Lehi Discovers the Tree of Life | 1 Nephi 8:2-11

- Lehi tells his family about his vision in which he is met by a man dressed in a white robe who asks Lehi to follow him. Lehi follows the man into a ""dark and dreary waste."" After traveling for hours in the darkness, Lehi prays to the Lord for mercy. After praying, Lehi beholds a spacious field and a tree filled with sweet fruit that, when eaten, will make one happy. Lehi makes his way to the tree and eats the fruit.
Based on 1 Nephi 8:2-11:
2 And it came to pass that while my father tarried in the wilderness he spake unto us, saying: Behold, I have dreamed a dream; or, in other words, I have seen a vision.
3 And behold, because of the thing which I have seen, I have reason to rejoice in the Lord because of Nephi and also of Sam; for I have reason to suppose that they, and also many of their seed will be saved.
4 But behold, Laman and Lemuel, I fear exceedingly because of you; for behold, methought I saw in my dream, a dark and dreary wilderness.
5 And it came to pass that I saw a man, and he was dressed in a white robe; and he came and stood before me.
6 And it came to pass that he spake unto me, and bade me follow him.
7 And it came to pass that as I followed him I beheld myself that I was in a dark and dreary waste.
8 And after I had traveled for the space of many hours in the darkness, I began to pray unto the Lord that he would have mercy on me, according to the multitude of his tender mercies.
9 And it came to pass after I had prayed unto the Lord I beheld a large and spacious field.
10 And it came to pass that I beheld a tree whose fruit was desirable to make one happy.
11 And it came to pass that I did go forth and partake of the fruit thereof; and I beheld that it was most sweet, above all that I ever before tasted. Yea, and I beheld that the fruit thereof was white, to exceed all the whiteness that I had ever seen.

This last week has been a tough week for us! I am so thankful for these videos! They have brought us a lot of peace during this time! I love how our younger kids can learn from them too!
The Book of Mormon is beautiful and true. Lehi's dream has teachings for all.
The Urim and Thummim were used to translate the Book of Mormon the seer stone was used for modern revelation.
I love these videos, they help my feel the spirit so much.
We had some elder missionaries come visit us this passed Thursday and they encouraged me to include the good book in my daily life so that I might find my path once again, and these videos are the best source for me since reading only goes so far in my case.
Revelations 22:18 "I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues which are written in this book." Beware of the Book of Mormon it is another prophecy, added "words" which John of patmos warned us of!! Furthermore, the Apostle Paul said "But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! The Mormons and their Book is another gospel! Read only the Holy Bible for it is the living Word of God that will lead you to repentance and salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ.
@@SLynn-ud6vg Rather than being a contrary gospel, it's the original gospel that Jesus taught. Revelation 22:18 refers to the book of Revelation. Anyone who read it after John wrote it would have seen that clearly, particularly given that the Bible didn't exist until a few hundred years later. You should find out what the Book of Mormon really is, and you should learn about the great work that God is doing in our day through the Church of Jesus Christ.

I love Lehi's dream. We have this image hanging in our front room and it is one of my favorite stories of The Book of Mormon. "Lehi beholds a spacious field and a tree filled with sweet fruit that, when eaten, will make one happy. Lehi makes his way to the tree and eats the fruit. " He continues to move forward with faith. #FaithToAct

New, full-length videos are posted on Fridays. Any other video is shorter clip from a Friday video, probably so that they can easily be used as teaching aids.
