    Great work, Sarin! As a PhD student at Harvard Medical School in the BBS Program Class of 2027, I find it interesting how research on intermittent fasting (IF) varies.
    Another systematic review from Harvard showed that IF can lead to a weight loss of about 7-11 pounds over ten weeks, but the studies stated in this video and that of some other institutions often had diverse methodologies and populations.
    The Johns Hopkins University study (talked about in this video) found that IF didn’t show significant advantages over traditional calorie restriction, particularly because participants were not required to track their calories and those not on fast were allowed to eat freely during the day. This lack of structure may have influenced the outcomes, as some participants may have eaten more than intended when not fasting.
    The difference in research approaches is notable: Harvard's studies often look into biological mechanisms across varied populations, while JHU emphasizes clinical comparisons with less controlled eating habits.
    Additionally, similar findings have been reported by institutions like the University of California, Davis, and the National Institute of Health, which have suggested that the metabolic benefits of fasting can be substantial and that fasting may lead to significant weight loss and health improvements (like in the case of IF).
    This suggests that while IF can be beneficial for some, it may not be a "one-size-fits-all" solution. Totally agree there’s still more to research, but these studies suggest there might be something more to IF than just eating fewer calories!

    Kindly see the recent research regarding memory of fat cells and why even after weight loss many people especially women fall back into weight gain and hormonal imbalance because you both guys are male you can't understand how the stress and even normal hormonal imbalance during periods/ pregnancy impacts a female body .
    Guys please grow up nutrition can't be learnt just by reading Harrison .
    Kindly explore more on genetics of Indians + hormonal balance and today's lifestyle+ today's mirco plastic+ pesticides + hybrid plants impacting bodies.
    I am also a doctor now a joint commissioner Mumbai, please believe that personal bodies are different - some are suited for intermittent fasting some may work with calories issues .So don't generalise sepacially if you are doing a program which impact so many female patients.
    And it's total non sense to stop healthy fats in diet by tablets, beta without fat how your body going to absorb fat soluble vitamins ? Already our population is suffering from vitamin D deficiency.
    Request to do proper studies before coming up with conclusion as people believe whatever is said by doctors ( despite we as medicos only know during MBBS or MD how much knowledge we carry)
