These guys are the best I started off with Chris Stuckman and ended up here 7 years ago! The lads are the kings of YT reviews 🙂👍. The only one I still watch is The meniacal cinophile aka Andy's boots to reboots.
Ian’s impression of the voice of the pig face person in the video had me lolling big time. Please never change you guys, you have surpassed yourselves with this series of Saw reviews 👊🏻 Smashing it! ❤
I did like how clever the old partner’s trap was. In the church AA scene, he tells Chris Rock how a glass and a bottle really hurts. The killer then decides make it literal.
Holy crap guys! If you’re gonna be reviewing what I think you will be come the 31st, you must’ve sweated spinal fluid to get that plus all of the Saw franchise thus far out in one month! Please take a well deserved break once you’re done 🤟🏻
@@dominick253they can be monetized. It is transformative enough for TH-cam. If it was too much footage it would just be copyright claimed. They'd more likely have monetization issues due to covering horror flicks and gore. I'm thinking about donating or buying something. I usually don't but these guys have such a giant and consistent catalog and they introduced me to Sorcerer so, that's deserving.
The parts where Chris Rock just goes into stand-up comedy bits are excruciating. It was nearly funny when Billy Crystal did it in City Slickers. Jarring as f*ck
It's been long road to get to this one and can't wait for you guys to review Saw X. I've been marathoning all your saw movies till this released. Thanks guys for this October special.
Been watching you guys for years sometimes when I’m really pissed off and having a really bad day all I do is put one of your videos on always makes me laugh. Thank you for the entertainment
He wouldn't even have been able to remain on the force for telling on another fellow cop. If a cop breaks the "blue codes," they get constantly harassed, assigned to dangerous places, other cops will pull them over and ticket them, and it just becomes so stressful they have to quit. Or they'll find a reason to fire you. However some have even ended up dead depending on the circumstances. That's what happens to the good cops out there.
Every time I hear the pig/video voice, all I can hear is the p.a. from Dawn of the Dead: "Attention shoppers.....if you have a sweet tooth, we've got a deal for you"
yeah i'm not sure who thought that would be as intimidating as the jigsaw version. i understand wanting to seperate it and try to have it's own thing... but dang.
In regards to the cop who takes off and never comes back, I have a theory he was in a trap towards the 3rd act when Sam Jackson is walking through the warehouse. There's a cut where he looks clean then cuts to a different looking location and he's got someone's blood on him. I think that cop who left was in a trap to distract Jackson before he's knocked out
My honest favourite part of this movie was when Chris Rock grabs the flowers and shuts the door on his partner like "the fuck out of here" I laughed so hard the first time I saw it just cuz I was looking for anything to enjoy
Hi guys. Thanks for the Saw series film reviews. The next film series to review which you mentioned earlier in this series should be: Paranormal Activity including Tokyo Night!
Thank you Gary and Iain. Thank you for watching this film so I don’t have to. Also Chris Rock’s character is called Ezekiel? So like Jules quote in Pulp Fiction using Ezekiel 25:17…….subtle 🤦🏼♂️
Great review again guys. Even though I really enjoyed Spiral, a lot of your criticisms are on point - they just didn't bother me too much. I thought Chris Rock got better as the movie progressed , but for the first 30 minutes he was just playing himself. But my biggest issue was Spiral's voice. As soon as Zeke's new partner turned up, I immediately connected his wimpy voice to the one on the tape. And of course they should have created a better looking puppet. Despite all that, I had a great time with this one, and thought this was a direction they should have followed up on. The traps were meant to teach an object lesson to the people finding the aftermath, not the poor shmucks who were doomed from the moment they woke up 😀 A Spiral franchise would have opened all sorts of possibilities.as the emphasis was on changing the system. We could have ended up with a scenario like the latest Batman movie, where Spiral just decides to destroy everything as its too far gone to be reformed. Anyway, before I end up writing a bloody thesis, I hope you review Saw X. I initially hated the fact that they fell back on to the original timeline as a safe option, but boy did they prove me wrong! Saw X has received universal praise from lovers of the franchise, and for good reason...
I'm trying my best to stay awake but I don't think i will make it 😅.Thanks anyway for this review...when I heard spiral I must admit I gritted my teeth and made that face (you all know which one) anyways no bother keep on trucking through boys you are doing well. Lots of respect from NZ. 👊
Damn, and I thought Jigsaw got slammed, and I heard good things about Spiral. But you guys definitely let it out and and I'm glad your not afraid to show it. Don't know if Saw X is for Halloween considering it just came out earlier in theaters, but either way I'm very happy with how the month turned out.
I hadn't watched Spiral before two days ago. I gave it a watch so I could keep up with these reviews... I should've just watched this video and not the film. 😂
I'm not defending "Spiral", but some of y'all's criticisms seem to really miss the point. 1 - Cops are that bad, that's not exaggerated, that's not over-the-top. Cops holding a grudge against another cop 12 years after he turned in his corrupt partner? The only unrealistic thing about that is that the good cop would still be on the force 12 years later. 2 - He's not jigsaw, why are you so mad that he didn't give his victims a chance like jigsaw would've? That was jigsaw's style; the new guy was all about punishing corrupt cops... you know, because a corrupt cop murdered his father in front of him? Kinda makes sense he'd be more brutal even than jigsaw.
While this started with good intentions and served to bring back the franchise after 4 years, they made all the wrong decisions, and misunderstood the concept of saw, with a super basic script, and no proper performances or a true attachment to the saw series
Call me crazy....never 'saw' the flick....from this review, I kept waiting for Chris Rock to say a punchline. Comedy to horror is a hard line to cross in one step. Drama is the intermediary
*”Comedy and horror is a hard line to cross in one step.”* Comedy and horror are opposite sides of the same coin. So when done right, it works great. With comedy, you have a punchline. With horror, you have a payoff which serves as a sort of punchline whether that be a jump scare or some other reveal. A Two Sentence Horror is like the inversion of a joke. And it could also easily be made fun of with a joke with a follow up quip.
This was the only saw film I enjoyed since the first one, I liked how it was it’s own thing and not part of the complete mess that had become the franchise, plus I like Chris rock
I didn’t mind the voice, it reminded me of the f society videos from mr robot, I also just thought the killer would use a standard text to speech to make it more realistic and untraceable
I like the ending of this film its a shame it doesn't earn it by being enjoyable. That's how the police operate these days, I mean nothing has changed since Night of the Living Dead. this is one of those 'production movies' where any chance of a good film were lost in non creative decision making. like there was a cool hotline miami movie buried in there somewhere.
@@VillaBoys123 Goodfellas didn’t need the potential to be a pretty good movie because it already was based on the source material. And had great characters and acting. Did you read my previous comment? (Rhetorical)
Without a doubt, the black sheep of the series. Chris Rock was one of the biggest problems. Putting him (a stand up comedian) in a serious horror film, is like putting Jim Carry in a Law & Order episode. I didn't find Chris Rock that believable in the role. The killer was too obvious, the acting from the others were "ok," but over all, a real bland movie. Skip it and ignore it,
@unropednope4644 I liked it. I'd put it at least top 5 of them. Maybe 4. Couple things don't really make sense but that's part of all these movies. So. The mid credit scene was cool.
@torquetheprisoner the lore wasn't the issue. The problem was everything else just being worse overall. The soundtrack, sound effects, the traps, the story, the characters.... just everything has been done better in every other sequel
If Samuel L Jackson is really like that with director’s then my opinion of him has lessened slightly. That’s holly unprofessional. Like a footballer thinking he’s bigger than the manager and club.
OMG....Another Saw-movie....is this nr 8 or 9 ? This is just getting like a parody! But, great review guys! I really hope the Saw-movies really comes to an end.. what more can they make? more gore or more horryfying methods to kill people? Chris Rock?!? What a piece of shit-work of movie! should never been released! Sorry....
I tried watching this for the first time last night in anticipation of this upcoming review...yeah take focus on the word tried ..terrible acting especially from Chris rock piss poor traps and boring

13:04 I bursted out laughing when Chris Rock's character shouted "I want everything!" He sounded like a seven-year-old who wants candy.

The hot captain is Audrey Griswold from Vegas Vacation😅❤
Samuel L Jackson, last I heard, was supposed to be in the blob reboot.

The voice and video seem more like Kermit trying to impersonate/cosplay Miss Piggy for The Muppet parody of Saw.
Not gonna lie I love these two lol they are so good at these reviews that I go watch every movie they talk about
25:38 Similar to how Johns cap was backwards in part 7.
spiral is the only saw movie I haven't seen more than once. just doesn't pull me back for a second watch.

A trap in this movie should have been the tossed salad man.
Gary's massive sigh when Ian said the new partner is the killer 😂😂😂😂😂😂
It was so easy to to guess and I was done at that point
@darkcornersuk I had three guesses, either the female cop the new guy or unlikely but I also thought about the dad
Uzumaki (2000) - that’s a good spiral… 🌀
I recommend Spiral, the sequel to Ring.
