Yea, but I don’t use it much now that I got the fortress quiet air compressor. I love that one. Fills up super fast and you can’t beat how quiet it is.
First video I’ve seen where you actually performed the compressor break in listed in user guide. All other videos skip it or as I saw in one the guy tossed the user guide all together. I always try to read and follow directions no matter what my skill level is. Mistakes happen when you don’t properly prepare. Thanks for this very helpful demonstration!
Please do a follow up video when this unit fails. After being a sucker twice for the Mcgraw I spent a hundred bucks for a "Goodyear" dual piston unit from Walmart. Much better and very quiet! I recommend spending extra for the Goodyear. Not planning to return to HF anytime soon.
Great video. Been wondering about these. It's identical looking to a Walmart compressor i bought probably 10 years ago which is just now petering out. Takes probably 8 minutes for it to reach 110 psi. May go to harbor freight tomorrow for one of these.
I just purchased one of these and I’m new to using one for my own personal use and I just have a quick question which direction on the regulator do you turn it to open it and which direction do you turn the drain valve to open it to do the break-in process
I just got one of these, and I'll likely only be using it to fill up tires. It worked fine to fill up rear van tires which go to 71psi. I also got the "Merlin Digital Tire Inflator" which has a digital readout of the pressure going in and/or the tire pressure.
@@zachattackcustoms It works well! When you're putting air into the tire, it shows the pressure of the input stream. Then if you let go of the lever and stop inputting air but leave the gauge attached to the tire valve, it shows the tire pressure, to one decimal place, on an illuminated green dial. Eg, 45.3 PSI. The only drawback would be that it needs batteries to operate (two AAA batteries) so it could happen that one day you go to use it and the batteries are dead and you have no spare batteries of that type. Other than that, I think it's better than the analog gauges because it shows the tire pressure more precisely to one decimal place.
I just picked one up today on clearance table for $27.99. No box or anything. Bought as is, 5 days to return. It seems to work great. What do you think? Good buy?
Just failed today one week away from the one year mark. Take it back cause they only honor a 90 day warranty. Left it on the counter after going through 2 of these. Got no love from harbor freight never going back again so told them to use it as a door stop and walked out.
Do you think it’ll run my framing air nailer? I will only use it for small jobs around the house, such as the one I’m starting this weekend. It’s a lean to roof off the back of the shed. It’s about 10’x10’
This is honestly only good for someone that rarely uses an air compressor. It's mainly for tires, maybe a brad nailer, and blowing up pool floats, footballs, etc.
I bought this POS on sale for 32.00. What a waste of 32.00. It might have pumped up to full 50 times and its cylinder and ring were shot. Manual gas parts break down and a number to order parts. Well I called the number to find out that there are no parts available what so ever.
I agree now that I have the Fortress Air Compressor from harbor freight. It is awesome! This Mcgraw is only good if you just want something occasionally to fill up a tire that is a few pounds low. Not something I would recommend for weekly use.
These are not heavy duty commercial professional type use compressors. Just your "I need air in my tire" once in awhile light weight usage., for the ones complaining just save up ya money and get one that can take the daily abuse 👌🤷♂️
If my kid ever shows up with this POS, it's going in back of garbage truck on trash day to see it crushed. Worthless noisy compressors reviews should be stacked by two second long sound levels only. We did like the quiet one, in the other review, where why not have two of them, and a remote carry tank filled like I always have with. Once one has a Quincy twin, since mid seventies, everything is judged by the master of compressors. Cheers
FYI, Harbor Freight has this air compressor on sale this weekend for $44.99. That is the lowest I have ever seen it drop to. Aug 18-20, 2023.
Still working good? thinking about picking it up

Shoot should have caught that today its 54.99 web or 59.99 at store.
Just got one for 38 bucks on clearance

Excellent Video. Thinking about getting it for inflating my truck tires when needed rather than running to Gas station for air.
Thanks, yea it should be fine for that, just check for coupons, it goes on sale all the time.

What did you abuse it with.
So vague with your complaint that it's almost pathetic
I have one of these. I love to charge it up and put ot in my jeep for my offroad adventures.

No problem, I think they are on sale right now too, at least last time I checked.
Thank you. The compressor is _really_ loud. I don't know if they're all like this, but I don't know that even earmuffs will be enough.
Really loud! My decibel meter said 104! It was super loud!
Way too loud! I could not believe it. Would have never bought it had I known.
How do get my 3 gallon air compressor to inflate attire
I just purchased one of these and I’m new to using one for my own personal use and I just have a quick question which direction on the regulator do you turn it to open it and which direction do you turn the drain valve to open it to do the break-in process
Yes you have to open the drain or it will not run long enough before cutting off
Thanks for your review and coupon tip! Will keep my eye out.

Nice, I actually was thinking about getting that tire gauge as well. How do you like it?

@commonlawamerica4540 Awesome, thanks for letting me know, I may have to pick it up soon!
How do you fill it?? I need to know know each step myself.not just you saying g you did it.i want to see it done
Are you asking how to fill the air compressor?
Mine failed. The regulator started leaking after a year. Worse is very difficult to find replacement parts.
What happens if you don’t break it in? I didn’t read the instructions and I just started using mine without breaking it in
I believe it helps seat the seals, I have heard the compressor, if not broke in, might not reach full capacity. But you are probably fine.
@@zachattackcustoms do you think I should open the valve up to break it in? Even though I used it? Thanks for your response by the way!
Honestly I am a believer in if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. If you haven’t had any problems with it I wouldn’t worry about it.
Be warned before buying. This thing is loud. Really loud. Much louder than my previous compressor.
Just as loud as my blender. Just wear ear muffs.
Can you use use it for a painting rooms
I just picked one up today on clearance table for $27.99. No box or anything. Bought as is, 5 days to return. It seems to work great. What do you think? Good buy?
Very good buy for that cheap.
Mine works only first fill up. After that it heats up and will no longer fill up untill its cooled off hours later

Yeah, if you abuse it or use it as a fucking contractor compressor its going to fail.
Do you think it’ll run my framing air nailer? I will only use it for small jobs around the house, such as the one I’m starting this weekend. It’s a lean to roof off the back of the shed. It’s about 10’x10’
I have used it with a Brad nailer and it did fine but i can’t say for sure for a framing nailer. It might work with the smaller gauge nails.
Any suggestions on what I should get for an impact drill? Used for vehicles maintenance and lug nuts preferably?
Definitely not this, I would say something that holds around min 10 gallons of air and around 4-6 CFM.
Question I just gotten on and I’m ready to break it in but not sure what way the regulator should be . Should I turn it left or right to open it
To open all the way you turn it to the plus
I just get my today on sale harbor freight $49 I use it to clean my RC car and work like champ for the price is perfect
Awesome, yep they usually drop the price to $50, just have to wait for it to drop.
Does it blow hard through a blow gun?. I blow out alot of radiator coils. Bugs and dirt etc.
It’s not bad, but it runs low pretty quick and takes a while to build back up.
Do you think this could run the earthquake xt for pulling off wheels and other things of that nature?
It might, but I would recommend something with higher CFMs for lug nuts
NOPE!!!!☝️
Think itll work for blowing lines ? Such as heater core?
This is honestly only good for someone that rarely uses an air compressor. It's mainly for tires, maybe a brad nailer, and blowing up pool floats, footballs, etc.
Where do you fill it?
Can i run a impact gun on this compressor is the biggest question???
I just got an earthquake impact and will do a video on it and test it out soon.
@@zachattackcustoms how did it do?
will this thing blow out some trans cooler lines effectively?
Yes. I have one, other than the noise I love ie
does it come with its own hose
no
THANKS FOR THE INFO ZACHATAK
No problem!
How's it holding up?
Any updates pls
It has been fine, have only used it a handful of times, I have only had it about a month but you definitely can’t beat the price.
I just bought one, and it's only to fill tires, so it's not bad for 50 dollars. And yeah, I wouldn't recommend it for anything else.
I am about to try it out with the earthquake impact and will do a review on it.
@zachattackcustoms I'm sure after I use it for a while, I'll push to see how far it'll go. Just for fun!
Mine won't even fill tires over 45psi
@billhuntington787 then you need to return it and get another one! Since I've had it, I've aired up countless tires. I just did one 2 days ago.
@@6Sisu9 I watched another video and found the problem. You need to pressurize the tank before you adjust the tool pressure
Great Video!

No
Do it is not worth buying. Thank you for the review.
Will this work well for mobile detailing?
Have u found out I'm looking for one
you think this is good for airbrushing
Too loud, too slow, too cheap. Wish I had spent a little more and got a better product. Buy for price and buy twice.

Use this for 10 years and you’ll need a new pair eardrums.
Lol
I bought the 3 gallon pancake model . Absolute garbage, I wouldn't take another one home if it was free
