By doing the type of cutbacks you show in this video you are dropping down to the dead part of the wave and then riding back up it. Trim Tip: Try shifting your weight back to slow the board down (the opposite of placing your weight forward to speed up) so that you can STAY in the critical part of the wave directly next to the curl/whitewash. This is a lot of fun and allows you to really control where you are in the wave and sets you up for being able to perform a lot of additional maneuvers - including dragging your hand along the face of the wave. Nice. Yes, I definitely like the feeling of surfing off my trail leg and stalling the board to stay in the critical part of the wave… I think that’s mostly what surfing is, just constantly doing the manoeuvres and adjustments to stay in the curl🤙🤙 Thanks for the advice and the stoke 🤩
