Yes absolutely, just make sure you do not save the encryption key in the NAS itself. Every time you reboot the NAS you will need to login to the WebGUI to enter in the password/key to unlock the share.
Is it possible to unlock an encrypted drive from a QNAP mobile app? When I reboot my QNAP it would be more convenient for me to use the mobile app than log into a web browser to unlock the drive
Not from the app but you can login via the web interface and do it that way from a mobile device. Good feedback though, I'll pass it onto product management.
Thanks for your continuous involvement in NAS.
You do not talk about folder encryption. Is it safe ? especially in case of stolen nas?

Does the Product Performance ( 9:52 ) show the performance with encryption via SED (Hardware encryption) or on volume-level?
Thanks, that’s very good and you have us covered with and without SED.
