Been looking for a straightforward and thorough video before I attempt this myself. Yours is the best so far.

The twisted wires help to cancel out any noise imposed on the pair of wires. Twistind pairs is a common feature in many communications and audio circuits.

The short wire on the bridge pickup is short because it is sized to go to ground only the Bridge. You have to add a ground wire from the bridge ground to the Pot ground.
    Have fun!

Thanks for the heads-up on this Alex. 2 years later and this comment is still proving useful to others.

I have purchased 3 sets of these amazing value, great sounding Tex-Mex pickups for Tele and they all have the short wire. I'm sure this is just the way they are designed, not from a previous install. Cheers

I've done this to my c.v. squier and wonder why they don't use shielded cable on the pickup leads? Comments? The bridge lead is short as to connect to the bridge for ground and then ground to control strip.
Pickups are great, by the way. I installed a fishman piezo bridge and pre-amp as well. Killer guitar.

Ryan - the three bridge pickup screws, should those be any to the body?

Good demo, though I was hoping to see you put in the wood screws to mount the neck pickup. It looks simple, but.... Also, what is that small, circular rout underneath the pickguard for? I’ve seen it on other Tele’s, but can’t find an explanation. Cheers.

Not sure what that is either. I think it has to do with the routing process...

Hello, I am new at changing my own guitar pickups and am trying to put in Twisted Tele pickups. The guitar is MIM, and I ran into a problem with the wiring. I cannot de-sauter any of the grounds. It is almost as if they are permanently welded in place instead of being sautered. I have changed my Strat pickups before and it went perfectly fine, I was able to desauter it easily, but this guitar seems different. I was wondering if you have run into this issue before? Do you have any advice or videos you can link me to? I can also give an email for easier communication if needed! Let me know if you require more info too! Thank you so much.

Since you already have a ground from the bridge back to the pots, Fender expected you to solder the pickup ground to the ground on the bridge. That's why it's a short wire. Fender wire diagram will show this.

Hi, installed the TexMex set yesterday in my Tele. Is it correct that the middle position is not hum cancelling in this set? Can’t find any information about that. Thanks in advance!

Excellent video. New subscriber. You're a good teacher, Ryan. Thanks. One question, did you add a ground wire for each pickup? I thought you didn't want one on the neck pickup.

Just ordered a set of Tex-Mex for my Squire CV 50'S Telecaster. Your video is great! Is there anything else I should know, as this is my first install. I have soldered before and wired up a few Harleys from scratch. Still anxious about installing the pickups because so many comments on different grounding here.
