I am DEEPLY saddened by the negativity that is being posted on this video. I know Ashley personally, and she is an amazing woman, business owner, as well as educator. I have learned so many great techniques and healthy hair care as a result of her teachings. This video was VERY beneficial to educate hair of all types. Have people really forgotten about “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all?” Ashley, keep putting out your amazing energy into the world and thank you for sharing your talents with us all. I’m so sorry that the TH-cam community is so hateful.
Thank you for demonstrating how this is done. Btw, for those who are pissed off saying she’s claiming she ‘invented’ this - I didn’t once hear her say that. She’s clearly just passing along a great long-ago invented hair tip for all women to utilize. Women need to stop hating on each other.
The first time a white friend of mine wrapped her hair she was so excited! She couldn't wait to tell me about her experience (seeing how this technique is hella old in the black community). I wrapped my hair for decades when I kept is straight. Now that I'm natural, I live that bonnet life.
Thank you for posting this! I know many people will get a lot from this video. I'm so sorry to see the negativity and assumptions made about Ashley. I've known her half of my life, and she is half black for those coming for her. She's been a professional stylist over 15 years and only cares about people having healthy hair. I hope everyone can look past the negativity and learn from this great tutorial! I know I have. Thank you!
Ashley is an amazing human being who happens to be biracial and deserves absolutely none of the hate comments. She’s taught me so much about my own textured hair and actually made me feel comfortable talking to others about their own. Please stop making such ignorant assumptions about people over an 8 minute TH-cam video.
YAS ASHLEY! So proud to work for someone like you to be exposed to diverse hair care! You’re beautiful and take good care of your naturally textured hair!!
This is my stylist and she’s actually of mixed race (AA & Cau). Most of her clients have textured hair with a high % of being 100% natural. Let’s not discredit her knowledge based on her appearance. She’s the truth!
Women of all colors have been wrapping their hair since before curlers were invented. My white grandma always wrapped her hair... like anyone remember the 50s?
I have been knowing ashley for a very long time, we went to beauty school together, I really don't think she was trying to say she invented or her way is better. She was just simply showing a way to wrap your hair at night before bed. She has always been a great stylist and trained very hard to be able to work on all types amd textures of hair. This may not work for all people, but I think she meant well and she probably helped a lot of people who vould use this method.
First of all SHE'S Black and Caucasian...Second she did not say that this was a new technique that she created...she is showing 2 ways to wrap your hair... And if you were listening you would have heard her say Classic wrap before doing the second one. Further more a lot of us black women was NOT, and some are still not familiar with the bun technique... She is not just speaking to one audience this is a stylist who has a huge Multicultural Clientele she is the 🐐 don't get it twisted.. Ashley please keep being the great Stylist/Educator that you are!! ignore the Negativity
LOL at these comments. This stylist is known all over the Midwest for how amazing she is at doing hair. She can handle all textures effortlessly. This largely has to do with the fact that shes mixed, both black and white. Do you think that’s her natural hair texture? Nope, it’s not. She’s just a pro. At no point did she claim to invent anything, or be the authority on anything. But she is talented and was trained by one of the best...her dad, who is black, and was a leader in the beauty industry for over 30 years developing the African American hair care market. Y’all are petty and need to do better. Don’t judge every book by its cover, you’ll miss some important chapters.
Thanks for the tutorial. I struggle to maintain length. I have sort of fine strands and when i sleep my hair looks likes a frizzy mess in the morning. My hair is a medium length and i cannot get a bun to the front of my head, what would you recommend for that?
Why would anyone put a negative comment about a video thats showing how to wrap the hair, hell some of yall need to wrap or do something to those bird nest that yall dont want to comb and stop all that co washing and sleeping on matted hair. But a video showing you how to put rice water and other foolishness is well accepted. We need to just stop with this negative stuff, I hope Ashley does not feel bad about any negative comments,
HELP! What would you recommend for hair suddenly falling out in large amounts? Is it due to wearing my hair up so often during this quarantine? I wash every 2-3 days & brush it at least twice a day. Also, my scalp has been so oily for years now. I’ve tried so many products, I’ve tried washing it once a week, I’ve tried washing daily, every other day, clarifying shampoos, natural shampoos, apple cider vinegar, masks etc... literally nothing has helped. I use high end shampoos without harsh ingredients and rarely use heat on my hair. I stopped getting highlights and went back to my natural color. I fear I’ll have to cut my long hair short... I hate spending so much time doing my hair when I know the next morning it will be a greasy mess on my scalp. Dry shampoos just make it look worse and I hate the feeling of them.
hey you are probably are using products that may not be working with your texture, then you may be using to many products and not finding the proper regiment, are you on any meds
Hello! This depends on many factors that we cannot diagnose. Our best recommendation is to make an appointment with an expert - they will have the best advice and treatment for you!
No one else is going to say it I will: Dear Karen...black folks have been doing this forever. Why are you trying to front like you discovered something?!
Before making the tutorial she should have acknowledged that fact and said it. Why is it so hard to say that it is an old technique used for generations within those of African descent?
This happens to be my super talented boss. Who owns a salon that caters to ALL hair textures. She does the most amazing sill press and has a wealth of knowledge in the hair industry. She also happens to be biracial, Black. I am so very proud of her. Her IG is @ash_ hairbarbie.
Just wondering what the black community feels this is only inclusive to them . I'm bi-racial. I wish my Caucasian mother would have known about this when I was young. She had no idea how to take care of my hair 😕
Ama D we don’t feel like we’re the only ones that can do this. We’re just tired of people claiming our inventions and practices as theirs without recognition. Imagine doing a project first and no one says anything but then someone steals it and now everyone is signing praise to that person and telling them how intelligent they are.
@@AmaVintage just out of curiosity (cuz maybe i missed it) but I didnt hear her say she came up with it. she just said she was going to teach whomever was watching. does there need to be a disclaimer," we owe this all to the african american community?" like I am SINCERELY asking what you want for recognition
Are used to wrap my hair like this when it was long in high school. Now I do the bun on the top of my head at night but I don’t wear a scarf. Wow I just did it because I don’t want my hair all over the place when I’m sleeping I didn’t know it was good for it. I use the same product she does to their excellent. I am a hairdresser but I wasn’t told about this till now I’m glad I was doing it instinctively on my own. Great video
Jo S this happens to be my boss, she’s an amazing diverse salon owner that caters to textured hair. If you didn’t notice she is actually BI RACIAL. Fyi
I know good and goddamn well this ⚪️ woman isn’t doing a hair wrapping tutorial. I’m trippin, I have to be. I’m sure *they* discovered this too, huh? 😒
Nothing wrong with her making a tutorial on hair wrapping. BUT she should have acknowledged that this is a technique commonly used by those of African descent and not some new discovery. I do not know her ethnicity but she is mixed for sure.

Top ten BEST VIDEO'S on TH-cam! AWESOME! THANK YOU
Thanks for the tutorial. I struggle to maintain length. I have sort of fine strands and when i sleep my hair looks likes a frizzy mess in the morning. My hair is a medium length and i cannot get a bun to the front of my head, what would you recommend for that?
This TH-cam algorithm is something else
Hahahaha!!!! Hilarious.
Y’all, was I the only one low-key mad when I read the title? 🤦🏾♀️ Not even the wrap is safe 🙄
Parena Yungwon it’s safe. She’s biracial and complete in her realm and walk to post how to wrap hair.
This was really helpful. Thank you

This is a really good video. I have so many bi-racial clients like you with length that would appreciate these details. Thank you I’ll be sharing!

Thank you ❣️
I've been doing this my entire life, I'm 60 now. Btw I'm white but have very curly hair and this keeps my blow out longer.
yes a wrap has no color
No one else is going to say it I will: Dear Karen...black folks have been doing this forever. Why are you trying to front like you discovered something?!
Before making the tutorial she should have acknowledged that fact and said it. Why is it so hard to say that it is an old technique used for generations within those of African descent?
Jo S 🤣😂🤣😂😁
She does white people's hair most likely and this is probably more for those type of folks. I take no offense. Some people really don't know

Miss Katz Life she’s biracial and a brilliant salon owner it’s not that hard to understand
Just wondering what the black community feels this is only inclusive to them . I'm bi-racial. I wish my Caucasian mother would have known about this when I was young. She had no idea how to take care of my hair 😕

She didn't say she came up with it, and she is also half black so.

Love those instincts! 👏
I think this video made me nauseous
She started her "classic wrap" and I about fell outta my chair. What in the cultural appropriation are you doing Becky?
She’s black. Half black. And her black dad is also a hair stylist 30+ years in the industry
Jo S her name is Ashley and she’s biracial. Just a note.
Jo S this happens to be my boss, she’s an amazing diverse salon owner that caters to textured hair. If you didn’t notice she is actually BI RACIAL. Fyi

Lanky Blackbird the best hair wrap I EVER got was at a Spanish hair salon . She has a lot of makeup and dye so ...who knows what ethnicity she is .
This lady is clearly not white though. She is mixed.
She happens to work extensively with ALL hair types and owns a boss salon. She also happens to be big racial. Black
I was just curious to see what would be in the comments. I don’t fool with mizani anymore so....
Curly hair ppl wrap their hair I know I do lol I didn't know that it was a race own technique lol this is for everyone yall 🤣🤣
Lol I can't right now
Lol
I can’t
This is not a new concept, black people have been wrapping our hair for years.
Nothing wrong with her making a tutorial on hair wrapping. BUT she should have acknowledged that this is a technique commonly used by those of African descent and not some new discovery. I do not know her ethnicity but she is mixed for sure.
Her father is black and mother is Caucasian.
She’s of African American descent. She’s mixed and hair wrapping is practiced literally all over the world and has been for hundreds of years
GIRL, YOU MUST BE HIGH!!! BLACK GIRLS BEEN DOING THIS SINCE BEING IN THE MOTHERLAND 😆
