The fact that they had the spider trapped shows experience in handling it, probably used them before.

I was in Cebu for two weeks to meet a Filipina. After months of video chatting and talking about how her life would be in the US with me . After getting there she wants me to date her friend. Turns out she was married and had been playing this game for years . Making money from foreigners and having them their shopping day trips . This seems to be an industry in the Philippines.

@@FlyMeToThePhilippines i really want to know what type of spider it was and how dangerous it is. I can't beliieve the Dr. didn't take it to the police or somewhere to have it identifiied and to find out how likely it is to be deadly or if it's just usually causing a bit of sickness. Either keeping it in the bag is a major sign or guilt, there's no reason why someone would do that unless it they have negative intent. In this case the police should've made them take a polygraph test because even though it wouldn't hold up in courty they could at least find out if the girls believed they were guilty and see what the plan was.

I had a scary situation in Clark philippines back in June 2023. I met a family at the mall in clark. They started talking to me and invited me over to their house for a traditional philipino dinner. They ended up wanting me to play a cards game with some people that should up with briefcases full of money. They wanted me to use U.S. Dollars to play. I am not a gambler, ran out of there and jumped into the 1st jeepny I saw. That night my stomach was terribly sick! I was up all night sitting on the toilet and vomiting.

Men, this is why it's absolutely vital to develop an abundance mindset, once you realze there are plenty of other options out there for you then you'll be very likely to walk away at the frist signs that something suspicious is going on. in my 20s i had a scarcity mindset and if a reasonably attractive woman claimed to love me then i'd put up with way to much to keep her but in my 30s i developed an abundance mindset and i'm not willing to put up with disrespectfull or suspicious behavior because i know i've always got options, and that makes it much easier for women to actually respect me now that they see i've got options and boudaries!!!

This is actually the second story of have heard of similar nature. There was an expat who went to province to meet his girlfriend so he was told that her brother died and she is taking care of her kids and she was living in the house with her cousin who was helping her with the kids. he stayed with them for a while and he was actually having sex with her while everyone else was in the other room. He made friends with the lady neighbor when he was doing his walks and one day she calls him over and says you seem to be a nice guy, I got to tell you something. That guy is not her cousin it is her husband and those are their kids.
In this story I don't buy the spider story. Spiders generally don't kill you, even though the bite could be very painful. He was definitely scammed but luckily he found out early and they didn't take him for a ride.

Hopefully you and Chrissy have discussed and agreed upon details of your new living situation. As a 1/2 Filipino I’ve seen many times here in the states that when the wife’s family moves in there are problems. It doesn’t seem to matter if the husband is Filipino or not. No problem with her son. He’s a part of her so if you want her, he’s part of the package. It’s when the wife’s parents, siblings, aunts/uncles, cousins, etc…move in. For many Filipinas her original family comes first and then you. Some Filipinas can’t say no to demands by her family and they take over. If it’s just her mom that moves in that seems to be ok. Most Lola’s are pleasant. It’s with some of the fathers where the conflict arises. Why? He’s used to being in charge and since you’re with his daughter, maybe he feels that you should be under him….even if you’re the provider. If you’ve noticed, many Filipinas are the family bread winner, but the father or husband still solely decides how the money is spent. If you don’t buckle under he might pressure your wife into making you comply, which causes conflict within your relationship. Like I said, hopefully you’ve already discussed this and have agreed to set boundaries.

I'm a doctor and what your guest described is consistent with poison and sepsis. Both deadly. Also healing duration is consistent with reported severity of the bite. A spider's "poison" is a cocktail of enzymes meant to dissolve prey so they can ingest the liquefied organs. Necrosis or cell death in the generalized area of the bite would be expected, thus the extended healing due to excessive scar tissue. Things could have been much worse if the bite was in a critical area such as the neck or if the venom was injected into a vein and not muscle tissue as it obviously was.

The story sounds exaggerated or completely fabricated. The one biggest hole that I'm surprised you didn't catch is he has the deadly spider in the ice cream container. That's like the murder weapon. When going to the police he would have taken the ice cream container with him as evidence. They would then be able to identify the spider and know if it could cause his bite. And then that would have been enough to arrest the gf and her lover for attempted murder.

When a country and its people are taken advantage of for decades by the Spanish, Japanese and American military occupiers and tourists in general from all over the world, is it really any wonder that some have the mindset to take advantage of those who have historically taken advantage of them? Most of the story seems plausible to me, but I don't believe the part about the spider. I did some research. The spider can only be a tarantula. Tarantulas are very shy, they only attack humans when they feel threatened. When they bite in defence, they do not usually inject venom into the wound, let alone digestive juices, as they sometimes do with their prey.
I consider a tarantula to be a very poor murder weapon because it is unpredictable and unlikely to harm a sleeping person. If I understood the description of the wound correctly, tissue was missing and blood vessels were visible. The bite of a tarantula can be poisonous, but the area then swells, no tissue is missing.
I'm no expert, but what about rats? Hungry rats have nibbled on sleeping humans.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you both for the interesting and exciting content. I wish you all the best and continued success!

Most locks have four pins with nine possible settings so having a key from home fitting the lock is like winning the lottery. Spiders don't attack, they only bite if they are threatened. Sometimes a spider will be in the bed and will bite if they are about to be smashed, but just releasing a spider into a house would not cause it to bite. In addition a medical doctor from the US wouldn't go to a provience doctor for a persciption since he would just get it from the pharmacy himself. It's really not that hard to spot a girl dressed like a boy and he spent too much time with the "brother" to not see that. I call BS on this story in total.

You're right about everything except the pharmacy part. The Philippines unlike the rest of South East Asia has strict controls on most medicine and will not sell even common antibiotics without a prescription. The doctor was a moron with no common sense, a book smart nerd with no experience in the real world which left him unprepared for this family of criminals and liars.

Only exception would been if a marriage was performed, without being registered.
Then the CENOMAR paper would claim the person is single (not married).
And legally she/he is single according to ph laws.
But it is illegal to marry without registeringering the marriage.
BUT in several groups in the ph, they sometimes do not register the marriages with the gov. (For various reasons).
Religiously they are considered married. But legally they are not.
And you will not get that accurate info on the CENOMAR then.
But this mostly applies to more specific tribes, and in subculture tribes where arranged marriages under 18 yr old, and where have incorrect birth certificates, etc, etc, etc.

A Certificate of No Marriage Record (CENOMAR) is simply what its name implies. It is a certification issued by the PSA stating that a person has not contracted any marriage. Also called a certificate of No Record of Marriage or Certificate of Singleness.
In legal definitions for interpersonal status, a single person is someone who has never been married. A person who was previously married and was divorced or widowed is usually considered an "unmarried" person. If a marriage is annulled, however, or it is found to have been void ab initio (i.e. not valid in law to start with), and assuming the person was not married previously, that individual is single, rather than unmarried.
When requesting for a CENOMAR, the interested party shall provide the following information to facilitate verification and issuance of certification.
      CENOMAR (Certificate of No Marriage)
      Complete name of the person
      Complete name of the father
Complete maiden name of the mother
      Date of birth
      Place of birth

I always have my phone locked but I know you can access the camera without the password on the lock screen. It allows you to take a video or photo but I didn't know you could access a recent image. Tried it and it does allow you to play display recent files. I never noticed this because I always move my files to subdirectories. It won't let you change from the default directory. As for the doctor, i'm afraid for his future. He sounds like my brother-in-law who has no common sense. Some people just see the world through rose colored glasses. I've always followed the rule that trust is earned and not automatically given. I'm surprised the doctor didn't photograph his wound and the spider. As well as the container in the backpack. That way you have some tangible proof and the very least you could send the photo of the spider to a specialist to confirm if it is a dangerous spider. Maybe I'm behind the times but having just met these people, I don't think I would even want to have just the girl staying with me . I'd rather take it slow and just meet her in public until I really know what she really is like. Psychos can seem normal at first but their true character generally leak out gradually. Your a lone stranger in a foreign country in a rural area. People disappear very easily out there. Better safe than sorry. Maybe the girl was not in on the spider part of the plan but she did apparently dupe her grandmother to participate in the scheme. It could of been just the girlfriend's jelousy showing. Aren't filipinas supposed to be famous for their jelous streak. If his plan was to stay for a month why would you buy all those appliances and utensils? I'd just plan to eat out while I was there.

They knew the spider can't open the container on its own. They knew he would be alone and where he slept. They knew he couldn’t/wouldn't leave without the only key. Upon returning, they knew he wasn't there and didn’t reach out. They knew the spider had to contained again. They knew he could be sick and didn't reach out. They showed no remorse - at all.
