- In this video I show you how to setup and use a Strymon Volante (v1.12) and Disaster Area DMC.Micro (Gen 3) together. I cover setting up the Volante and then the MIDI Controller, Saving Presets, and moving Presets.

Hi Kris thanks for the advice, I bought the dmc micro for my volante and work amazing… can you use the dmc just for the volante o more pedal at the same time?.
I actually have more videos on it if you search my channel. I made it work with a Wampler Terraform at the same time. Now I'm trying to figure out how the get the new Beta update to work with both pedals again. it's a little less functional at this point, but I'll figure it out!
I just picked up the midi baby 3 and am having a deuce of a time setting it up for banking up and down on my Volante. Would you be willing to share your settings from the DAD configuration site? Thanks!
Let me look into the DAD configuration site, I have since updated to newer beta version of the firmware for this, and I'm not positive this old video will work as well as it did the year I filmed it. I can still look into it, what firmware is on your Midi Baby 3?

do you save your bpm per preset?
great video! is there a way you can set the device to display the BPM number your current preset is set to on the screen?
Thanks for making this video, much appreciated, I was able to set up the Volante as you indicated. I am now trying to plug in an expression pedal to the .micro so I can use it to control the Volante. Any tips you could pass along for that process?
BTW I am only using the .micro for the Volante only.
@@YourFriendStChris Thank you. I think the Volante is great, but under explained. I will try your suggestion to use the expression jack, but I think you can only use the midi or the expression jack exclusively. Regardless, I'll try.
Will the sound spillover/trail when you change from the current preset to next when you scroll?
@@sixstringsofsam What I do know for sure, in buffered mode engaged, you can do a spill over setting for bypass on/off, but from what I hear when I change presets it immediately changes, so no, but I can confirm next time I pull my board out.
Thanks for this! Do you use a regular trs cable to connect the switcher and Volante or is it a special kind of cable?

Hey! Any luck getting the SOS looper to work with this controller, alongside using it for the function of presets?
@@YourFriendStChris just spoke via email with DA who say that looper functionality for the Volante will come with the next firmware update for the DPC and DMC Gen-3 models .. likely due in January 2021 👍

Does this go the same for the dmc 4 gen 3
Thank you so much for your clear explanations. I'm just starting in MIDI implementation and your video is really helpful to me. I'd love to get this DMC.micro Pro, as anything bigger won't fit on my pedal board. My hope is that I could create and switch presets on my STRYMON IRIDIUM. I searched quite a bit but could not find if the Iridium midi was compatible to the DMC.micro pro... Would you know ?
If I had to guess it is just as compatible as the Volante, but in similar fashion you'd just have to figure out how to hold the preset, and save to the individual PC preset inside the DMC micro.
I have an Iridium, I just have never used the DMC.micro to control it. You will have to use a TRS cable to talk in midi to it.

@@YourFriendStChris Thanks for the replies. I'll order the Micro Plus and try with a TRS cable as suggested and confirm if it works with the Iridium (as it quite certainly will)...
I think you will find a way to make it work! If you have problems with it, comment on here and I'll see what I can do on my end to help.. Mine just isn't the Pro, though I have wanted one.. I feel if I fiddled with one I could definitely set one up.
Are you able to use the disaster area
And set up BPM and a preferred setting for a Strymon El Capistan? Or does it only work for Timeline,Volante etc?
