos to crochet
Lately I’ve been watching Stephanie Soo and all her channels while I crochet. I really love her true crime and vlog channels
When I crochet, I typically watch other videos on fibercrafts, but specifically not crochet. Embroidery, wool processing, knitting, cross-stitch, sewing, spinning, that sort of thing. I do some crossstitch, knitting and sewing, so I swap out whatever im doing out of my rotation.
This is so cute!! When I crochet, I watch Bob's burgers and simultaneously listen to calm music or just music that fits my current vibe
🥰🥰🥰
I adore the blanket. Thank you for sharing. I like that you talked about how long it took to make a square and complete the blanket. It definitely is a keeper. Congratulations. I watch a lot of videos about crotchet and best techniques because I'm a novice. I'm making my first blanket for myself. It's includes a row of the popcorn stitch. It included multiple colours left over from knitting kits for small blankets. You chose a difficult stitch, which I also like and hope to make one day soon. Good luck with future projects and work.
Thank you so much for your kind words and support 🥰 i wish you good luck with future projects as well❤️
i watch a lot of movies when I crochet, recently I have been watching DVDs on my box tv I recently bought from a estate sell. At the moment I am going to watch Cars 2 while I work on my grandfathers beanie as I am feeling nostalgic :). I also watch youtube game series, booktubers, and other crochet videos :)
This blanket is absolutely beautiful !!! I like to watch Passioknit Kelsie and some random crochet vlogs while I crochet
Love the blanket. I landed here after trying one square and wondering what to make with it. The result you got is so gorgeous. Definitely one to treasure❤
I was starting a blanket with these granny squares and I HATED the back , however , after watching your video this was a sign to make it and do exactly what you did and attach another blanket to it !!! Ahhh I feel so inspired 🫶🏼🌷!!!!
yipppeee, glad I could help!😊
Beautiful cozy, warm blanket 🫶🏻💋🫶🏻 #lovetocrochet #crochetblanket #crochetflowerblanket
To answer your question : I’m watching yours videos while crocheting ;)) 😽
i loveee itt and also when in crochet i either listen to audiobooks or watch a movie
This is amazing! This block is so neat, but seemed a little intimidating. I love "stuff you missed in history class" when i am busy crafting
Love that you're enjoying the crafting sessions with a bit of history on the side! ❤️
I watched The Affair, The Good Fight and Bloodline while making a blanket with 42 squares! It's a peppermint swirl but I used black background and strong colors. Just starting to sew it together
Yep, doing this right now, I've been worried that my stash is too scrappy and randomly coloured but yours came out so beautiful!
Good luck!!
I really love your squares. What a good idea to use your blanket to back your project. I think it will become an heirloom for you. Glad I came across you.
Thank you🥰
Beautiful blanket! I listen to thriller, detective and ghost stories on youtube. I'm addicted to my process😂
That is a wonderful idea to just pull out colours to make your blocks. Glad crocheting is helping you. I think an hour is normal to crochet this design
i don't actually crochet, i knit :) but my go to is listening to an audiobook or podcasts, usually dnd or something with a more in-universe storytelling vibe like the two princes or the magnus archives
My yarn winder changed my life dude, best yarn related purchase ever
Agree !!
The blanket turned out beautifully. I enjoyed the process and yes, weaving in all those ends would have been a no for me as well. While crocheting I like to watch TH-cam podcasts or whatever longer videos I have saved in my watch later list. I also like watching other people's crocheting videos. If I want community drama, there's a new person I found that does fiber art drama, Made in the Moment. Or some serious learning videos like language learning or some history, cultural content.
I'll check them out :D Thank you for watching!
for longevity you should consider sewing a few lines throughout the blanket to tack blankets to one another more securely.
Thanks for the suggestion!
Yes make a cardigan and it should be hooded 🥰
We’ll see about that 😂
You and your blanket are NOT STUPID. The worst thing you can do is call yourself names. Its beautiful. I crochet for anxiety and it works. Its 2am and im about to crochet and im try to make a granny square for the 1st time. I LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR DAISY SQUARES. If I could learn that it would be AMAZING.
Hey love :) please don’t take the title seriously. It’s just that. a title…
@@NadiasStudio lolololol it's funny, I am a very intense person and of course suffer from anxiety. I was also unable to sleep and went crackers for a bit hahahahahahaha
14:59 the talent and patience and dedication to make this is amazing. just wowwww 😍😍😍
🥰🥰
I watch the great British baking show when I’m crocheting ❤
The title of the video made me smile ♡ I definitely want to get to the point where I can make a big ol flower blanket
A flower blanket sounds incredible! Keep at it! 💖
i’m crocheting right now…..i watch crochet videos to get ideas or because i’m intrigued.
When I crochet, I usually watch content like yours, some random shows or animated movies (my fav).
For music, I just with whatever Playlist I see, or sometimes pull up compilations or mashups
for what I watch: crochet by genna, the try guys (eat the menu and without a recipe are my favourite!), jacob forester (his cozy game plays are great background noise) and omazingpaige are some of my favourite
I just finished a granny poncho. Now I’m going to start a hdc in teddy bear brown. I suffer from depression anxiety and chronic pain. Watch the movie. Like Water for Chocolate. You will relate to that movie. Your squares remind me of the 70s groovy flower. Please take care of yourself.
Thank you for the recommendations ❤️ im so sorry about your pains and aches, i feel you❤️
I binge Marvel shows… lol I’m. Big fan! During Christmas is my real crafting season, I like to hand make my gifts, and I’ll go through my entire Christmas dvd collection. Also I’ll watch other creators do the same type of craft as me, it helps me push through. Sometimes, I’ll watch book reviews as well. Hope this list helps.😊
yippeee, I'm a big marvel fan too :D There's nothing I love more than hand made gifts 🥰
You are so lovely. Take care of yourself. Film what you want, when you want. So glad you are able to go back to work, it can be very difficult to be unable to work for a period of time. Know that you are worth so much, beyond what you do. You are capable and brave, strong and beautiful.
Thank you so much ❤️ so kind of you
I watched this video while I crocheted. :) But I will often listen to jazz, like the freeform where it sounds like it's just someone noodling around on the piano because if I listen to something that's too much of a bop, I start trying to stitch in time and that always leads to messiness.
I love jazz, stitching in rhythm sounds fun but you'd have to play the same song on repeat 🤣
@@NadiasStudio yeah, and it's usually a little faster than I should be going, so I do dumb things that make me frog 3 rows. Not that that happened this morning.
“What do you watch when you crochet” videos like these! lol. I’m currently crocheting a gnome
Yippee C:
I too am watching this video while I'm crocheting for my mental health 😂. It depends on the project but usually just crochet blogs
The blanket looks gorgeous especially the random squares that have multiple colors ❤ also i watch vlogs or listen to podcasts like the hippier podcasts also known as uncomfortable truths but i sometimes lose focus so I'm trying to crochet without listening to something 😂
I’ll check that podcast out! Thank you❤️
@@NadiasStudio you're welcome :)
I know sometimes setting goals can help to make you items faster or encourage you to keep on task, but if it stresses you out, let the goal become more flexible, because goals can make you anxious.
while i crochet (or do other art pieces) i tend to watch gameplay videos, more specifically Gab Smolders who seem to have this knack of making horror games into a cozy one. she also plays cozy games as well as mystery ones, and they're all cozy and entertaining. i also watch people working on their own projects, giving the illusion that you're both working together.
Loved your projects but be more grateful and enjoy life. But please live yourself. 🙏❤️👍 embrace your beauty inside and out! God loves you. I’m looking forward to learn more from you.
Your blanket is absolutely gorgeous!
I loved this video! I definitely want to upcycle a blanket i already have and use up my scraps now too! I love listening to audiobooks while crocheting. My local library uses the libby app for audiobooks so i can listen on my phone and its free 😊
Some of the scrappy ones came out really cool!
All the color combos are gorgeous.
Glad you like them!
The blanket turned out beautiful - great job on it! I love the idea of using an existing blanket as a backing for the crochet.
Because I’m a beginner I can’t really like watch anything while I crochet so I usually just listen to some music that isn’t too distracting that way I can focus on my stitches and counting 🫶
I also sometimes have to pay attention but try my best to sneak in a look or two at what I'm watching xd
I'M ALSO DOING THIS BLANKET OMG.I have 21 left.❤️❤️❤️I'm so excited to have it!
I totally LOVE this. Great job!!!
