    Hello Stephen Brokalis, Awesome job you and your team did. Keep serving the Lord with your talents he gave you. I did have a question, what is that thing you used for wire management under the desk?

    how much did it cost to remodel it? (obviously keeping the old gear) but like getting new boards, cord organizers etc.

    • @stephenbrokalis4707
      @stephenbrokalis4707  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cord organizers are like $15/each 6ft section on Monoprice.
      Other than that, the actual remodel didn't really cost much. The most significant factor is labor... It took us more than 200 man-hours, which at minimum wage is $1,500. But this level of work is worth more than $10,000.
      There were a bunch of technical projects and purchases that went into this before hand. I designed and installed the new broadcast system for $12k. The two racks ended up being $600. After this remodel, we installed a brand new video routing system for $6k. That's just to name a few things. During the couple of years I worked at this church, I spent around $50k on much-needed production upgrades.

    Love the video and remodel Stephen! Thanks for sharing. I like how you've mounted the computers to the back wall, but I'm just wondering how the operators power the computers on?

    • @stephenbrokalis4707

      Hey Phil! Thank you! The white mount was laying around I'm not sure where we got it. But the mounts for the computer on the left were just cheap brackets from Home Depot, probably bicicle mounts. Sorry I don't have specifics.
      For turning on and off the computers we installed two of these:
      They plug into the motherboard headers and let us turn on and off the computers from a button ontop of the desk.

      Neither would I. This rack was used since the church was built decades ago and I thought it wouldn't hurt to reuse in the new design with a new paint job.

  • @retrogamestudios7649

    Wouldn't all that cost be better off for the community

    • @stephenbrokalis4707
      @stephenbrokalis4707  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      “All that cost” was a very small portion of the annual budget. This churches money is allocated in all shorts of ways to help those in need. Production equipment is just like building and maintenance cost… if there is no building then there wouldn’t be a church helping the community to begin with. Same goes for production, no one would make donations if they couldn’t see or hear the pastor.
