I used mechanical pencils a lot in school and also to sketch. I liked that I never needed to sharpen them and it also forced me to press down more lightly, because I had a bad habit of writing very dark and making deep grooves in my paper. I almost always had one and a sketchbook with me wherever I went. I still have mechanical pencils and small notebooks on my desk and craft spaces at all times. I have to take lots of notes because my memory is terrible, lol.
The pringles story is hilarious, and I can relate! My husband recently came into the bedroom after I had already laid down and said, “Babe, where’s my tortilla chips?” And I said “Ummm....I love you very much?” He was not pleased, but I bought him more so I think he forgave me 🤔😂
Doodle Date is 100% the most relatable and quotable art channel. 😂😂 Steph! You did a really, really good job! I completely relate to you wondering how he makes the lines look so good. I see other people’s drawings sometimes and I try to do a study of it and I look at MY drawing and I’m like, “WHAT THE BLOODY F* IS THIS??” But you did sooooooo good, Steph! WOW! 😍

Was so happy to see you two doing this challenge since you two have such different styles. Not only that, but it always intrigued how other people have such a hard time mimicking other styles. The reason being that I used to be known as a mimic artist by my friends since I was able to mimic their and others drawings/art style really well. Was honestly hoping that Steph was going to have to water color a picture the way Adam does since he usually waters it down so much.

Steph's drawing really looks like a combination of both styles. I really really like it! Absolutely romantic! (Adam's obviously looks more like his own, hehe)
I have trouble being heavy handed and calligraphy, along with Zentangle with brush pens and the Tombow Fudenoske pens, has helped me both with being lighter, AND with my over all line weight variation over all ^-^
Poor Steph, this is so sad...no pretty colors or new art supplies to swatch, nothing but a scrawny *pencil* to work with. The struggle is real. Adamo has eaten her Pringles AND made her create with a teeny tiny scratchy stick. His revenge for the diarrhea curse is complete and then some, LOL.
