    This has to be one of the most fascinating delay units to date. Well done Strymon!

    Probably the best tape/drum emulation dsp delay out there. Incredibly versatile. I've just put mine on my Prophet 6, the warmth and depth it adds to this synth is unbelievable. It's like having a new synthesiser

    I had the El Cap and I absolutely loved it to death. I eventually sold it to fund the timeline. And while the timeline is great, I found myself a bit overwhelmed and never got nearly as much out of it. I loved my El Cap inside and out, and now that I can get that, with more options, midi capability, and full stereo (without the need for an adapter), I think I have to get it.

    MEGA UNIT: I’ve only just started to scratch the surface of it since getting it, these Demos are great and really help with experimenting with the knobs and perimeters and it sounds Incredible… Stellar Work Strymon ⭐️🌞⭐️🌞⭐️🌞👍🏻🙏👂

    Great new machine Strymon. But the hoards of synth-heads out there are lusting after some synth demos too. If possible. Anyhow, I’m sure this will be wonderful, whatever you put into it! 😀

    Funny. I initially thought studio might be boring and miss the character that drum and tape have. However in these 3 weeks I have volante, studio was by far the most useful, producing very modulated delays while staying as pristine and clean as can get. It has the cleannes of a digital delay but gibes me tape modulation wgich I appreciate so much. And having a pristine multihead option with stereo panning... My god its insane.
    I highly recommend using a timeline afterwarda. Volante has great delay seperation and the repeatsbdont really smear and bloom into each other. The self oscillation does not make a drony chorusy cloud like timeline. Timeline in general has more stereo width going on in the modulation itself (comparing with volante only using head 4) - which makes it the perfect spacing and ambience machine post volante. But costing timeline the pristineness and seperation that volante does so well
    Sadness for my bigsky and nightsky. I went from a reverb dude to an absolute delay lover. Nonother pedal gives me a stereo feel like volante plus timeline. Especially when having timeline digital delay with modulation. That is some chorusy flangy sound. I wish timeline dual had the same mod. Whilst of course its vibrato type of mod is cool but digital mod sounds gorgeous

    • @bentyreman5769
      @bentyreman5769 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      it could replace it but for me I'm never selling mine, the elcap is just too good to sell, I'd love to try both together when I get the chance.

      Ben Tyreman i feel the same way. This is going on the big board. El Cap on the small board. Everybody wins. I ordered mine today. It’s gonna be a long 30-60 days..

    Please do some demo vid of the SOS/Looper functions... Can SOS/looper be moved before/after delay like Timeline?

    • @strymon
      @strymon  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the feedback! The position of the SOS looper on Volante is fixed after the delay repeats and before the spring reverb.

    convince me why this is better than sticking with the software Echo Boy. (knob tweaking not included)

    • @Michael_Is_Avg
      @Michael_Is_Avg 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Really depends on application. I play live much more frequently than recording at home. I do have Echo Boy and it's phenomenal (and I know I will still use it in some aspects regardless as to if I do or don't get this pedal), but I do enjoy having my pedals in front of me and just endlessly tweaking the knobs as I'm re-amping my DI tracks to get the tone in my head. I'm sure you'll be happy either way.

    • @josephfelice601
      @josephfelice601 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am on the fence between Volante, Magneto, and the Rainmaker. Volante is by far the most accessible. I have a Dig and an El Capistan, so trying to justify this guy too. Need to try the re-amping of DI tracks, I always record wet to get the vibe / play the effect. @@Michael_Is_Avg

    Whats the signal chain? That's some chunk at 6:30 on!

    • @strymon
      @strymon  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      At 6:30 the signal path is Sunset (Hard) » Volante » BigSky (Cabinet Filter only). If you are interested in any of the other clips the description has them all at the bottom :) Thanks so much!

    If the volante is quickly toggled on then off, will you still hear the delay tails? My nova delay does this so i'm just wondering if it's possible?

    • @strymon
      @strymon  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, Volante has a trails mode that can be turned on, so your delays will naturally fade out when bypassed :)

    Silver Studio has no spring reverb added?

    • @strymon
      @strymon  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope! It's just the sound of all 4 heads being activated, amongst other things. Gives it a very spacey sound.
