I kid you not, I really thought the episode would end when Blangdmire swing his Scythe. Soo glad they show Liael = Amortha In the end there. And now it begins, he changes the future with this single move right here. And now both Akina and Suo already out of Divine Skill, it’s gonna be old fashion throw down. Next week gonna be fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥

In my opinion, if Bushi didn't spoil Liael=Amorta's PG skill I would've been way more hyped. Maybe they could've revealed it later or put a secret box on the unit when revealing it, that would've shot me over the moon. But all in all great episode and nice to see Suo have some emotions
Agreed the early reveal was a bad move but still quite enjoyable!
It's because DZ-BT02 has released on April 5th, so Bushiroad couldn't avoid spoiling Liael=Amorta's PG skill I guess.
It's also because there were 2 week without episodes, so this fight come too late

@@godsman00 I hope not. Like you said, the parallelism between Akina and Suo with their mental health create a really interesting dynamic. It would also take away Suo's agency.
I really feel like this season is going to end with Yu-Yu on a rooftop or the entrance to Wonder Hill with Trickstar on his shoulder cutting to a title screen with him saying “Cardfight!! Vanguard DivineZ+Dress!” Or “Cardfight!! Vanguard DivineZ season 2!”

You know, revealing Liael's PG skill before the anime didn't actually kill the moment or affect me too much like I thought it would. The Liael reveal only showed us how he would survive Blangdmire's Divine Skill, not how he would win or how the situation would get resolved. He could still lose but Suo might have a different wish, maybe even cure Hikari or something.
see that's a big idea I'm having too, where Suou wins the fight but wishes for an actual wish. That would be so cool because Akina changes fate not through gameplay but by his strength of character.
When someone wishes to save "everyone", does that include themselves?

As for the conclusion of the fight next time, personally hoping that Suo wins but Liael bought Rezael/Akina enough "time" to reach a positive conclusion with Suo/Blandmire. More likely that main character wins after pulling off Rezael's miracle one more time, but I'm hoping Suo pulls off his own miracle in the face of that.
I'm sorta thinking the same thing, it feels like Akina's victory is gonna be in saving everyone (even himself though that's his last concern) rather than just winning the fight, since he has more "time" to break through (good pun indeed lol).
Oh yeah a clean shot for sure, I also loved Suou's expression changes, it's a gratifying thing to watch!

My personal theory is that they were planning on this being the big reveal for Liael's guard skill, but the anime production fell behind. We got 2 break weeks during the season, which means that this episode was originally planned to air on the 29th of March, just one week before the release of DZ-BT02. They even waited to reveal Liael abilities until the final week before the set released, which supports my theory. Anyway, I think Divinez has been so good and competently written that a spoiler of this level doesn't really detract from the quality of the show. I'm of the opinion that a truly good story is still good even if spoiled beforehand. Also I agree with the theory that Akina is hiding a lot of darkness inside himself, but I personally doubt that's gonna be explored during this season. My expectation is that Akina's lack of self-preservation it's gonna become a major plot point in a future season. And, when it finally gets addressed, Suo is gonna be the one to break through him
Interesting point about the production timing, it'd make sense since the JP release of DZ set 2 was released on the 5th which is less than 2 weeks ago so the times line up. Good note!
I said this many times on other platforms and I'll say it again, that ending shot would've been giga fire if Bushi haven't reveal Liael's PG skill yet. Or if the season doesn't have any in between breaks. But it is what it is.
Very solid first half tho. And I really like you're theory that Masanori staying just because he wants to feel vindicated against Suo lol.
Theory time. A big one I saw is Akina using Liael might cause a time paradox as Liael came from the future and her Design Force technically does not exist in the current timeline. Basically Akina's using an illegal card in a sense which might have great consequences. And which might lead to season 2.
YUUUUP that is a huge case of missed potential. But hey Ep.13 could still bring another wild twist we're not expecting like is Suou actually WINS the fight but Akina breaks through to him so he makes an actual wish that doesn't kill everyone.

Something I think is unlikely but its possible, if Akina does end up suffering because of using Lial in the fated clash, since I read it somewhere that Lial should not take part in the fated clash. Next season if any could be Suo figuring out how he feels about Akina and now that Akina is the one in trouble he might need to start going forward if he wants answers.

Next episode really is gonna be real hype, I'm excited. I'm hoping we get to hear "The Apocalypse" one last time before we wait for another 3 months.
Also I'm very doubtful on Blangdmire possession theory, since it's been going on since before he got the card anyway.
I also agree on Akina having some sort of sacrifice complex, that's something I noticed since Hikari backstory ep and thought they would touch on that during their fight.
Also something I've been forgetting to say, but since Divinez first reveal info for the anime we thought Megumi would be the G Kamui of the series. But it's actually been looking more like Taizo is filling that role, especially for Hikari

My honest opinion they should have waited to reveal Liael until after this episode to surprise people this episode.
Oh we all feel that one brother, it cheapened the moment but I'm secretly hoping there's a more crazy reveal next episode to make up for it.

Masanori's dualogue has just been hitting this season. Bastion main that I am, I kmow my Grade 3's and was able to make ojt Divine Sister Lepisto in Suo's flashback despite it being nearly fully covered up.
Anyways, I'm still fully expecting Blangdmire to pull an Osbourne or Ishmelga

Honestly a good formula for great fights is utilizing OT outside of drive checks, it's a cool moment in a few of the fan favorite fights like Danji vs Michiru R2 or Raika vs Yuyu R2.

Yeah tbh that's the move, I'm rescultping the deck around Nilberus, it's liek Caedwalla but better imo but still running caedwalla because of it's early game potential plus the SB helps put Nilberus back in drop.
Another fight that leaves me in suspense just like yuyu vs gui. Who knows how things will end.
Maaaan imagine a twist ending where Suou wins but Akina instills light in him so his wish changes to something positive.

This is the least amount of critical triggers Akina’s put back with Rezael’s divine skill and I find that super funny since his usual amount is about 4-5

Naw we ain't there yet, maybe when they're willing to let the best mechanic (G-guards) in Vanguard history come back we'll see how much it helps.
I can't remember where it was mentioned, but Akina's mom died and to cope, his dad threw himself into work. Hence why Akina and Hikari seem perpetually without parents.

I think he was trying to avoid Suo attacking a rg. 1 of Suo rgs can increase it’s critical. This way Akina has a bigger chance at hitting 5 damage
@@lukesun4975 I doubt Suo would go for rear guards here as Blangdmire’s divine skill turn is more often than not it’s deciding turn so you almost *have* to kill
But if he doesn't draw a critical only 1 of the attacks can kill. He has Zamuug with it's 2 crit. If that hits then the game is over. Meanwhile, Akina is at 4 damage. Unless Suo draws a crit then the other rg attack won't kill.

So he could have bound Guargaon knowing that Suo will try and go for game with the divine skill and knowing that he’ll be able to guard it with Liael, and still have an intercept
If Suo doesn't draw a critical he would go for the rg with his own rg with 1 crit before he attacks with the Zamuug. Akina made the right call. Plus it gives him an extra card on the field to attack.
