Aside from the fact that Gary and his team lay into Disney like no other channel I have ever seen…one thing I appreciate most is how they clearly explain a product’s flaws and failures better than any other channel I have come across.
It’s funny that Chris mentioned the “kitchen sink” analogy when, in Revenge of The Sith, when Lucas saw the chaos of the opening sequence, he commented to the vfx crew that they threw everything in there except the kitchen sink. So as a joke, they animated a kitchen sink hurtling into a Republic cruiser in the Final Cut. It’s small and subtle, but it’s there. I miss when Star Wars was fun even for the people working on it.
I remember watching ROTS and feeling so many emotions. I remember once it was over the 6 movies was a circuit to me. A fascinating thing was that when I realized that episode 3 was being put out on DVD I had bought it and I had taken the first sets of movies and I had given them to my sister and brother-in-law because I was getting ready to move but after Revenge of the Sith and then I heard it was going to be out and I thought okay I need to go to the store I went to buy myself an episode 2 and then I looked for Phantom Menace and could not find it anywhere. I went to every store that normally sells movies from Walmart Kmart everywhere out to Blockbuster even they had nothing for sale that was Phantom Menace. I had to buy it off eBay it was that I wasn't sure cuz I asked him I said did everyone come in here looking at buying The Phantom Menace cuz that's the only thing that would have made sense why it there wasn't it was nowhere and they said no they had nobody asking for it but but after when I knew that it was finally going to come out even though I watched it five times in the theater there was always something extra that I knew there was something that was in there that was going to be something I missed and even afterwards three or four times a day I could do just because there was so much going on each one of those lightsaber duels was completely different they weren't exactly the same and compared to what Disney garbage has made I mean forget about it Revenge of the Sith the greatest lightsaber duels ever nobody will ever come close to that that to me is perfect

I have a feeling that when they finished principle production, someone said "I get the idea you pitched, but that's not what was filmed" and they had to go back and start doing reshoots to try and make things make sense. I also believe that all of the script contradictions that were in pretty much every episode were AI interpretation of 'subverting expectations' because that's how AI does it.

I bet that wasn't Plagueis... that was one of Plagueis' moms! My theory on why Sol's English got worse is that the scenes in Episode 7 were filmed first. So he'd practiced his lines but didn't understand what anyone was saying, and that's why things like his laugh when the Aes Sedai... I mean Jedi Trinity mocked him for not having a padawan, was so unnatural and disconnected.

Well as someone who even in my youth recognized my bad writing, I would say a TON of boring scenes that drag on and do nothing, not even really develop characters, just rambling and pushing plot points without a care for logic or in character knowledge as opposed to author knowledge. I could go on but you get the point. It is why I am terrified to write again, I fear that even knowing what i do I will make my own Acolyte crapfest.
Anyone remember Sleepy Hollow? How it had such wonderful potential but, instead of using a three and five episode arch, they used a one episode arch and everything felt rushed? It at least told a story that can be accepted by most people who see it.

I keep fluctuating wildly in my views whether the show is mostly incompetent, or mostly spiteful. Some of it is clearly just badly done. Some of it is devious, cynical, morally inverted and executed with a degree of arrogance and hauteur on-screen and off- that it is hard to see simple dumbness in it.
They only were focus on the spiteful things just to not care about making a competent series... There's a movie from 2021 called I Care A Lot with Rosamund Pike and Peter Dinklage about two rotten women, a couple, who put old people on care centers while robbing them, in the end you left with a bad taste in the mouth for how spiteful it got picture the couple like cool girl bosses but you could see it this movie was made with competency compared to this trash from Star Wars 😅

This was foreshadowing. They pulled Darth Plagueis the Wise out of his cave because they showed Darth Osha the Dumb. Osha is on the light, Damask is in the shadow, this shows that they are opposites. Clever move to tell us what nickname Osha will have without telling it directly.
They didn't even have green baldy fight anyone with her light whip. She only killed a bug with it. After they made such a big deal about it, I expected her to actually fight someone.
For MCU, instead of re-casting Thor, they should just bring in Masterson/Thunderstrike with a new actor, the Wyatt Russell USAgent, and a re-cast War Machine. They could use Terminatrix Objective storyline to re-set all of this. Get RDJ, Evans and Hemsworth back for one big movie, and to pass the torch. They could also write out Kang and bury that storyline in the same move. Yes, these characters wouldn't be the originals, but they have a long and respected history in the comics, and as such, have developed characters. They are not gender-swapped, colour-swapped, race-swapped copies or stand-ins from failed comic-lines. Just a thought....

When I first heard there was an announced project called THE ACOLYTE, I assumed that in the interest of giving fans what they'd want, this would be their adaptation of the Darth Plagueis novel. If they'd just used that book as a blueprint, they could have given us something that would have been 'The Godfather' or the 'Goodfellas' of the Star Wars IP, it was that cool of a story. But since Disney understands who their real audience is (angry TH-camrs), we got the sh!t we got. Scr3w these people.
I concede this example I'm gonna say has a lot of written lore being the longest anime/manga today, but compare how Netflix's One Piece developed their principal protagonists in only 8-9 episodes doing so a great job that normies left the series with little doubts about them and wanting more, and now see the horrible job in The Acolyte where nothing makes sense, their characters were poorly written, and everything happens BECAUSE THE PLOT SAY SO!! I keep fluctuating wildly in my views whether the show is mostly incompetent, or mostly spiteful. Some of it is clearly just badly done. Some of it is devious, cynical, morally inverted and executed with a degree of arrogance and hauteur on-screen and off- that it is hard to see simple dumbness in it.
They only were focus on the spiteful things just to not care about making a competent series...
There's a movie from 2021 called I Care A Lot with Rosamund Pike and Peter Dinklage about two rotten women, a couple, who put old people on care centers while robbing them, in the end you left with a bad taste in the mouth for how spiteful it got picture the couple like cool girl bosses but you could see it this movie was made with competency compared to this trash from Star Wars 😅

I’m here five days later to report that Gary 1000% nailed it. redlettermedia released a video last Tuesday night pretending it’s awful when in the first video they were unsure of the crowd and spent 90 minutes of 2 hour video talking about how wacky the culture war around the show was. RLM is quickly losing my respect.
Never forget, they also waited to release a video on Indy 5 and only after everyone hated it did they then give it a middling review.

They didn't even have green baldy fight anyone with her light whip. She only killed a bug with it. After they made such a big deal about it, I expected her to actually fight someone.
For MCU, instead of re-casting Thor, they should just bring in Masterson/Thunderstrike with a new actor, the Wyatt Russell USAgent, and a re-cast War Machine. They could use Terminatrix Objective storyline to re-set all of this. Get RDJ, Evans and Hemsworth back for one big movie, and to pass the torch. They could also write out Kang and bury that storyline in the same move.
Yes, these characters wouldn't be the originals, but they have a long and respected history in the comics, and as such, have developed characters.
They are not gender-swapped, colour-swapped, race-swapped copies or stand-ins from failed comic-lines.

Game of Thrones did it right. They went back in time and added diversity that didn't take away from the story. These people needed to take their time and understand the audiance. This was a show for their Hollywood club. This is the creativity in Hollywood...its done

When I first heard there was an announced project called THE ACOLYTE, I assumed that in the interest of giving fans what they'd want, this would be their adaptation of the Darth Plagueis novel.
If they'd just used that book as a blueprint, they could have given us something that would have been 'The Godfather' or the 'Goodfellas' of the Star Wars IP, it was that cool of a story.
But since Disney understands who their real audience is (angry TH-camrs), we got the sh!t we got. Scr3w these people.
I concede this example I'm gonna say has a lot of written lore being the longest anime/manga today, but compare how Netflix's One Piece developed their principal protagonists in only 8-9 episodes doing so a great job that normies left the series with little doubts about them and wanting more, and now see the horrible job in The Acolyte where nothing makes sense, their characters were poorly written, and everything happens BECAUSE THE PLOT SAY SO!! (kudos to Thorias Unlimited)
Moreso, both series were diverse enough but only one was well received and loved 😅
