At first glance you could think this is about them being proud and happy with themselves, about confidence. I don't think that is it though. I have no idea if my theory is correct, but the fact that the album is called VersuS VillainS makes me think it is not this simple. So I believe this song is meant as a criticism of narcissism, vanity, materialism and also (maybe) the fast fashion industry. "OOTD" stands for "Outfit of the Day" after all, maybe useless instagram influencers posting videos of their outfit of the day, which also promotes fast fashion.
The fact that fashion is moving ever faster is the most destructive industry to the planet apart from the fossil fuel industry. The Aral lake has all but disappeared because of the cotton industry for example. It would fit to the Villain image, and you can see in the MV that they are acting. It is shown in the scene where Yoohyeon and Handong are fighting, but then the camera is off and Handong helps Yoohyeon up.
The main reason why I don't think it is about confidence or their own success is the line "Driving on the highway, drunken everyday, do you feel like a monster?" and the album title. That just doesn't fit. And there was the ymenehcra account posting about touching a crown is dangerous and other cryptic messages before the comeback.
It could also be a big and well-hidden F*U to the Kpop industry, like the Nightmare arc probably was. The narcissism and materialism is definitely criticized here, and Dreamcatcher have been criticized a lot themselves because of their rock/metal concept, while other groups have been celebrated for using a guitar riff once in a song.
The music is highly interesting as well. There still is rock there, but dialed back. The song structure is not what you'd expect at all, for me it is punk rock meets K-Pop. Not their usual spiel, but a very good progression. It takes a couple of listens to really appreciate it.
The theme for this come back is narcissism. They are the villains this era. The lore is really deep even i cant follow it XD I just read through comments in youtube and twitter.
Someone created a mega thread on Reddit collecting everything for this lore. It’s massive 😂
The rock genre of this title song goes so well with punk rock in line with the concept of "Villains."

FYI, they haven't been Happyface Entertainment for a few years now. They renamed to Dreamcatcher Company... so really it's all about them.

i don't know if ootd actually fits the current trend, to me it seems like it has a different more important message like their previous songs. i think the song has dreamcatcher be the villains this time and it's actually criticizing flex culture and consumerism

The song after OOTD is Rising. That's my personal favourite and hard rocking number. OOTD has a Muse vibe to it. I don't know, I prefer the live version of this song compare to the studio version. My opinion only but I think the sound Engineering made their voices sounded weak but you can hear a lot difference in the live version. Don't hate me, fellow Somnias. I love Duekae and I stan them for life. Dreamcatcher is the DREAM. 🤘🥰🤘

You mention Happyface so I figure I'd ask, is Happyface still called Happyface? I heard they changed names to "Dreamcatcher Company"? If that's true, do they still have any other artists under their label?
Dreamcatcher Company is the Main Label now but they have a subsidiary Label named HF Music Company with the latest artist Hwang Sooyeon who debuted four weeks ago, she is also the Performance Director for Dreamcatcher, and the other soloist is Lee Si Eun and Model Lee Si An who appear in Idol School and Produce 48 ranked 30
