I write from Genova, Northern Italy, and have been falled in love with traditional Irish music since the mid 80's.
This is my very first record I've bought! 💚
Sitting here in Petty Harbour, Newfoundland, where folks have been playing and listening to music like this for hundreds of years. And it never gets old.
Beautiful
Like it was recorded yesterday. Beautiful and timeless

LMAO! I used to work for Seamus and Geraldine in Hannover, Germany. McGowans Pub and the Irish Harp.
Oh then we might have met- I used to tour with Oison for 2 decades and in between crashed at their place in Hannvoer.. Did you know shay died last December? I just read it and was devastated.
I have this album from the eighties. Don't have a record player anymore. But I still have the album.
Thanks. Amazing memories, not likely to be equalled in one life. Cheers
I had the chance to see them live in the 80s. I would like so much to see them again.
So did I - in Zwolle, I think... I had this album on vinyl, but I haven't been able to find it on CD...
This is a gem, I had not heard of it until just now

Great bands you have mentioned. If you can, listen to a band from Canada called Barde. They were out in the mid to late 70's. A very good Celtic band based out of Montreal.
Powerful
Go hálainn!

@Sagaris Starlight Hi, The track you are looking for is: 'I Was a Young Man' and it is on Oisín's first LP entitled 'Oisín' which was released in 1976. I don't have the album and cannot locate it on the internet but I am familiar with it. I did however track down the lyrics for the song 'When I was a Young Man':-
www.traditionalmusic.co.uk/folk-song-lyrics/When_I_Was_a_Young_Man(2).htm
'I'll go home to my aged mother,
She'll be sitting all alone
Says there's plenty young women to be had,
Why should I be tied to one'
Thanks for your interest, were we not all young once!
Well
