Did you actually watch the debate in its entirety? I am not being surreptitious with this question. I am asking because I had only seen a few choice snippets and thought this was typical Biden having a bad moment. However, I went back in and watched the entire debate. He was having trouble stringing together sentences. He was conflating topics or getting lost in one and trailing off. I am a registered Democrat. I voted for Biden in 2020. I will vote for him again in 2024 as the alternative is unthinkable.... but we deserve a fully coherent, clear-minded president. We also need a candidate who can meet the moment, as that moment is critical. We can NOT have a candidate that people settle on as a lesser of two evils. This election is far too important, particularly now that the SCOTUS has essentially given the president unfettered immunity with their being the sole arbiter of what is considered "official business". We need a candidate that can win. I don't believe Biden is that candidate at this point.

AGREE! This younger generation of political campaign "pundits/experts" need to get their big boy/girl pants on, roll their sleeves up and GET TO WORK supporting our President and his campaign! STOP all the negative, casting doubt rhetoric! We need strong messaging that shares Truth & Facts about this administration's successes & plans for tax changes vs. Trump's so the wealthiest pay their share, which also helps our deficit, border enhancements, less inflation, Social Security enhancements, SCOTUS changes, etc. Simple, effective ads showing infrastructure/jobs (e.g. high speed rail), new Wisconsin employer, Green energy) efforts. ALL elected officials & those running for office MUST repeat in lockstep. This is how the Repubs convince citizens to believe/vote for their lies-- they are all in lockstep & consistently repeat the same lies so people believe it is all true.
Dems have NEVER done this & they have Truth & Facts to share. Informed Citizens want to support our Democracy & an honest, widely respected president who has shown his integrity & patriotism. Trump is despised by our allied world leaders & a pawn for Putin & others who will bribe him as before.
Additionally, we need to encourage Joe that he must use the power just given by the SCOTUS to save our nation & Us from the greatest threat we have to our democracy & freedoms & see that DJT is not allowed to evade justice & be prevented from becoming a dictator. Spend your energy supporting & protecting our freedoms & Democratic leader(s), rather than causing more fractions in the only group who can/wants to preserve our sovereignty & freedoms.

We cannot have an Executive Branch (President) with no checks and balances, whether it's Trump or anyone else. SCOTUS is now firmly on the right, and will be for decades. Congress shifts back and forth. If this ruling doesn't energize people to vote for Biden, or whoever ends up the Democratic nominee, then nothing will. This election has always been about undecided voters and the fight needs to be about the future of our country, not an individual candidate.

According to the Supreme Court, authorities are prohibited from inquiring into the actions of a president exercising his core responsibilities. Obviously, if selecting justices for the Supreme Court is a core function, deselecting sitting justices is an implied core function.

But even more importantly this decision makes it difficult for a president to go after past presidents and this is extremely important for democracy and the Court got this right.
