I agree but then I'm not a fan of pre-52 tele pups in general. They sound more like p90s, and lack edge and twang. Of course they have many fans, up to personal taste. I gigged with an original '56 tele for 30 years, but for me the early 60s tele pups paired with steel saddles offered the most iconic tone.
The neck in both 51 and 52 looks similar in specs, both enamel wound. But while the bridge is wound in formvar for the 51, it’s enamel for the 52. So the former should have a glassier and snappier sound. I just got my 51s and it is AWESOME, got me gushing. Just ordered my 52s, looking forward to a/b them
Both sets have A3 magnets. On the surface there doesn’t seem to be any difference for the neck, both wound in enamel wire. But the bridge is wound in formvar wire for these, compared to enamel for the CS pickups. Which gives it a glassier, tighter and focused sound. I bailed on the NoCasters but I love these PV51s very very much. Pretty different
Great pickups and a nice sounding Tele. I also really love the Fralin Vintage hots for this same tone also.
This is to me, the perfect Tele sound🔥
It just takes some practice 🤘
@@fender Of course but the bity tone is more my cup of tea😃
@@fenderAnd a compressor. I think a lot of people don't realize you need compression for that true Tele tone
@@KrullmaticThere is one, a Keeley compressor plus perfect partner for a funky Telecaster bridge pick-up!

So people were using a compressor pedal back in the early 50's to get that pure tele tone?
Gosh. I LOVE that quacky, growly sound. These are nice!
le meilleur de tous les micros pour le vrai son d'une télé
Thinking about put these on my Player Plus Tele. Don't like those noiseless pickups... good idea?
How do these differ from the 52 set?
Great sounding pickup n yet the overdriven sound sounds lack of ‘bite’ to me. I’m wondering if the tone knob ain’t turned all the way up.
Or perhaps the pup height could be adjusted? That usually does it for me :)

Certified Gold!!!!!
So these are different than the 52s? I have a 52 in the bridge and a 62 Custom in the neck. They sound great. 👌

Unmatched 👏
Funky bridge pick-up, make one for a Stratocaster please so we can get that sound too, can't lug 2 Guitars around "All " the time. TA'.
How is this different than the Custom Shop Nocaster pups?
Those are made in the Custom Shop factory. These are just made in the standard American facility
