Bruh i was so excited to see zorga pretty much my main deck in both dear days and table top, plus seeing that wicked animation at the end were he literally ate greedon was precisely.
That's so deliciously ironic given it's a greedy eater like Greedon.
Just noticed they didn’t bother creating/adding a new damage counter bar (7 damage) for Greedon when he got defeated. But they did have add a 6th critical mark at V series episode 52 because of a Blaster unit having 77000 power and 6 criticals.

I think like you, I am very underwhelmed by the Divine Skill. It's supposed to be a game changer yet it's a column restander, was hoping for superalchemagic or something ahahaha. But I can understand how scary it can be, Zorga cards can get huge numbers with crits already, having that swing again really is terrifying.

Personally I prefer having an amazing main skill with a somewhat basic divine skill rather than the main skill just being alchmagic from bind
This episode was just simply crazy for the Zorga fight alone.
Zorga was scary on its own, but now with its Fated One of Taboo form, its even more scary. It's only a matter of time before we see what the actual skill text shows on Zorga Nadir.
I loved the transititon from Zorga to Masanori, and finally to the Scarecrow face on Zorga before what appears to be Zorga taking a bite out of Greedon. That one probably one of my favorite "finisher sequences" in the Cardfight Vanguard anime thus far.
PS, the Scarecrow's identity is Jonathan Crane.

Hey nice catch! I wonder if this all leads to a big meta commentary on imagination and who does the imagining? Cuz there seems to be a overarching theme there.
I mean we already knew about that starter from the Stoicheia start deck, so a new rideline to go along with the aesthetic isn't that surprising. As long the grade 1 doesn't cost a soul blast I could see it carving a home out for itself, also provided more of the support leans more into Soul Blasts to put Rancor Chain in an awkward position.
If I had to guess Akina never makes a formal plan to visit his sister, he just shows up when he can. In regards with Suo though, doesn't feels forced to me because of his experience with his sisters condition and wanting to help her, seeing Suo's condition I think triggers something for him. Also helps connect him to his vanguard so that's a plus.
Suo's character design makes more sense now. If I had to guess he probably relives the moment his parents died often in his sleep, so he might go out of his way to avoid that
Also you guys were saying dead parents were the standard for anime, but really I'd say the standard for anime characters is desperately needing therapy for something but never getting it.
Here's hoping this trend of using the underused characters from Willdress continues and maybe that'll pave a way for a new Flagburg, Baromagnes, Eugene, etc...

Masanori is the only character who might not have a completely destructive wish like Suo or destroy themselves like Akina (still not entirely sure what the masked man means). Of the three divine left Masanori is both incredibly dangerous and the most unpredictable, I just really love the dynamic. Additionally I think that the masked character might be Hikari. Aside from the six divine the only two major characters left are Akina’s sister and the masked character, and he seems adamant on opposing Akina specifically, which makes me think that she needs him for some ulterior motive, or maybe to get him to focus more of his time on her.
Oh trust me you're not the only one thinking it brother, a few folks have been theorizing the Kitsune is Hikari from the future or something and ngl I'm kinda pilled on it. Hell it could straight up be Akina from a future/reality where he won the fated clash...

If the actual Skill can use cards from hand, bind, or drop for alchemagic can be good for Zorga.
There is an old order card that says CB4 draw 2 and its cost decreases for every card in bind zone.
With this new zorga, it can easily draw 2 for free which can give more hand size for Zorga which he needs

After a one week break, a really good one but MAN I want more lol. Design Force, Gab's true intentions, Masanori's wish, Masked man's adamant desire to stop both Akina and Suo. Legit feels like we got questions than answers lol.
I also hope that they'll expand more on Akina and Suo's relationship. Akina's tendency to help others no matter what and just generally being the light in Suo's dark tunnel will bring so much to table and may play a huge part in their inevitable clash.
I commented this on the episode. Masanori vs Shinobu is like fire and ice. Greedon came in with the heat (literally) towards Masanori and ZorgaNori devours Greedon is cold AF.
And I'm beyond hype for next week. Not only it proves the naysayers wrong of Nao getting abandon after her clash (twice mind you after episode 6), but it'll also give spotlight to the Deluxe extras. Which also proves naysayers wrong lol.

Design Force has a lot of potential, idk what's gonna come of it but it might be a HUGE expansion on the overall CFV lore which would be sick.
100% agree this can be a cool relationship imo but it also could feel force and out of place so the bronance is gonna need some writing finesse lol. My personal prediction is Suou's personal journey will be one of the highlights of DivineZ, let's hope that ends up being true!

I found that Raika only used two fingers when resting units to boost/attack while the rest of the cast had to use their entire hand to do so while straining their wrists. Raika's done great preserving his wrist!

I'm glad there was a lot to unpack here considering the week so I'll go over them by Panel:
- Some Cray lore finally and showcases that the Dragontree fight wasn't just not Cray related, it was but because Will+Dress/OverDress focused more on the Earth side of things we never really saw the after effects of the war until now, it makes me kind of curious how were these Fated Ones as units before post war because it sounded like they were only anointed as Fated Ones after the design force increased thanks to Griphogila's destruction.
- Good Job Shinobu you're moving up by learning how to swing with Vanguard more than twice but still not better than just accepting the masque that you should've earned by now :/
- I don't really understand what is with the Akina losing points by not visiting his sister, it's a storm, he could've at least messaged her sure but expecting him to show up everyday whilst he has school and other things to worry about while sad for Hikari that he can't it's just expecting too much especially since he's the main one visiting too, his father is also busy as well but we're not going to blame him much either because he's the one working and putting food on the table and paying the bills.
- Akina being the type of protagonist to clean and help out others is very fitting, everybody already said their piece for feeling for Suo but personally I really feel for the Uncle, he also lost a relative and a relative in law and has to deal with raising their child after they passed away, not only is it already hard to raise a child, but raising someone that isn't even your own in the beginning and also has mental health issues that you're not prepared for or have much experience in handling considering he looks like he lives alone or maybe has a partner and that's it. It's very difficult, I don't blame him for not knowing how to approach Suo, it's at least refreshing to know that he takes care of him, although he needs to get better at cleaning his apartment lol.
- We've already seen that starter before, it was Cristianos rideline, it used to be called Wicked Slurping one of the most sussy cards to exist haha, Zorga Nadir looks pretty good being able to alchemagic from bind zone and get a free call two for just 2 Energy Blast is wicked, although I will agree it is just boring that his Divine Skill was a restand, it would've been more on theme if he just had Mist Phantasm King, Nightrose skill instead and if oppo's vg was grade 3 or greater, give one of them a crit. Also him literally eating Greedon is both ironic and sick.
- Nao getting some focus on her pursuit of being a pro is very nice, Heroes is finally getting animated, I wish they put in some Himari screentime considering it's Kyouka that's getting the RRR support treatment from the old ridelines, I initially said they aimed to give every Fated Clash character at least one win but I think Nao is going to get 2 now, I would really like a Himari vs Megumi game (or really just another Megumi focused episode, I miss those, I haven't heard Make a Splash since Will+Dress Season 1) or a Himari vs Mikoto game, Himari is a pro and someone who plays cards for the sake of surprising or dazzling her opponents, very fitting teach for Mikoto if she needs to incorporate VG in her idol job.
That was a lot, pretty good episode, hope I covered everything.
It was a solid episode. I do love the lore but the most though, Design force is a neat concept. As far as what the fated ones were like prior, I have a personal feeling that they have this sort of Yugioh thing with Pendulums where they sort of transformed due to the design Force. Hell maybe they existed in another possible reality and converged onto ours?
It's a start Shinobu, and considering he ain't ever using Greedon Masques it's a good progression lol.
Yeah I also got weirded out by Noir getting on him for it but he's naturally irritated by Akina a bit so maybe that's it. I did joke about him losing brother points but really it's not a big deal whatsoever.
"Slurping" omg what a name. Yeah it's boring but God it's strong imo, the deck might not have Masques numbers but the increased utility and stability should definitely make up for it. And yeah eating Greedon is dead ass top 10 finishers in VG anime history, amazing karma moment, dat's the food chain baby.
It's so good! Folks were worried she'd just slink into the shadows for the season after losing but this is definitely putting those fears to rest. Heroes getting animated will be great (ngl I wanna see Dynos and Darnia animated mostly). Maybe we can get Chadgene or Flagburger next? Lord knows they deserve the screentime lol.
Yeah that's a good line of thought for Mikoto, I can see her not getting touched on more yet though as she was addressed more recently and the season is approaching it's end. If they did somehow fit it in I'd be siked, Mikoto best girl!
@@godsman00 I just hope they continue to realize that as they flesh out these new and important characters that it's possible for them to also do it whilst revisiting older characters that never got enough screentime or was robbed in previous seasons for the sake of plot. Basically every pro fighter introduced in Deluxe, maybe we can meet that Gandeeva kid in the manga, or just get more screentime for Megumi or any of the old cast, I doubt Yuyu will return but I'm still coping for them to give some sort of backstory to Tomari, I can't believe she was suppose to be a main character for four seasons (OverDress S1-Will+Dress S2) only for us to still know nothing about her or her upbringings.
Bottom Line: Don't throw away characters that have still more to be explored or you goofed up with in past season.

So Zorga’s new abilities are using orders from the hand and the bind zone plus restanding rearguards in the same column. I mean considering the how some of the rearguards can get multiple crits it kind of works for the deck, but it still is pretty underwhelming if I’m being honest. So Suo’s backstory is similar to Misaki’s but they go in completely different directions in terms of how they react with relatives and the people around them.
That's the interesting thing right? It puts into perspective how much better Misaki processed the whole situation which is kinda crazy considering her indelible memory.
It would be interesting if Suo and Masanori fought in the Fated Clash and that’s when Suo finally gets a true desire and that desire would be in conflict with Akina. That desire can go one of two ways the first being Suo going full villain and wanting to destroy everything so Akina will have to be the savior. The second is that Suo could realize that he can potentially bring back his parents back to life and this will make Akina conflicted because due to his desire to save his sister.
The 2nd would be more interesting cuz I can imagine Akina's resolve faltering compared to Suou's since the dude is super empathetic as we saw this episode, literally chased a guy cuz he forgot an umbrella

i do feel like the fights are gonna go taboo vs zero but then with episode 6 and taizo saying why don't you fight akina to the masked figure makes me think we'll get a fight of them before the last clash but that's just a theory also me and a friend are talking about how akina is just the touma of Vanguard and it's been fun i've never felt more connected to the community if that makes sense can't wait for the nao episode it makes me think a reveal is gonna happen for some reason

Hey you can first use zorga nadir then on second turn you can use zorga masques
I know it’s a little simple Zorgas divine skill but it’s pretty much what I think Zorga needed. The only other way for Zorga to multi attack is keel severing a rear guard which isn’t as consistent as a vanguard skill since you need more luck to get the keel severing to drop than to just use zorgas divine skill. I know divine skills are once per fight but still more consistent but that may just be my opinion
That is fair, especially since Keel relying on a marker isn't gonna work with Nadir. I think mechanically it's fine, it lets the deck push when it potentially has game. It's just really boring tbh, I was personally hoping they'd use a skill that'd be more flavorful and expand on Zorga's gimmick.
Though the rears retiring at the end of turn is a neat touch ig, sorta feels like you're exploiting the dead for all they're worth but yeah it's still just pretty basic but neat skill like you said.
This is fascinating episode. That whole backstory is horrific, reminds me to the OG, Misaki parents that also pass away in accident. I think they pay homage to that by having Suo is been taken care by his Uncle same way as Misaki with Shin. But in here we see what could easily happen to Misaki which is horrible 😢

Also I would like to add to my previous theory about if Suo and Akina Fight and Suo would win, and the that will be the end of season one. I think this episode just kinda confirms this to me: Fated One Miracle and Fated One Zero cannot Fight One another. They are the Polar opposite: Hope and Despair. Last time Fox Mask ask Taizo to Handle Akina after Akina refuse to back down. And now he is asking Masanori to do the same for Suo after he also refuse to back down. He only ask Akina and Suo to back down, never anyone else, hell he ask the other to take out Akina and Suo. My guess letting Miracle duke out with Zero was never good idea and Fox knew thats gonna be the case if this Fated Clash Continues so he tried to stop it. Thats my theory for now. Also love the Greedon Vs Zorga. Masanori still creeps the hell out of me when he is serious 😅

For now anyway yeah, Suou's character arc might touch on it in a better way though that'll be subjective to the viewer honestly cuz tone and presentation are key there imo.
Ok alot to say for this episode
So we now know the connection between the Dragontree war and the fated clash, the war being what caused the design force to rain down to earth and manifest the fated ones
Knowing the wish can possibly alter reality now gives 2 theories of the masked person’s origins. They’re either from the future in an altered reality, or from an old altered reality from a different fated clash. Both of these have their own holes though, even with the Akari theory.
Zorga Nadir does have a disappointing Divine skill, I was expecting between Alchemagic setup, Alchemagic orders for no costs with them, or just Alchemagic with more than 2 cards but order cards still aren’t free. But column restand in a power stacking deck is kinda pressuring so decent. I didn’t notice the alchemagic is now from hand and bind at first, but that changes deck building now cause you want to NOT have your orders in drop now. Also G2 of the rideline binds an order and adds another one to hand when it hits the vanguard.
Suo vs Masanori actually feels interesting thinking about it. Cuz Masanori’s whole sadist shtick is enjoying the chaos, despair and feelings from his opponents, whether they’re negative or positive. So how would he feel against someone who literally can’t feel anything at all? Someone who feels no fear or despair, or has any drive or will to win? It’s like Ayanokoji vs Ryuen from Classroom of the elite. The logic in a nutshell with this is saying that Suo could be Masanori’s natural enemy.
And for how I think Suo vs Akina will go now. I think Suo not feeling anything is very easy to accept defeat and doesn’t have the same willpower as Akina, especially since he clearly has no desires for the wish, not even try to bring his parents back. I think instead of letting Suo win, Akina is gonna try to give Suo that drive he doesn’t have.
That is a cool connection, though the greater implications of design forced are definitely gonna need exploring but it's exciting!

Yup super interesting dynamic, the absence of sensation is almost a positive as it shields you from the turbulence that is emotion, Suou has an advantage that way which I feel they'll factor into the fight.
Also very fair, heck Akina could inadvertently throw the fight because of it. Sorta like Deku losing to Todoroki in the early tournament arc because he inspired him to embrace the fire side. Would be a fair ending to the season though man if he does then what the frick would be Suou's wish at that point given he's undergoing an Akina-induced change lol.
Just a little note that’s not actually what the G2 does. It’s Sea Breeze’s effect that got the order from drop. As of right now we kinda have no idea what the G2 does besides it seemingly having no cost.
I fucking love Nao senpai, and I'm happy she gets her own episode, it shouldn't just be the Akina show. So for this one tme I'll let the feeling that this is the "common unimpactful" episode of vanguard. Vanguard has had a history of this, the Idol episode in Willdress, and the filler in the OG vanguard. Still, best waifu of the season is carrying this episode so I have high hopes.
As for the absolute menace to society that is Masanori, I fucking love new Zorga's design, what's creepier than controlling the supernatural, becoming the supernatural! And he fucking eats the greedy demon. Loved that irony, similar to how the 7 sins died in FMA.
Most of all, I think this episode points out a lot of Akina's character, and why he does it. I think Akina might have a kind of nurse syndrome, extended from his strong desire to help his sister. When he sees someone in pain like his sister, he'll stick his neck out in next levels of support. Because to us, that is next level, physically cooking for someone, making sure they're taking care of them, etc, but to Akina that's been the minimum for him because he's had to do all this for his sister all his life. I still wonder where their mother is in all this, though it may be in part as to why his parents divorced.
But the other thing I realized that makes Akina fundamentally different than all other protagonists. I have no doubt that he has fun with Vanguard, and he's growing a passion for it, however hes also using it as a tool of sorts. One thing he's gonna us to achieve his goal of saving his sister. But to him, even if this doesn't work, even if the doctors give up, he's gonna keep reaching out for that miracle. I doubt he'll abandon Vanguard, but his paricular relationship with it may impact the rest of the season.
Oh I think the mext match will be Masanori vs Suo. The guy who desires everything, even tabboo vs the man with nothing. He even said he doesn't want anything, so he might not even have the desire to revive his parents. Or he sees right through that sus butt stuffed animal.
As for the banana mucher himself, it's difficult to tell what kind of being he is, along with whoever that masked kitsune is. Given Taizo didn't react to the face reveal, then it's likely someone of average height that he doesn't know. If we go by everyone in the Dress and Divine cast that's be quite a short list of people, but it'd also have to be someone with super natural abilites or connection, so it could just be a new character or Akina's mom.
And the banana muncher, we have to take everything he says with a whole damn salt shaker. What are your thoughts on him?
Very solid analysis here! Masanori really adds a cool perspective to this whole ordeal, really makes his role here deserved. When we first saw the cast reveals a lot of folks were wondering why him. And his thoughts and ideology clashing with everyone is why him lol.
As for our totally-not-kyubey, I'd say he's not inherently evil nor blatantly dishonest, but he's committing a lie of omission by not explaining the potential risks. This is likely because he's back in a corner and needs this fated clash to happen, perhaps because in reality he couldn't stop it regardless. Tldr I suspect he's holding out on our heroes but he's also a victim along for the ride.
@@godsman00 Honestly I thought about there being a hidden third faction too. Mainly cause in that flash back, banana muncher couldn't actually control when the fated cards happened or who they chose, but that doesn't mean he can't manipulate the situation.
I thought divineZ was gonna have it's own isolated plot in season 1, but I guess we gotta do the hidden over arching antagonist again, like with The Void, Myojin, and Jinki before.
The one thing I do feel sure of is Akina's sister, Hikari is gonna have a major role and I feel like it'll be the Tobi effect from Beyblade. A sick loved one is cured, but then turned into a weapon of the antagonist.
We never got to see Aichi and Emi fight, so this could be one of the few sibling fights we'll get other than Danji vs Mirei. Damn now I want them to have a rematch. Viamance vs Trickmon sounds awesome. Though it's probably a stomp in favor of Bav

But honestly I think Mirei's got a better chance, especially if she goes second cause yeah she misses out on early crit and early shield, but having to deal with a turn 3 final burst with potentially 5 attacks and removing her board even with her shield may drain her of resources.

Ah yes. Zorga's Divine Skill, an ancient technique which he hasn't used since the Chakrabarthi Divine Era, can restand a column. Extremely underwhelming when combined with a deck that can casually put extra crits and a lot of power on both rear columns.
Akina's gonna be like two more levels of outclassed compared to Taizo if he fights Masanori. I know Masanori didn't fight Yuyu, but as another comment said. Rezael and Zorga are both involved in reviving the dead, they are just under different presentations.
Is it the wrong thing to do? You can't choose the answer until details are presented. Rezael makes it look like it's "going to be okay", Zorga tells you it's a forbidden practice in an over dramatic way that doesn't take away from the impact.
Indeed, it makes you think that Rezael may not be the infallible savior he's presented as, but rather a being that defies the natural course of the world, be it out of pride or an inability to accept loss.
This could paint a pretty negative light on Akina ngl, but if so I love the angle! Also yeah Zorga divine skill is decent, more than anything it's super boring. At least Krysrain had the field bounce flavor but this didn't even make that attempt. Oh well, Blangdmire at least should have a pretty wicked divine skill fingers crossed 🤞

I think this was my least favorite episode so far. Zorga Nadir has a boring divine skill, Sou's reveal of being a depressed orphan was too clique for me, I think Shinobu is annoying as hell, and Akina (who has cannonically never missed a day of visiting his sister in the hospital) doesn't even consider calling her in the year 2024. At least we can alchemagic from bind zone
Damn those complaints are all fair, although ngl I would defend Shinobu cuz he's funny and I also feel for Suou a fair bit despite the cliche. But yeah fair complaints.
