The Culture for Childs on the male side only applies to the main char. The brothers will have the split-system, where male kids get dads culture and female kids get moms. Tested today 1.1.1

I think it's actually random for nieces & nephews. Can't check right now so I'll edit this later if I'm wrong but I remember my brother's first son having an Aserai af name and getting so confused when he had empire culture. 2nd kid was a daughter with Aserai culture.

Good point - mentioning that one can just ignore the main quest line.
It was so strange to frequently stumble upon people's comments like "I play sandbox instead of compaign because i hate the main quest line". Like cmon dude, just ignore it.
So I found out you can cheese army siege defences with the new ambush mechanic. After ambushing the siege support, wait for reinforcements to appear and kill the army leader, after retreating it considers it a successful defence and disbands army, defeating every hero in the process. They had over double my army size.

Made me think - if you starve out a garrison and the loyalty dropped below 25 would it just be yours with no fight? I wonder how common they scenario is
not common, but 100% correct, you would get it for doing nothing
From my experience castles are immune to this, though. Militia never seems to despawn in castles, but this should work if you starve/loyalty out a town.
Hey, just to share a data point, am experiencing a scenario where kids’ cultureS are split between parents.
Main Character - Male Empire
Spouse - Khuzait
First 4 sons, Khuzait, the last son empire
Eldest son of course Khuzait, Spouse Empire,
1st Kid, Empire
2nd Kid, Khuzait
3rd Kid, Empire
4th Kid, Khzuzait.
Not complaining and I actually like this system where I can raise family members of a suitable culture to future towns

The children culture topic. When did this revert back? I had a play through where I was sturgeon culture, but married Arwa with Aserai Culture , all 3 kids was Aserai Culture, never got a sturgeon. My brother , I hooked up with a Battania culture, got 3 Battania kids. I just figured it was a mechanic for you to use later if you decide to take their territory, and atleast have a governor of that culture to start, of course when they come to age, but perks as they grow help tremendously towards that future territory… but I could be wrong.
I looked in 1.1.0 and it worked, are you on pc or console

if your not modding, raiding caravans, taking over gang alleys or prison breaks are the best ways

I wish capturing the king and holding onto him would make them surrender. Or if you kill the king they take longer to get armies together
Is it still possible to get -100%. Prisoner escape chance? If so, you could keep only leaders and make target kingdom pretty helpless
I've noticed that my party's keep kicking units not many just a few and they don't seem too lvl much and die if I don't have them in my army constantly I try too take there trash units and lvl them but it's getting ridiculous expensive wish they could have like a pet healer or something Couse they are so bad early on just almost lost a battle whit 200 advantage Couse I found out my clan parties don't really level much and there healing is so bad they just keep loosing good units
it is a priority for me to get low level people to get them levels so then can get some steward, medicine and a tiny leadership. Once they get 75 medicine for doctors oath then their medicine will fly, For the not leveling, that is just natural for the game and yes very firstrating
Hi just started playing a few weeks ago and was wondering how do you increase relations with enemies? I can’t seem to do quest for them? I can’t be a mercenary since I own a fief now.
prison breaks, and easiest is releasing them after battle. Once your a vassal voting for them in decisions gives a lot also

If we have steal a fief without being an kingdom or vessel then can we still become merc? If we do then do we loose our fief?
You can't become a merc if you own a fief

@@shlokkumar9743 yes, as long as the minor clan isnt at part of a kingdom you can war with them, but if they are then you start war with the kingdom so just to make sure they are independent. I always look out for quests and tournaments if not at war to make extra money

a captain can only have 1, the other people are just in the formation
@@flesson19_Guides i know that much😅. no, what i meant was, do for example your + troop movement banner buffs stack with the captains perks from the character
@@tuetensuppe6399 I think so. I got my infantry so fast with perks and banners I can't keep up with them, even with 150ish athletics

So anyone has any advice on marriages? As I just really hate the new fog of war mechanism in regards to people you haven't met yet as it doesn't even tell you the age of the characters in question and I am somewhat tired of reloading time and time again because my 18 year old brother/son has been given a 58 year old wife. Is there an option to disable it that I am unaware of? As that feature adds nothing in my opinion and is just extremely annoying, especially with death/ births enabled and when companion hunting. Also it is just so infuriatingly badly implemented (e.g. when you come across an army, why on earth do you have to speak with every single individual to discover them? Why don't you discover them when you engage in battle? Etc.)
if you mod there is a "know me" mod that will discover anyone. If not, no your stuck. without previous knowledge then its possible to get stuck with older ones

How do the cultural children work in 1.1.4?
Your children will always be your culture. Any other in the entire game its random of either parent
I feel like kids should have a random chance of being the mothers or the fathers culture. Like how peoples kids can look more like the mother or the father.

Was wondering if someone could answer my question for some reason I can’t find the khans new armor found the arm braces in “vlandia” which is stupid in my opinion but I can’t seem to find the khans armor it spawn in when I was playing for the empire but when I’m playing my khuzait story now it all of sudden doesn’t want to spawn please help
Its rng based but the chance is tied to prosperity so try checking settlments with high prosperity
Does it spawn anywhere else but khuzait or just their territory
There’s a couple of cities that haven’t been attacked or anything like makeb and chaikland I think that’s how you say it just having trouble kinda annoying in a way
Yeah it only spawns in khuzeit cities i was hunting for roman helmet whole game but couldnt find it, in second campagin found it in 5 years so its just luck

Thanks so much for the info. I was under the impression that kids were still their Mother's culture, the fact they changed that makes me want to restart lol.
Does anyone know if starting faction bonuses (like reduced garrison costs for empure/increased movement speed in forest for battania) are permanent? Like if I pick Battania but then play as my Sturgian culture heir, will they still have the movement speed bonus or would it switch to Sturgian infantry cost reduction? I would test myself but this stuff takes a long time on console
