Basically, when air (which is considered a fluid) passes over a ball, it sticks to the grooves so that it can pass relatively linearly over the ball. BUT, when the surface is too smooth, the airflow unsticks from the ball and creates "chaotic flow" (basically just turbulence) When the air unsticks the ball swerves, its quite literally a knuckleball effect. The usual method is choosing referees from different countries and/or confederations than the teams. Qatar is in Asia and Morocco is in Africa so it is in line with any other match. FIFA does not pick referees based in religion, that would be kinda effed up. You can't just pick employees based in their personal beliefs. It's also kinda effed up that you bring referee religion in this case, but are totally fine with a christian arbiter in the Morocco-France game. It makes me think your problem is not about referees sharing religion with one team, but about them being Muslims
Edit: I re-read your comment and by Arab you could also mean his race. That would be as effed up as if you meant his religion, maybe even more. All I said about religion also applies there (European arbiter in France-Morocco, etc)
