Matthew Lillard was awesome in this (albeit his descent into playing that 'type' of character... I think the only role he had where he wasn't 'goofy comic relief' was when he was in Wing Commander, with Freddie Prinze Jr and Saffron Burrows...)

@@sukioki6983 so far, she said it in Poltergeist, Halloween and Scream so it is definitely a thing. Asia, I also don't have curtains in my house lol. #onThechoppingblockOhNo
I think it's because people are like..I spent all this money on this house, I want to enjoy all the views, undisturbed. But I have curtains on ALL my windows and French doors.
In Scream, it kind of made sense because the houses were often set in the woods or on acreage, so a lot of times, people don't put up curtains because the property provides privacy. Nobody is around to look in the windows. That said, if I ever live in the woods, ALL of my windows will be covered because that's just creepy at night. LOL
Love this movie! The tagline on the poster reads: "Someone has taken their love for scary movies a little too far." The opening scene was on Bravo's 100 Scary Movie Moments. When people saw the opening, they thought Drew Barrymore was going to be the hero, they were in for a shocking surprise.
They were going for a shock (Drew was originally cast as the lead, but switched to the smaller part because she thought it'd be a clever bait and-switch), but it didn't really work out. The “star actress dies off early” trope was already very well-established in horror movies (it goes back at least to Psycho), and all of the reviews back then talked about Neve Campbell as the actual heroine of the movie. If you read the Entertainment Weekly review from the time, it says that explicitly. If you read Ebert's review, he basically said it in so many words. So most people already knew about the twist going into theaters.
@@sumnerhayes3411 Not everyone reads the reviews ahead of time, and the trailers made a point to show Drew Barrymore as if she was the main character. Plenty of people didn't know going in.
@@flibbidyx2 Facts. Neve wasn't as well known at the time and Drew was the biggest film star of the younger members in the cast. Even on the promotional poster Drew's shown more prominently than any other character on purpose to throw the audience off. In the era before social media the twist worked quite effectively and it arguably remains the best opening scene of the last 30 or so years in all of horror cinema...
@@sumnerhayes3411 While all that's true, it's not like people really sought that out back then. I was in junior high when this came out and fully expected Drew Barrymore to the be star.
@@sumnerhayes3411 Scream was a hit because of word of mouth. Drew Barrymore was the face of Scream, she was GenX's sweetheart and we were all shocked she died in the first 12 minutes. Back then, horror movies became a joke. Scream was the movie that brought back horror movies lovers, and especially teens. Who wanted a good movie and a good scare, not straight to video B-horror. That's the reason it was such a massive hit. After Scream, Hollywood decided to make copycats with a twist and still made the heroine likeable. Even if she wasn't a virgin. It's why the franchise is still beloved and the new recent horror movies forgettable. Stick to the rules, like this and Halloween, and fans will still line up.
Thank you both for reacting to this. Scream is one of my favs & still holds up after over 25 years later. It definitely reinvented the horror genre in the mid 90s with it's focus on being meta, along with it's perfect balance of suspense, horror, mystery, & comedic elements. You both weren't the only ones that were caught off guard by the 1st 15 minutes of the movie as it still gets me to this day, lol. This is definitely one of the best gems from the late great Wes Craven & if you continue on with seeing the rest, you both won't be disappointed.
The first 13 minutes alone is an amazing horror movie. Don't get me wrong, the rest of the movie is great, but the first 13 minutes? One of the best openings to a horror movie ever. Up there with Halloween.
I love that whole scene when Randy (Jamie Kennedy) was watching "Halloween" by himself and telling Jamie Lee Curtis to turn around that he's behind you lol. Wes was creative with playing with their really names. Him telling himself that he Jamie needed to turn around because ghostface was behind him. The way Wes Craven creates those little things is amazing and brilliant! - I don't know if you caught it or not but the whole last 20-30mins everything that was happening around the house it was perfectly mirroring with what was happening in Halloween lol
@@markgoguen8698 u wrote this I think before scream 6 came out what did u think of it? And I agree part 3 was the only weak one in my opinion to even with the new one scream 6
You two are so entertaining! I love how Asia had her blanket pulled up within the first 5 minutes and your laugh kills me. The scene where Tatum was stuck in the cat door....she had to be strapped in because she was small enough to fit through so she slipped out. It's great watching you watch shows that you've never seen before. A lot of fun with you guys!
They can't make up their minds how much of her is through the door, either. They cut back and forth inside to outside, and even though she's supposed to be stuck, her most prominent features keep moving back and forth through the door, showing that she should have slipped right out.
Fun fact Tatum actually could fit through the doggy door on the garage, when they were filming she kept slipping through so they had to staple her skirt to the garage door so she wouldn’t slip out.
It made sense that the killers were teenagers, with how incompetent they were. I’ve never seen a killer get knocked down, beaten up and outsmarted more than Ghostface.
Random fact: the guy who wrote scream 1,2, & 4 is Kevin Williamson, he’s the guy who the tv show Dawson’s creek is based off of.. so throughout the scream movies, there is always a Dawson’s creek reference. 😂 he also wrote the first 2 or 3 seasons of the vampire diaries
Drew Barrymore killed it in only 10 mins of film time,a hell of a reaction to a hell of a film, I laughed my tail off watching Asia jump and scream and peak out from her fingers and blanket, can't wait to see more from you guys
I remember seeing this in the theater with a big group of friends and having such a great time. I thought it was going to just be a straight up slasher film. It was meta before anyone even knew what the meant. Always a favorite of mine!
Last Action Hero was and is a brilliant satire and parody of action movies in general and all of Arnie's body of work to that point. Audiences weren't ready for him poking fun at himself, though. The only scene I'm not a fan of is the rooftop funeral, which goes on too long. Everything else is solid.

Saw this in the theatre when I was in high school. The intro scene was terrifying. I tip my hat to you Drew. Cell phones were still a new thing, and the service sucked, especially in the country. Someone being there during a phone call was such new level of maneuverability. RIP Wes
The reason they made the noise is because the killer was in the closet when she opened it. If you rewatched that scene before she falls asleep and get the call you can hear noises from the closet. She notices it but choose to ignore it. The killer got to her house first after school and hid in the closet all that time.
Thanks for the wonderful reaction guys! I've got a great memory seeing it on the big screen with my brother and a mutual friend. Hard to believe that was December of '96! The movie is of course filled with references, but here are 2 I really enjoy. The reporter who asked Sydney how does it feel to be almost brutally butchered is played by Linda Blair. Regan from the Exorcist. When Randy is saying Jamie, look behind u, he's referring to Jamie Lee Curtis, but the actor's first name is also Jamie.
Randy was so on point, especially with calling Stu a “Lapdog” lol Great reaction you guys as usual! Still voting for “The Conjuring” but again, make sure you have a few blankets for that one lol 🫣😉
The doors to my backyard have no curtains, I do have a flood light on back there. To this day when I go downstairs at night, I look out there and half expect to see someone tied to a chair.
The opening is easily the best part and most famous part of this movie. The best opening to a horror movie and no other horror movie has come close to it. Also it has the best final girl with Sidney Prescott I absolutely love her.
This is my #1 favorite movie of all time. I’ve seen it no fewer than 100 times, with no exaggeration. Asia’s reaction to this movie is why I love it so much. Love you guys. Love your reactions. Thank you. Please do the rest of the series. The sequels. For better or worse, are some of the best in the entire genre. You won’t be disappointed with any of them.
There is a theory that there is a third killer in the movie, since in the scene where Sidney and Tatum are in the store, there is a Ghostface stalking them, but Billy and Stu were both in the video store with Randy, so it must have existed a third person under the mask.
The Scream characters are most obsessed with Halloween. Halloween and Psycho each have a character named Sam Loomis. In Scream, Billy's last name is Loomis. Once I heard his last name watching it in the theater, I KNEW he was the killer. I will never get over how big Asia's eyes get when she's frightened out of her mind. It literally makes me laugh out loud. It should be turned into a SNL skit!!!! Love your reactions, as always.
@@jaimecontreras6752 That's what I was trying to point out. Carpenter named Michael's psychiatrist as an homage to Psycho. Scream also paid homage with Billy's name.
here's another In Halloween Laurie tells the 2 kids to go to the McKenzie's house down the street in scream after Drew Barrymore getting killed father tells mom to call the McKenzie's down the street
@@TequilaToothpick It was too much of a coincidence to a horror movie buff like me, for bells not to go off in my head. On top of the fact that Billy comes off as so skeevy from the moment he literally jumps on to the screen in his first appearance. It was an easy call.
Despite what Billy says to the sheriff, it was NOT common for people to have a cell phone back in 1996. Thus, it was such a "dun-dun-dunnnn!" moment when one drops out of his pocket.
This is exactly why the phenomenon of watching other people watch movies transformed TH-cam - bc it's exhilarating to watch a movie thru the eyes of someone, like U2, watching it for the first time! Love it!!!
Watching this reaction got me to notice an easter egg I never spotted all these years: in the video store scene, there's a promotional poster for the film 'Mother's Boys' starring Jamie Lee Curtis, who also starred in 'Halloween,' obviously an influence on this film. The plot of that film is about a woman who "abandons" her husband and three sons then attempts to get him back from his new girlfriend and convinces her eldest son that the girlfriend is the thing standing in the way of their family reuniting. It wouldn't necessarily be a clue to Billy being the killer until after watching the full film but once you know the story it's a clever little in-joke to the audience if you will. If I'm not mistaken, doesn't Sidney even call Billy a mama's boy near the end of the film?
Former garage door tech reporting in. You'll be relieved to know your residential operator will not be able to lift you off the ground with you stuck in the door, and even if it could, the force sensor would bounce it back off as soon as it you reached the top and stopped it from moving.
They gave it away as Billy by the phone calls really. The way he speaks is quite unique in timing, so even disguised his vocal pattern gives him up as the killer, at least for me it did when I first watched it. And Asia if you don't want everyone to vote for Scream 2 you'll need to not give such hilarious reactions to every scary parts. In other words, my guess is you'll be watching it. :D
Part of why this movie is so iconic is several scenes hint at who the killer is When Billy is at Sidney’s house he turns up the radio to prevent her from hearing Stu knock out and kidnap mr Prescott The look he gives Stu after Tatum’s death Him accidentally dropping the phone after Ghostface attacks her at her house
I'm a few minutes in and already a fan! No one ever comments on the creaking sound coming from the closet when Sydney is home alone. The killer is in there waiting... Your reactions are priceless and brought me back to 1996 when I saw it in theaters...thank you.
It was Drew Barrymore that chose her role. She was cast as Sydney, but wanted to die 1st. Then everyone knew that no character was safe. I remember her earning topbilling, and in the theater I was floored when she died immediately.
I guess you guys didn’t recognize the “Freddie Kruger” reference since “Wes Craven” created Freddie….Wes Craven was the janitor in the hall the principal was looking at…he was wearing the friddie stripe sweater and hat as a call back to freddy from nightmare on elm street which he directed
Damn, Asia got it right when she said Billy must be friends with the killer, in the scene when after Billy got out of jail and was talking to Syd about her mother.
Within minutes of the movie, the lines of "The popcorn's burning!" while she's running for her life and "I wouldn't be backing up with my back(?)..." just had me laughing so damn hard. I just had to type this for some reason, LoL.
A little backstory of how Scream got created. Kevin Williamson (writer of I know what you did last summer, Dawson's Creek and The vampire diaries) wrote the story, originally titled Scary Movie, and based the plot loosely on the 1990 case of the Gainesville Ripper. It was a string of murders in a small town... Then it was changed to "Scream" cause the Ghostface costume was a close resemble to the Scream painting. The Ghostface costume was originally going to be all white but Wes Craven said it was to much like the KKK so he did the black robe with white face. Kevin wanted to create a story that has horror but also with some comedy of making it a self aware with the horror universe. But also use a relatable story that truly happened as a base line. So many Directors wanted to be apart of it there was even a big bidding war. He chose Wes Craven cause he was the only one who truly understood the story and his vision. Kevin wrote majority of the franchise and Wes Craven directed all of the Scream movies except for the new one "Scream 2022". He died after making the 4th Scream. Roger L. Jackson is the voice of Ghostface in all 5 Screams. The title of "Scary Movie" ended up being used for the parody movies. The 1st Scary Movie was about Scream, Scream 2, I know what you did last summer, the Blair witch project, Urban Legend, the sixth sense, The usual suspects, the Matrix, a very brief Dawson's Creek. .
Courtney Cox later married David Arquette (Dewey), although they have since divorced. She is a fellow Alabaman who is from Mountain Brook (a suburb of Birmingham). So very pretty back in the day.
I love this movie so much for being so self-referential and genre-aware. The dude who revolutionized the horror genre with Nightmare on Elm Street came back again when the genre had sort of petered out and revolutionized it AGAIN by making fun of his own genre. It's awesome.
There's 5 movies, a 6th is on the way. And yeah, this movie basically saved the slasher movie genre in the 90s. Even people who don't care for the scream movies generally like this one.
You guys are the best reactors on TH-cam, especially with the movies. Watching Asia is as much fun as the movie itself! And BJ well he's always cool! 🤣
I have to say I watch a lot of reaction videos and I have started to see fake reactions to get views but you guys are the best you can see how genuine you are, thanks for being real :)
Matthew Lillard wasn't even set to audition at first; he just went to support his girlfriend at her audition. But the producers liked his face and asked him to read, and he got the role of Stu. Also, funnily enough, he and Skeet Ulrich were born four days apart: Skeet Ulrich was January 20, 1970, and Matthew Lillard was January 24, 1970.
You should absolutely react to Scream 2 and Scream 3 - both are great sequels! And please react to "The Exorcist" from 1973 and "Psycho" from 1960 directed by the great Alfred Hitchcock and starring Janet Leigh - the mother of Jamie Lee Curtis.
Kenny (The Camera Man) never gets credits. He always puts up with Gail’s shit and they were probably actual good co workers, and he was prepared to run into the house to save Randy knowing the killer was inside and he used his last moment to point out the crawl space in the van
My heart broke watching that opening scene when “Casey Becker” Drew said MOM and then her mom sees her hanging from her Tree swing . After that I KNEW I was in for a ride . This film did NOT disappoint. Top 3 film for me .
The great thing about Scream was it was so self aware, in that it even though it is a serious subject it constantly refers to old Horror films and makes reference to the plot of them etc. It also spawned superb sequels, each on of them is great too and well worth a watch. You gotta do the sequels, the writing is just so clever.
This movie was the best thing since the OG horror movies of the 80's. Jump scares and attractive people everywhere, they show you the killer, then make you think it's everyone else. Loved this when it came out.
The reason I love the 4 Screams Wes made is because he said from the start they’re “comedy” horrors, he’s taking the piss out of horror films so that’s why sometimes it feels funny and why there’s so many horror movies mentioned. Such a genius move!
So many interesting facts about this movie. The names of some of the characters are directly referencing characters of classic Horror films before it. Loomis = Doctor Loomis I also noticed one of the actors names in the original Halloween had the last name Loomis, so they likely named the doctor after that actor. A similar tradition seems to be carried on in Scream. “Drive down to the Mackenzie’s” another subtle Halloween reference. There are Wes Craven references, John Carpenter, and a little from Friday The 13th. The Janitor Fred/Freddy scene is actually Wes Craven. The scene with Billy climbing in Sidney’s window and the fact that they deliberately cast him to look like a young Johnny Depp in Nightmare on Elm Street. The Sheriff is played by the same actor from the original Nightmare on Elm Street. The “People deserve to know, how does it feel?” reporter is Linda Blair the young actress that was Reagan in The Exorcist. Though some of it may seem a bit dated, it’s all brilliantly done. When Sidney jumps out and stabs Billy with the Umbrella, she made direct contact with a wound he had from surgery, so his scream is genuine pain. Drew Barrymore was famous as a model and an actress. (Even a Playboy Model) Already a veteran of starring roles, she was initially offered the part of Sidney Prescott, but it was her idea to instead be killed in the first scene opening which she knew no one would expect, thereby catching them completely off guard. (The death of America’s sweetheart) They do a great job making everyone look guilty. Focusing on close-up shots of shoes, and displaying suggestive behaviors. Like Randy says, Everybody’s a suspect. When Billy throws the phone and hits Stu, his response: “Ow! You hit me with the phone, dick!” was improv but was kept in because of its obvious comedic relief. Things you don’t notice about the film until the second time around you watch it: When Sidney says “If Tatum sees you, she’ll draw blood; If you look at Billy, you can can see him react accordingly through his expressions, considering he is the one that killed her. Obviously, Stu was still inside hosting the party. Speaking of Tatum, Rose McGowan had to be fixed to the doggy door of the garage, because she COULD fit easily through it on the practice runs. Also, it is believed that Stu had feelings for Billy, hence the reason he killed innocent people in the name of helping Billy to exact his revenge. The movie is called “SCREAM” because the mask design was inspired by the painting “The Scream,” and thus it becomes a double meaning.
Scream legit might be the coolest movie of all time, its crazy how well it holds up almost 30 years later, and its like the best movie to watch with your girlfriend
I just realized two things even though I've watched this movie many times 1: Both Casey and Tatum were blondes so I guess Stu had a type 2: The popcorn at the beginning of the movie was burning for at least fifteen minutes yet the smoke alarm doesn't go off until her parents enter the house
I will admit there was a point where I wondered who was in more danger, Sydney or BJ's shoulder lol. Wes Craven made you scream with this, Wayan's brothers parody Scary Movie will make you laugh (but save that for November lol).
Scream (1996) has aged brilliantly and it will continue to do so. It's a ground breaker in horror especially for mid 90s American time. Ghostface is a simple outfit with a mask, but it's very scary with a knife. The pace of the film is great and the audience had no clue who the killer's were right until the end. Wes Craven made a masterpiece in horror films.
The scream movies are my all time favorite. They make fun of any and all horror movies while still holding suspense and throwing in a ton of misdirections and twist to keep the killer concealed. I grew up with horror movies and this movie nails every stereotype beautifully, ridiculous but awesome.
Fun fact Courteney Cox (the reporter lady) and David arquette (Dewey )were actually married for a bit and then divorced after 11 years of marriage. While Arquette wanted their marriage to "work out," both he and Cox filed for divorce in 2012. Despite going their separate ways, the exes have remained friends they were married from 1999 to 2012 and they have a daughter together her name is Coco arquette they still say there really good friends but just not a couple also Matthew Lillard went off script for the scene when he got stabbed and said my parents are going to be so mad at me

I believe at the end when one of the killers gets hit in the back of the head with the phone thrown by the other that was an accident (wasn't meant to hit him like that) but the actor cleverly ran with it and helped with his comedic role.

Maybe any movie just masterclass with detail.
Love this movie!
The tagline on the poster reads:
"Someone has taken their love for scary movies a little too far."
The opening scene was on Bravo's 100 Scary Movie Moments.
And the original 'When a Stranger Calls.' In fact, Scream's opening scene was literally an homage/tribute to the first twenty minutes of that film...
@@dawb86 Also the original Black Christmas after that.
Something in particular about Drew's acting that really sells it.
It didn't start the trend of slashers having the pre-title screen kill, but it set a new floor for it.
I’m sorry but I can’t help but laugh at how scared Asia gets 🤣 I love your horror reactions
Lol as she peeks through her pinky fingers.. haha I'm dying 🤣
Wow lol. Nice try
I hope y’all watch the whole franchise!!! 🤞💕
Same. There’s only one bad one, in my opinion (the third one). The rest are good-fantastic.
@@markgoguen8698 Agreed!👍
@@markgoguen8698 u wrote this I think before scream 6 came out what did u think of it? And I agree part 3 was the only weak one in my opinion to even with the new one scream 6
@@markgoguen8698really?!? #3 is one of my fav’s to be honest. Wasn’t a big fan of number 4..
The sigh y'all let out when the credits rolled lol ...perfect
Everytime I see the cat run all I can hear is Shorty from Scary Movie. "RUN B*TCH, RUN." 😂😂😂 Also Asia needs to be a detective cause she was on point.
This flick regenerated the jump scare, gory horror/thriller films. Exceptional screenwriting.
It made sense that the killers were teenagers, with how incompetent they were. I’ve never seen a killer get knocked down, beaten up and outsmarted more than Ghostface.
Every time Asia uses her hands to hide but still peak through to see it reminds me of the Pan's Labyrinth monster. lmao
Asia: "Oh my god. Girl... the popcorn is burning!"
🤣🤣🤣
Random fact: the guy who wrote scream 1,2, & 4 is Kevin Williamson, he’s the guy who the tv show Dawson’s creek is based off of.. so throughout the scream movies, there is always a Dawson’s creek reference. 😂 he also wrote the first 2 or 3 seasons of the vampire diaries
He also wrote 'The Faculty,' an underrated teen sci-fi horror flick that was quite entertaining...
@@dawb86 I love the faculty, they added it to hbo max streaming so I got to see it for the first time since I was young and it’s still good
Kevin also wrote "I Know What You Did Last Summer", which was another big hit for him.
@@scottcarr8738 Not true, that's a cool movie! How old were you?
@@realMoMoPuFF If my memory's right it was like 91, 92 or so? I was 10-12 during that time.
@@scottcarr8738 I loved Last Action Hero then and I still love it now :P
Last Action Hero was and is a brilliant satire and parody of action movies in general and all of Arnie's body of work to that point. Audiences weren't ready for him poking fun at himself, though.
The only scene I'm not a fan of is the rooftop funeral, which goes on too long. Everything else is solid.
@@stevensauer8539 I still don't understand how 'Last Action Hero' got so many bad reviews then years later 'Free Guy' with Ryan Reynolds gets critical praise...

@@kevaunmitchell1316 I watched a Linda Blair movie last night from the late 70's and couldn't believe Wes Craven directed it. I had no idea he was directing in the 70's. It was called Summer of Fear. Thank you for responding...
Asia watching scary movies is quite the show in itself 🤣🤣🤣
You got to follow through. Next one is wild. This film rejuvenated the slasher genre back in the 90s.
Saw this in the theatre when I was in high school. The intro scene was terrifying. I tip my hat to you Drew. Cell phones were still a new thing, and the service sucked, especially in the country. Someone being there during a phone call was such new level of maneuverability. RIP Wes
This is a fave go-to movie. I can't even tell you how many times I've watched this franchise!!
The reason they made the noise is because the killer was in the closet when she opened it. If you rewatched that scene before she falls asleep and get the call you can hear noises from the closet. She notices it but choose to ignore it. The killer got to her house first after school and hid in the closet all that time.
The Scream franchise is rare: all of the sequels are worth watching. None of them beat the first one, of course, but they're all worth a look.
No they should've stopped at 3 although 4 isn't terrible.
Randy was so on point, especially with calling Stu a “Lapdog” lol
Great reaction you guys as usual!
Also people criticize the fact that she didn't run when she saw her parents coming home. That's literally why didn't. Clever writing.
Once I heard his last name watching it in the theater,
I KNEW he was the killer.
You wouldn't really know he was the killer just from the name Loomis though. None of the other killers were called Loomis.
@@rubioalex67 Never noticed that.
Nicely done.
This was kind of my intro to horror films. I was about 8 when I saw it. Been a fan of the whole series ever since.
fun fact: Tatum and Dewey's mom in SCREAM is Billy's mom from GREMLINS.
I can't wait to watch this reaction. I've seen this movie at least a dozen times. 🤣
lol you're sounding like the killer right now... 😂
Same. Four dozen here😭
@@dawb86 🤣🤣
“Then why don’t you come & find me, you pansy ass mama’s boy” 😂😂
Plus Billy showing up right after both Neve and Rose were attacked/killed at least always showed he was involved.
Part of why this movie is so iconic is several scenes hint at who the killer is
When Billy is at Sidney’s house he turns up the radio to prevent her from hearing Stu knock out and kidnap mr Prescott
The look he gives Stu after Tatum’s death
Him accidentally dropping the phone after Ghostface attacks her at her house
There are 4 more movies plus a TV series. ;) Asia's face throughout this entire video was A RIOT!!! I was cracking UP! 😂
5 movies
The 1st Scary Movie was about Scream, Scream 2, I know what you did last summer, the Blair witch project, Urban Legend, the sixth sense, The usual suspects, the Matrix, a very brief Dawson's Creek. .
My favourite from this was Asia saying "the popcorns burning" she was terrified lmao
"Why she ain't got no curtains?" Haha😅
Asia’s face during just the opening of the movie. 🤣
this movie relatable bc it's not some over powered hyper fictionalized killer with super strength, it's written like it can happen to anybody lol
This is one of the best reactions I’ve ever seen!😂 The movie’s great too!
The reporter yelling about almost being brutally butchered is actually Linda Blair. She plays the girl Reagan in the exorcist who is possessed
“Oh my GAWD, girl...the popcorn is burnin”
Asia (6:15) " I would not be backing up with my back!" I had to stop it RIGHT THERE! Lol
Loomis = Doctor Loomis
I also noticed one of the actors names in the original Halloween had the last name Loomis, so they likely named the doctor after that actor.
A similar tradition seems to be carried on in Scream.
“Drive down to the Mackenzie’s”
another subtle Halloween reference.
(The death of America’s sweetheart)
They do a great job making everyone look guilty.
Things you don’t notice about the film until the second time around you watch it:
When Sidney says “If Tatum sees you, she’ll draw blood; If you look at Billy, you can can see him react accordingly through his expressions, considering he is the one that killed her.
I NEED y’all to react to the rest of the franchise. Also there are few things as entertaining as watching Asia react to scary movies 💀
I just realized two things even though I've watched this movie many times
1: Both Casey and Tatum were blondes so I guess Stu had a type
2: The popcorn at the beginning of the movie was burning for at least fifteen minutes yet the smoke alarm doesn't go off until her parents enter the house
They rlly accused the camera man kenny 💀 I’m dead
So is Kenny
The scream movies are my all time favorite. They make fun of any and all horror movies while still holding suspense and throwing in a ton of misdirections and twist to keep the killer concealed. I grew up with horror movies and this movie nails every stereotype beautifully, ridiculous but awesome.
Asia getting her cardio in while sitting still.
Asia calling it when she said Billy must be friends with the killer when Billy was insensitive about Sydney not moving on over her Mother's death.
We've had this movie since it came out. I transferred it from VHS to DVD. We watch it every year when we start our Halloween movie marathon.
Fun fact Courteney Cox (the reporter lady) and David arquette (Dewey )were actually married for a bit and then divorced after 11 years of marriage. While Arquette wanted their marriage to "work out," both he and Cox filed for divorce in 2012. Despite going their separate ways, the exes have remained friends they were married from 1999 to 2012 and they have a daughter together her name is Coco arquette they still say there really good friends but just not a couple also Matthew Lillard went off script for the scene when he got stabbed and said my parents are going to be so mad at me
That was a blast to watch with you guys. Grew up with this movie and the entire franchise is so fantastic!!! Please watch the rest. You know you liked it Asia lol I’ve never seen you so scared.
I believe at the end when one of the killers gets hit in the back of the head with the phone thrown by the other that was an accident (wasn't meant to hit him like that) but the actor cleverly ran with it and helped with his comedic role.
Well, who knew. Me, 50 year old British woman, and Asia have so much in common! 'Where are the curtains?', 'Why aren't the doors locked?' And 'The popcorn's burning!'. Snap!! Same questions from me!! 🤣 Great reaction guys. Hope Asia's nerves and BJ's arm are still OK at the end of October! 🤞🏻
This movie was MASSIVE when it first released. There was mad hype at the fact Drew Barrymore was killed in the opening scene..I think she was also paid the highest fee for her (very) short role. Ahhh 1996...TAKE ME BACK!
My favorite horror franchise! Saw this in theater 7 times in 96. Brought back the horror genre since horror was dead. Rip Wes Craven.
I'm so mad I didn't watch it in theaters back when it first dropped, I know that opening weekend was so amazing...
@@dawb86 it really was! To compare, it was like seeing the movie 8 mile, on actual 8 mile in Detroit. That was NUTS!
