    Hi Matt, wow have I watched your channels over the past few years and learned so much from you, thanks. I learned to extract image with PS then since I was using Ben Shirk's backgrounds for vinyl banners, I used his cutout action for green screen and it is fast and good. My biggest problem was with an overabundance of green screen bounce onto the subject. there is a tool that comes with his green screen action that adjust hue and man, I can tell you it works great for when I screw up and over light the background. I avoid using green on the floor, it too will reflect green to insides the legs. Well school is ready to begin and football is on the near future as we've already had our first home game so I see lots of new faces. Thanks again Matt. Ted in Sebastian, Fl.

    Thanks Matt. I’m currently using white with the xdrop pro. Trying to get the cleanest edges is what slows my process down the most. Have never tried green but will give it a shot. Have been doing volleyball teams and waist length braids and frizzy hair really makes cleaning edges tough. Pixnub did a good job on the extractions for saving me time. But still had a lot of cleaning to do. Will try photoday to compare on the next one. Pixnub left some grayish “sludge” on some of the edges on a couple, but for the most part was a giant time saver.

    Great review thank you!! Do you have any videos or tips on how to shoot a player wearing a white strip on a white background, whilst also keeping separation between the subject and the background?

    • @MattHernandez
      @MattHernandez  หลายเดือนก่อน

      No I don’t. If there’s no difference in color then you’d need a clear edge for whatever program you’re using to know where to cut the player out.

      @@MattHernandez Exactly my thoughts, just have to find out the best way to do it, with rim lights, without blowing out the 'rim' of the player so that it doesn't blend in with the white background. I'll keep looking around, thanks for replying!

    thanks for taking the time and effort to compare the different backgrounds and also the two tools, great job. Maybe it is worth to mention, that the choice of background should be made on what the intended (final) use of the photo is, considering the specifics of the subject (e.g. someone with white hair on a white background, will be difficult to cut out... or even green, when white would be a bit more prone to pick up light being reflected from the background). It is good to see real life examples, makes it much more valuable.

    Hi Matt. What would you use to shoot reflective object for example polished aluminum. Im using a 5’x5’x7’ photo tent but get sometimes lost in with the background.

    • @mmhm007
      @mmhm007 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's been a while since I've seen the video but I think Matt used it but the subject has to stand completely still for it to be effective. Otherwise, the mask doesn't match exactly.

    • @MattHernandez
      @MattHernandez  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is! Not everybody has those. Also you have to make 100% sure the sudject doesn’t move. For volume it might not be the best idea.

      @MattHernandez do you think changing the color of the background depending on the what the subject is wearing has an impact? For an example in shooting my daughters marching band tomorrow night. They are almost all black uniforms, so in your opinion would white be better? Have x drop pro 8x13 green, white, gray, black, and bright orange.

    • @mmhm007
      @mmhm007 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jeremypritchett6630 I'm interested in your results after watching Matt and do think the uniform should dictate the best background choice. Green however does seems to be the best universal choice with the proper masking techniques that Matt showed.

    How does white and green work with blondes. Very timely I have 24 tomorrow

    • @MattHernandez
      @MattHernandez  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It does pretty good. You might have to do a little bit of extra work on the hair like selecting the mask and contracting it one or two pixels then brushing that off the mask, but it’s not bad

    Since you have the a9iii, you should try out projectors and a nice wall. Or using led lights all over the wall. The ones that change colors. The workflow is minimum once you get the set design to the way you like it. Less heavy post production, at least for my taste
