I would think Jet Blue is going to have to get into some kind of lounge game, possibly contract it out. After flying to London, especially if your working, an arrivals lounge or some sort of access to shower facilities is key.
im not sure if that is necessary, anyone who would fly mint almost certainly has lounge access from premium credit cards. i'd rather spend time in the excellent centurion lounge and have jet blue lower cost on my seat in the sky.
@@michaelrmurphy2734 JetBlue is not part of an alliance. However, they do have agreements with Emirates, Qatar Airways, and American Airlines among others.
JetBlue's definitely come a long way, I remember back when everyone was excited over the free bag of blue chips...and now we have business class, signature cocktails and London flights, amazing!
The camera is for the front crew to monitor the whole cabin when they sit in their jumpseat while taxiing, taking off and landing in case someone gets up during takeoff or an emergency happens during those flight phases. That’s because of the design preventing jetblue to have a small window installed in the front.
The camera is there to allow for the flight attendant/s to have full view of the cabin during landing and take off to ensure cabin is secured and customers are seated during critical phases of flight etc. The view to the cabin is obstructed on this particularly layout because of the Mint Studio, unlike other layout in the fleet.
Great report! I’m a lot older than you, so I can brag that I actually used the old TWA terminal (which was considered ultra modern at the time) on many occasions. I flew on the original 747-131s to places like Los Angeles, Paris, Tel Aviv. Now I’m just an old fart sitting in the porch!
I worked for Jetblue almost 15 years. The camera is one of 4 cameras on board every aircraft, it allows the Pilots to keep an eye on what's going on in the cabin (Live feed to a small screen in the flight deck) in the event there is an issue that arises. This was implemented shortly after 9/11 and continues today.
Nice work Jeb as ever...do wish you added “Price/Value for Money” to your rating system. It’s a reality for all of us when considering which carrier/flight/route. 👍✈️😊
That's not easy, because ticket prices even for the same flights vary hugely due to other circumstances like time of purchase or connections or other variables. But you can always take the Jeb score and divide it by the prices you get, this would yield the results to judge your current options. :-)
I flew the same configured aircraft from Fort Lauderdale to Newark a couple of weeks ago. It was the most comfortable flight I have ever been on. I’m 6 foot 4, 270 pounds and had plenty of room in my Standard economy, aisle seat. JetBlue is my go to.
Been an AA executive platinum for years but the new alliance convinced me to try JetBlue (and Alaska) for the first time and I was really impressed. Anytime I can’t find an AA wide body transcontinental plane I’m taking JetBlue Mint
Wow, Jeb, this was amazing, I have to hand it to JetBlue for changing the game once again. I also think that even though they aren’t marketing it this way, the Studio is first class and the Suite is business class. Also, one point of interest is that they are partnering with American so I wouldn’t be surprised if part of the deal results in the use of AA, or other One World, lounges in the future!😸

Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, United, American, Delta, and JetBlue are the airlines that fly from JFK/EWR to LHR/LGW. I think that United, Delta, and JetBlue would be top 3 as they each have some of the best seats and bedding. I know that BA and VA are adding new seats on their A350-1000s but I don’t think that they fly their A350-1000s between NYC and London.
@@scotttild JetBlue will have to charge higher fares for a variety of reasons. Mostly because international travel fees and Heathrow airports high expenses. It isn’t economical to use a Heathrow slot on an A321 as it doesn’t bring in enough passengers when United primarily flys 777s and 767s into Heathrow, Delta flys A330s, and American flys 777s and 787s. The A321 is about half the size of some of those planes which will drive costs up a lot.
Thank you Jeb for all of your videos during this crazy time. I just flew to New Orleans two weeks ago via Baltimore. So happy to see full planes and full airports. See you in the skies👍
JetBlue is one of my favorite airlines for traveling in economy. I haven't flown Mint yet, but hopefully in the future I will. The seats in economy are some of the comfiest in my opinion especially since I have a bad back and a misaligned hip. The leg room is optimal. The snacks and drinks are some of the best as they have quite a bit of variety that other airlines don't have. Their terminal at Long Beach is so unique, I love how open the whole airport there is. I love seeing the plane names and the tail colors. I flew on "Big Blue People Seater" and "Blue Bayou". The crews are amazing and so nice. I wish they flew to more destinations out of my home airport Seattle though, but despite that JetBlue is amazing and one of the best airlines in the US for domestic flights, hoping to try them out on a international flight as well.
This looks like a very comfy product! I think the lack of lounge access may have to be addressed for transatlantic flights since passengers require further time at the airport. Plus it'll add to the overall experience.

This is a phenomenal seat. I was fortunate to fly Mint a couple years ago as part of an itinerary on Etihad, and was thrilled with it, definitely the best domestic first class barely edging out United's premium transcon (formerly known as P.S.) that they fly between New York and SFO/LAX on, I think, 767s? Anyway great review!
Mint A320 neo waited at the gate. Ground workers filled up the aircraft with mint kerosene. On boarding, it smelled like mint. Sitting down I found mint candy. I decided to drink some mint water brought by the lovely flight attendant with a mint perfume smell. For dinner I was served chicken a la mint with fresh cherry tomatoes with mint leaves. After eating I went to the bathroom and washed my mouth with mint mouthwash. Upon sitting back in my seat, checked the in flight screen and it indicated we were flying IAS of 400 mints per hour. I happened across this video after previously seeing photos on facebook. I don’t like the sideways arrangement nor do I like single aisle planes, especially for transcon flights. But for what its worth, it seems to be a nice product and a step up for the carrier. Ive noticed they have a partnership with AA now and their flights fill in the gaps from various airports for transcon. This was a nice video and seemed to cover all the bases.

That's very precise
I was affected by the Jet Blue 2007 crisis more like Jet BOO! They have recovered well and I look forward to my next flight with them
Well JetBlue has been a low cost carrier for a long time but after adding Mint and partnering up with Alaska Airlines And American airlines JetBlue is a hole new airline now. Love the video Man. Jeb if you make an airline it should be JebBlue Airlines or JBA
When I go to London this is the way I want to travel. ❤️💕❤️
Another great video Jeb. Can’t wait for your video on the TWA hotel.
It’s truly not a bad price actually for an upgrade like that
Great video once again Jeb, thanks for the awesome content!
Oh wow! Won’t spoil it, but Jeb meets a very special person in LA!
