"Etsy sellers go the extra mile" reminds me of when I placed an order for a ton of acrylic charms and one I really wanted was already sold out. I left a message to the artist, thanking them for bringing the charms back and saying I am sad this one charm is already sold out. When the parcel arrived I literally cried because the charm I mentioned was included, as freebie, despite being sold out.

For those going above and beyond on your orders, you should buy from them again using a different account and see if you get the same treatment because of you get better treatment because of who you are then that's both click bait and false advertisement on the sellers part. For the mystery box, I was like "wow, that's a lot of stuff. The seller must have known who you were." And then it was confirmed because she or they gave you a code so I'm wondering if it was special treatment or if she/they really go above and beyond for every customer 🤔
More often than not, when I've gotten things from Etsy (as a nobody who buys small things), I've been given extras like stickers or little extra drawings or super cool magnets et cetera. It's part of the culture. A little skepticism here is appropriate and a comparison anonymous purchase is a good idea, but it's absolutely reasonable to figure that these sellers were probably wise enough not to overdeliver just for PR box purposes, especially if they're fans since Rae has great integrity and a fan base that expects honesty/is beneficial to be honest with.
@ the comment above mine, etsy order extras are normally a sticker or two or candy, not 10+ extra items (specifically that set of pencils that came with the pencil toppers). those were definitely sent to get a good review out of rae because they recognized her name.

I feel like you massively overpaid for the pencil set, these are DecoTime pencils, which are literally THE "dollarstore" pencil here in Europe. I can run to the store and get a set of 18 colours for 5 bucks. Getting all colours would only cost me 60...

My Etsy store is being killed by Canada's outrageous shipping prices. I used to be able to offer lower cost items but now I have to fill it with expensive stuff to make it worth the shipping. UGH. That iridescent paint is so fun! I had some nail polish in that kind of shade and I'\d sit there just turning my nails to see the colours change XD that drawing is fun.
That happened to me twice. 😂 I bought some Ball Jointed Doll clothes and I thought I got someone else's orders because there were a few extra items in there. Nope. The other one I bought was a book around Severus Snape and got a poster of him and replica of the Daily Prophet during the Deathly Hallows when Snape was Headmaster! That was quite the shock. I love Etsy because you can find unique things.
Things I've ordered from Etsy have had extra goodies included (usually simple things like stickers or a small drawing) more often than not! Really makes the seller stand out. I wish it weren't flooded with dropshippers and mass-produced stuff, because the real craftspeople on there deserve way more love and an easier time getting discovered!

OK, so I am absolutely positively not an artist, I am, however, a woman in long-term recovery, and I work with women in treatment, and we do a lot of arts and crafts, because sometimes we hear better when we are doing art. I love your joy I love your calling! Thank you so much for making it fun for even a absolute, not artist to truly enjoy your videos!
My worry is a lot of these came with extra stuff because of who you are and they recognized you. If we were to order, we would probably only receive the item and maybe a stick or two or a postcard. I doubt we would get all that stuff. It's awesome for you and smart on the seller as it's good advertising. It's unfortunate for us as the buyer as we would be expecting to get all that stuff and wouldn't get it. I wish the sellers said in their notes whether the extra stuff was just for you or that comes in all their orders. These are awesome products though!!!
Pencil caps and pencil extenders are very useful and popular in Japan. The pencil caps featured in this video remind me a lot of doorstops found in apartments in Canada. Those types of springy doorstops don't seem to be a thing here in Japan. 😛
Oh! The first watercolor paints I bought were a few Reneeissance Colours dot cards, they're gorgeous. Baby Yoda collection is utterly magical. As soon as I saw the paint I knew it was her!
That iridescent watercolor is amazing!!!! I use watercolors that are all shiny, shimmery and iridescent, but not as beautiful as the one in the video! Definitely ordering from them!!
Small businesses are my favorite to order from. Their stuff is higher quality and more expensive, but worth it...plus, more often than not they'll give you samples or free extra goodies just because they're excited someone bought their stuff. Definitely better to order from than big companies.

Those pencil caps are a great example of why artists should always check out the stationery stores everywhere they go! You never know what clever, functional products you'll find. I had color pencils like that in the end you sometimes have to get a plate or something put water in it put the tip of the pencil in it then you can do it over and over and it works! You can look at the tip in the end it has a little paint just rub it of!
Great video, as always! I think the warped paper actually adds to the portrait, as it makes the iridescence on the back of the mirror more noticeable (what with vertical stripes of pink and yellowish green). Also, the music that you used for the portrait section was a real banger!

Those pencils at the end are on sale in the UK for £32.99 for that exact set of 220. I bought my set a month ago & I'm really happy with them for the price I paid. But they definitely aren't worth 4 times the price. For anyone in the UK who's interested theyresold in The Range.

Michael's arts and crafts has nice stuff but it's hard to get out and drive there sometimes. i feel sad because i can't watercolor paint anymore (I never painted since I lost my mom, she always supported me and every time I thought about painting again, I get sad). I love arts and crafts, tho. I want to make DIY hair accessories and stuff.

It's amazing how talented Rae is. To me it is very funny when she uses guache and says it's very different from every paint she ever used, cause when I was a kid guache was the only paint i used, i want so much those watercolor pencil but they were very expensive, so guache it was.

I'm just curious if that mystery box had really good stuff in it just because they knew it was coming to you. It was a GREAT box but it makes me wonder if the quality is always that good or it's because you ordered it. I think in the future it might be better to not use your regular name and go by a pseudonym or just intials or something.
So the art deco pencils are pencils from the Action. The Action literally sells these pencils for 25 Euro's. So I don't think buying them from Etsy for that much is fair. But I don't know if they have Action where you are from. They also have cheap alcohol and water based markers which aren't bad.
*RAE* I purchased the same brand of watercolour pencils from my local B&M store for my niece. They came in 5 sets, each with drawers like you had, and I purchased 2 sets with 44 in each set, and they cost £6 each set! So that was 88 pencils for £12 - There are other sets available, so if I purchased the other 3 sets to get all 220 pencils, the price for 220 pencils would be £30 (roughly $37). Seeing how you paid over $127, you should possibly re-evaluate the score for that Etsy seller.
Surprise boxes usually contain way better stuff, when they sender knows they go to a reviewer/youtuber. Deceptive. Order through some else next time please to get a real sample what the typical costumer might get.
The last art supply you showed are from a brand called DecoTime that is sold in ACTION stores in the Netherlands and other countries in Europe. They should not be this expensive. They probably sold for less than 50 bucks in stores, so you pretty much got scammed with that one.

The last pencils that you got might come from the store Action in france (or europe in general) which is a VERY cheap store like i’m very familiar with this brand and i was shocked by the price 😭😭😭😭

honestly i feel the same way, it's weird that the seller would just make a discount code for rae without consulting beforehand (it's possible, but it seems a little unlikely since rae didn't seem very surprised by it). i'm guessing they saw her name attached to her order and messaged with her to set it up, i really can't believe they'd just set a code up and only tell her about it in the thank you note.

Yeah especially after seeing the Micah watercolour it really blurs the lines between makeup and art on paper so I want to se elite crossover. I think James cCharles did some makeup art
that first paint isn't actually iridescent! the pigment type is called duochrome, since it shifts between two different colors
I couldn’t help but buy some of the iridescent water colors, they are so beautiful!
I went to order the pencil caps. $7 Canadian, + $31 shipping from the US. With other fees, those caps and "freebies" totalled $45. Be careful out there!

@Peepli That's aggravating! I use USPS Priority mail and stick to stuff that can fit inside a padded priority envelope or small box, both of which are flat-rate at $8/ea.

Those pencil caps are a great example of why artists should always check out the stationery stores everywhere they go! You never know what clever, functional products you'll find. We're so glad to learn @SuperRaedizzle is having success with her Etsy shop- we knew those originals would sell like hotcakes!

I had color pencils like that in the end you sometimes have to get a plate or something put water in it put the tip of the pencil in it then you can do it over and over and it works! You can look at the tip in the end it has a little paint just rub it of!

Great video, as always! I think the warped paper actually adds to the portrait, as it makes the iridescence on the back of the mirror more noticeable (what with vertical stripes of pink and yellowish green). Also, the music that you used for the portrait section was a real banger!

The colored pencils are NOT watercolor pencils - they are just colored pencils. That’s the reason they don’t work the way you showed them.

I pick up a lot of my shimmer/glitter/color changing watercolors from Etsy. I have about three people I buy from regularly and I adore their stuff.
Thanks for reminder me to shop on Etsy more often for art supplies. Michael's arts and crafts has nice stuff but it's hard to get out and drive there sometimes. i feel sad because i can't watercolor paint anymore (I never painted since I lost my mom, she always supported me and every time I thought about painting again, I get sad). I love arts and crafts, tho. I want to make DIY hair accessories and stuff.

Oh Rae you got scammed 🙈 you get these deco time pencils in the display at 'action' which is essentially a dollar store ... Edit: what you got were their colored pencils. They sell sets of 18 pcs for 2,24€.
I found the exact same ones on their webshop for 25 euro's 😥

It's amazing how talented Rae is. To me it is very funny when she uses guache and says it's very different from every paint she ever used, cause when I was a kid guache was the only paint i used, i want so much those watercolor pencil but they were very expensive, so guache it was.
I have the same pencils, I bought them at a store in The Netherlands called Action. They were €25 >.<

@@romilafea I would always get the 12 pack colour ordinated ones whenever I went into action, those were like 3.99
Their colouring books are super cute too so I would get one of those too (there were ones for like 1-2€)

I find the constant boast of etsy a bit weird because it cant be true that all sellers do care. They probably did it as she said also, that hey recognised her name so thats why theyre being to nice to her. She must have some ulterior motive or sth for boasting the website so much

I'm just curious if that mystery box had really good stuff in it just because they knew it was coming to you. It was a GREAT box but it makes me wonder if the quality is always that good or it's because you ordered it. I think in the future it might be better to not use your regular name and go by a pseudonym or just intials or something.

So the art deco pencils are pencils from the Action. The Action literally sells these pencils for 25 Euro's. So I don't think buying them from Etsy for that much is fair. But I don't know if they have Action where you are from. They also have cheap alcohol and water based markers which aren't bad.
by the looks, theyre a European brand, we have the artdeco stuff here in the UK, too, where theyre sold by a well-known "bargain" chain

I purchased the same brand of watercolour pencils from my local B&M store for my niece. They came in 5 sets, each with drawers like you had, and I purchased 2 sets with 44 in each set, and they cost £6 each set!
So that was 88 pencils for £12 - There are other sets available, so if I purchased the other 3 sets to get all 220 pencils, the price for 220 pencils would be £30 (roughly $37).
Seeing how you paid over $127, you should possibly re-evaluate the score for that Etsy seller.
Surprise boxes usually contain way better stuff, when they sender knows they go to a reviewer/youtuber. Deceptive. Order through some else next time please to get a real sample what the typical costumer might get.

The last art supply you showed are from a brand called DecoTime that is sold in ACTION stores in the Netherlands and other countries in Europe. They should not be this expensive. They probably sold for less than 50 bucks in stores, so you pretty much got scammed with that one.

The last pencils that you got might come from the store Action in france (or europe in general) which is a VERY cheap store like i’m very familiar with this brand and i was shocked by the price 😭😭😭😭
Yeah it was def a scam, I got like a 48 pack (those exact pencils just less colours) for 6€ at the store

NOOOOOO GIIRRRLLLLL, the last item is from the brand deco time. In europe that is litterally the brand worse than crayola! If you would buy those pencils here in the Netherlands you would go to 'the dollar store' and those pencils would be like €8 in total😭😭

Etsy art supplies are next level! Have been meaning to get me a mystery box off there for some time. Actually I was looking at handmade craft supply advent calendars around Christmas time and would love to see you review some of those because I saw a lot of different ones.
Am I crazy to think that sometimes she seems crazy sponsored by some of the products, ESPECIALLY the mystery art box. The whole code bit seemed so planed
honestly i feel the same way, it's weird that the seller would just make a discount code for rae without consulting beforehand (it's possible, but it seems a little unlikely since rae didn't seem very surprised by it). i'm guessing they saw her name attached to her order and messaged with her to set it up, i really can't believe they'd just set a code up and only tell her about it in the thank you note.
