I've owned two trd offroad tacomas. I went with the sr5 this time. I can change out the front springs and get different shocks for thousands less and have a better ride. After two blizzards and a flood, I never used the rear locker, crawl control, or terrain select.
Rob I think you will enjoy this story it's is exactly what you where saying in this video. A couple of years ago I came across a video and it was a guy who always got the off road. But he loved the hood scoop on the sport so he looked at every option he could think might work o.e.m. of course was his best option but like you can imagine the money was insane and getting it finished in his color drove the price to the moon. So he looked into aftermarket but like you where saying all he could find was fiberglass they where still pretty expensive and they have to be painted and it's still alot of money for something that's just not rugged enough for the real world. He had feelers out at body shops ad's on all the social media sights and basically everything you could think of.About five or six months had gone by and he figured that was it. Then one day he had a message on his e mail from of all people a woman who was about seventy two that always loved trucks and a midsized one would be best for her so she went to a toyota dealer and the salesman had a sport on the lot he showed her and took it for a ride and basically told the guy that she would take it before they got back to the dealership. After a month or two she was happy as hell but the hood scoop was making it hard for her to see. She loved everything about the truck but that and she figured she would have to deal with it and try to get use to it when she saw his request on Facebook. Every thing was perfect for him the color of her sport was the same as his it was the same year and he asked her if she was interested in making and exchange his flat hood for her scoop hood he would do the swap just give him a price. She was so happy she didn't want any money just having the flat hood was enough. He told her that he would come to her house or any location she felt comfortable with he was a certified mechanic and he would sighn a garentee that if she had any problems he would take care of it but he said he would leave until she tested it and was completely satisfied. They set up a time the only problem was she lived a thousand miles away but it didn't bother him. He left his house about quarter to four in the morning got a friend to come just to help him carry it got to her house about two hours before sun set made the switch washed and polished her car and she got in and drove around the neighborhood and he said she was so happy she could finally see and couldn't believe what a favor he had done for her. He told her she was the one that did the favor and he said he had to get back on the road he had a long ride but would keep in touch so they shook hands and when she went in the house he slip a card through her mail slot with a thousand bucks and told her how much it ment to him and he got his truck with a hood scoop so things can work out some times. He said he couldn't believe how lucky he got everyone in his tacoma club where so jealous and him and the lady talk to each other a couple times a month she even e mails him if she's having any issues with her truck and she said he's saved her a fortune on spending money on service he told her she didn't need I thought you might like that story it's on of those freak things that happen to almost everyone at some point in there life.
I’m leaning toward the off-road in Bronze Oxide (assuming it has a 6’ bed option). I use my bed way too much to have a stubby 5’ bed. I wish they had an Xtracab TRD OffRoad
The 2024 has 2.4 turbo it doesn't mater what brand Toyota general motors ford ect turbo junk love your chanel nothing wrong with the v6 in the Tacoma just my opinion
60 mil FINE> Thousands of consumers complained to Toyota Motor Credit that dealers had lied about whether these products were mandatory, included them on contracts without the borrowers’ knowledge, or rushed through paperwork to hide buried terms. Nevertheless, Toyota Motor Credit devised a scheme to retain the revenue from these products by making it extremely cumbersome to cancel, and then failed to provide proper refunds for consumers who succeeded in cancelling. The company also falsely told consumer reporting companies that borrowers had missed payments, and it failed to correct consumer reporting errors it knew were wrong.
@@RobMotive a pro is no more than a premium off-road with the sport hood and a set of fox socks. That's it all the same tech nothing special. The 4 gen that's where there's more to it.
I'm an SR5 guy, and I don't want or need to pay thousands more for options I will never use! The SR5 is the best bang for your buck!

Good story👍
I do not like the hood scoop. I'd rather not have fake add ons and the blocked view.
I liked that it takes the turns standing up. No leaning.
Thank you for your video I’m looking for my first Tacoma and checking out what trims are best
That is why I like the off road I have, it rides so nice!
Absolutely 👍
I had 2 sport tacomas and one off road. I like the off road the best.

I wish they had an Xtracab TRD OffRoad
There’s a video on here showing a 2024 in Bronze Oxide on a trailer
@dennishoward7553 Could be a prototype. Production had not begun yet.
The trd sport has the fake hood scoop matching color mirrors and painted rear bumper. Chrome is out lol
2019 sr5 cavalry blue v6 soft top and ARB front bumper works for me
I’m interested in 2024 SR5 4x4.
Good choice👍
Just don’t plan on driving it farther than 120-150k without replacing the turbo. Conveniently enough the warranty runs out at 100k 😬
right on rob pick your color
Any color you want, as long as it's black! Henry Ford.
Lol! I remember reading that back when I was many moons younger….😁
Sr, sr5 if
You actually use your truck, as a truck. TRD, TRD pro are for guys who work inside and are easily impressed with tech gimmicks.
TRD OFF ROAD TACOMA I have one on order be here in 2 weeks can't wait
Bet you’re excited👍
@RobMotive
Yeah... I was T-bone in my Tundra so... !
Ouch!!😐
@RobMotive Yes I'm injured.... that's the worst part. Can't enjoy nothing
I hope you get well soon😬

Color matched?
You had the pro didn’t you , it was the voodoo blue?
Nope. TRD Off-Road 👍
SR for me. Don’t need or want all the gimmick tech junk.
Off-road with a sport hood is called a pro
Well shoot…let me stick one on my TRD off-road and I’ll sell it to you for $50K😂
