I totally fell in love with Luang Prabang and hope to go back one day to see all the things I may have missed. Wow so surprised I was eating breakfast in the best viewpoint cafe just weeks ago. Lungprabang is relaxing place and looking to revisit in the future again. Keeping up with the good videos.

It is. You should consider creating tours with included meditation. That would be awesome. Now that I have bought Dammapadda I am soon prepared :). Combined hiking with vipassana, that would be quality.

Btw, have you heard of Björn Natthiko Lindeblad? He passed away two years ago in ALS but he had a very fascinating story. He left a very succesful career as VP of a huge company to become a Buddhist Monk in Wat Pah Nanachat. But after 16 years he found love and decided to leave but he continued talking about Buddhism, meditation and life in general. Did you ever visit that monastery? That is actually another subject. How common is it to enter and leave monasteries? Can you go take "vacation" from them? Or is it more typical that you go in as youth and stay all life? I was also thinking of those famous Shao Lin monks (that I actually met once on a flight). There they have to queue up for years before they are even let in but you get some awesome martial arts education.
I will arrive on February 10th for my 3rd visit from the UK. I volunteered at Big Sister Mouse school for the day last year and went on an Orange Robe tour with guided meditation, which I was not good at!
It still is on my list to visit first thing I go back. Will probably stay for a month to wander and tour. It’s nice to know there is a library there now. When you do have a tour, please post it here. I will definitely sign up with you.
There are two Libraries in Luang Prabang, the one on the video is called"Luang Prabang Library" and another one called"My Library" runs America lady. I will keep you posted if I ever do the tour. That would be a long time away from now, but I've been thinking about for awhile.

Exactly, probably around 5% of all the properties that have been listed for sales are actually sold. No one can afford it. Some houses have been listed for sales since years ago and are still there unsold.
AirBnB is known to be expensive here. The alternative is probably getting a guesthouse room would be a lot cheaper. Or if you can find, renting a fully furnished home with two bedrooms would cost around $500-600/ month. The thing though, it is hard to find a short-term rent here. Most houses are on long-term rent from 6 months to one year
Laos border immigration officers always asking "tips" from chinese tourists. It's so annoying. I know it's common practice in southeast Asia like Laos, Cambodia, and certainly African countries to do that to specifically chinese tourists.
Yea, I hope they change it. This topic was brought up during the conference sometime ago, as the government is trying to promote Laos tourism in 2024. Let's hope they change this habit.
@natnomad Cambodia, according to Chinese tourists, is notoriously targeting them for so called tips. If not complied, immigration officers would ask you to step aside from the queue, having you to wait for hours until you give up and hand them money, I too would love to see the ancient site of Angor Wat, but this practice really turns me off, so I decided to not going.
