    Thanks. Sorry, are you saying your Note Air 3 C has a 2.4 rather than 2.8 GHz processor? I know Boox advertise it as coming with a 2.4 but lots of people seem to be claiming that running Geekbench on it shows their device having a 2.8 GHz processor.
    Also, presumably another con of this device - unless I missed you saying that - is its much shorter battery life than the Note Air 2/+. However, I imagine that many users will find that manageable - they just have to charge it more often than they do their Kindles or some other e-tablets but then e Note Air 3 C is so much more than a Kindle or Remarkable 2, etc. I am enjoying mine for sure.

  • @edwintam2349

    Does the Boox Note Air 3 C (or any other e-ink tablet) have an "annotation summary" feature? I review long academic papers, theses, and reports, and I noticed that the Kindle Scribe that I'm borrowing to try out has a nice feature for collecting all annotations: it only shows the pages that I made a handwritten note on, and I get to see the page and mark up in miniature so that when I compose my critique, I can look only at my comments *in context* so that I easily formulate my reply. I have a Remarkable 2, and I don't think it has such a feature. Notability on my iPad has a similar feature for summarizing annotations, but I have to type the annotation and that breaks the rhythm (write by hand, then type). I prefer to "write directly on the report" rather than writing in some sort of annotation breakout box. Thanks!

    • @KitBetts-Masters
      @KitBetts-Masters  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah it do, you can have either the on page scribbles or the full text annotations exported as a pdf.

    Don’t underestimate the Ultra C Pro performance - the 855 SOC is far more powerful than the one in the 3C. It benchmarks more than twice as fast in all areas. However, in reality it doesn’t *feel* that much faster, because it’s the e-ink screen that is the bottleneck in everyday use. For me it’s clearly the better option as I use a keyboard and mouse far more than I write with a pen. The 3C is the better choice if you do a lot of handwriting, because of the textured screen (which does make it less sharp than the Pro though).

    • @cjermo
      @cjermo 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Has the 855 been confirmed? I have seen some speculation that this is the case, and it lines up with the AnTuTu score in the Boox presentation, but I've heard the 685 too. If it's 680 vs 685 I'm going 3C due to the more textured screen (no intention of the using the keyboard - I'd rather use my low-profile mechanical KB), but if it's 680/685 vs 855 that's a very different story. I don't need it to be a powerhouse, but literally twice the performance is difficult to pass up.
      Does anyone know if there's a way to apply the texture layer from the 3C to toe Ultra C (Pro)?

    • @bluein2red423
      @bluein2red423 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@cjermo Yes it's the 855. I have a Pro and have posted benchmarks on Reddit in the Boox subreddit (also as a comment to MyDeepGuide's recent performance video on TH-cam).

    I have been watching your new and old videos on e-ink devices for weeks as I try to determine what to buy. First off, they are great! Second, what would you recommend for strictly Note Taking. I do not care about any other features as I am at my PC with Ultrawide Monitors a majority of the time which is just more efficient for my daily work. I would love to replace all my sticky notes and notebooks though with a digital notebook. Hoping for some advice and thanks in advance!

      Thanks for the really nice comment. I love the Boox Note Air 3 C for notes, but if it is just notetaking that you need then the remarkable is still brilliant purely for that, the supernote is a great platform, and also the scribe is the best budget entry into e-ink note taking now.

      @KitBetts-Masters  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hope that helps, or does it add to the confusion. I also think if you might branch out to doing more on your e-ink device it make sense to go Boox because then you can install apps and diversify your use later on.

I hope this makes sense

    I've been looking at getting an E-ink tablet for note taking and journaling when I start school next year. How does this Boox Note Air 3 C stack up against the SuperNote A5X? It'll just be a companion device for notes and annotating.

    I'm still working on my Supernote A5X and am wondering if it is time for an upgrade. I have a laptop for productivity, so that is not what I'm looking for. But I use my A5X for lots of note taking and noodling (thinking). What I like about it is the table of contents, which is useful particularly as my notes grow longer. Oh, getting so close to having a device worth replacing my iPad! What do you think about the likely longevity of the textured screen? It means you can’t use a screen protector, so I’m worried that it will end up with scratches and worn-down patches, certainly within the minimum 5-8 year life I’d expect of a device at this cost.

    • @karlmunford7000
      @karlmunford7000 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Reminds me of the shiny keys that appear on a year or so old laptop, I can see the same appearing on these screens but the thing I'd be more concerned about is the battery cycle count... before or after that is reached the device wont hold a day's charge. Most computer batteries nose dive at around a thousand cycles, and if you're recharging your device every day you've got about three years.
      Supernote are likely to offer their new A5X2 later this year with a replaceable battery, but as an A5X user you need to know they have taken a very different route to Boox, and wouldn't suite you if you're looking for an iPad replacement.
      No one is talking about this cycle count issue, maybe they know something I don't... but if it is an issue people need to know about it before purchasing.

      There are essentially two versions of the SoC that they have bought for this device, one has as slightly higher clock single core.
