Dr. Jordan B. Peterson and Eric Metaxas discuss his most recent book, “A Letter to the American Church,” which argues a betrayal of faith by those who stay silent in the face of tyranny. They parallel the arbiters of speech across history against those populating today, and detail the responsibility to act against falsehood that is intrinsically present in the Abrahamic tradition, yet increasingly absent in the American church today.
Eric Metaxas is an American author, speaker, and radio host. He has written award winning biographies, such as “Bonhoeffer,” as well as children's books like “Squanto and the Miracle of Thanksgiving,” Metaxas hosts Socrates in the City, a recurring popular event where he interviews writers and thinkers on theology, moralism, and philosophy. He also hosts the nationally syndicated Eric Metaxas Show, more broadly referred to as “The Show About Everything.”
Dr. Peterson's extensive catalog is available now on DailyWire+: bit.ly/3KrWbS8

I finished reading Letter to the American Church last night as I went to sleep. During the night I dreamed about 2 Samuel 20 so I looked it up when I awoke. It is the story of a wise woman who took a stand to save her city from destruction. I will not remain silent. Thank you for awakening my consciousness to the fact that I CAN make a difference, even though I’m in my 60s.

I just read 2 Samuel 20 today. She also threw the head of Sheba over the wall! There is currently a certain leader who needs to be removed. (I am not saying do the same)!! He is destroying this country.

I find myself having to speak the Truth, about "politically correct" mind bending, (example: saying "them" when speaking about one person, in order not to use the male "him" as has been done in the English language. WE ARE DESTROYING THE AUTHENTICITY OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE WITH SUCH RIDICULOUS PHRASES!!! Other languages have the Neutral part of speech, "IT" when speaking about a child, for instance. No need to identify gender, just a child, where IT is a general way to express the point). I have written about the self sacrifice required, in order for all of us to "do our little part" towards cleaner air, by NOT, using a drive-by window at a business, which often becomes a long line of cars around the building, all expelling gas exhaust, when it would be better to "PARK & WALK". I have been insulted for speaking up, but I know I need to try to get others to see the reasoning behind what I say or write.

Thank you both! I stood alone in my school speaking and DOING what was true and good for the children against such oppression. The slander and bullying by the administration was beyond anything i could have imagined. These men are correct. I didn’t compromise and paid a price as some will always believe the slanderous statements. But I can promise that I have peace when I lay my head down on my pillow and I KNOW my God is forever with me and directing my path. This isn’t my “real” home and we aren’t promised an easy life when following Christ but the inner joy and peace He gives will sustain until I am home with Him!!

Thank you both of you for speaking the truth as I see it, the church of America and of Europe (I live in the UK) needs to hear this!

His biography makes you realize that when evil arises a Christian has to decide who he really is and then decide what actions are the right ones according to God. Bonhoeffer’s dedication combined with those internal struggles challenged me. Would I have that kind of resolve? Only with Gods help.

I was happy to hear his testimony also. It's interesting to hear how God works in people's lives through there very personal experiences. I had a very similar experience with the Lord when He was drawing me to Himself. He used reason and someone else's dream about me. I also had the experience in reality of colors being brilliant after I was born again--like sunglasses were removed from my eyes. It happened after hearing the gospel about Jesus dying for my sin and being convicted of being a sinner while watching a TV evangelist. I repented and asked the Lord to forgive me thru tears of sorrow. Then it was as if a waterfall washed through my body from head to toes and a burden was lifted. I felt cleansed, joyful and light as a feather. I also immediately knew the Bible was God's Word and it was all true. It was like I was experiencing another dimension and God's presence just flooded me. I haven't been the same since that day in 1985. I found out later that Jesus said in the Bible that we must be born again--that's what it felt like--a spiritual birth. God is so amazing!!! Thank you, Jesus, for dying in my place. I can't express how grateful I am that you would die for me. I will always speak Your truth. Help me to always be courageous.

      Identity is power sound mind
I just finished listening to an Interviewee of a scientologist who is now free interesting when they speak about spiritual beings spiritual assignments they know more about what they can do in allowing spirits into their bodies and multiple spirits in the realm they definitely Interviewee of a scientologist who is now free interesting when they speak about spiritual beings spiritual assignments they know more about what they can do in allowing spirits into their bodies and multiple spirits in the realm they definitely Vessels in in the spiritual realm but they also talk about planets and other beings they do not limit themselves to just a body and being taught about their body in their minds But spiritually being taught That their mind and their spirit can be stronger than their bodies Of course it's being possessed like evil spirits
Christianity I agree with the statement above from the last person who commented it's not about learning who we are the God telling us who we are he says that we have power to kill and destroy like David who not only hit Goliath with the Stone in the Slingshot but he also got his sword to kill the giant many of us in the story with Khalid fell down But many have to get the sword to kill the giant
That's the difference of understanding and God telling you who you are to have the power and authority to get your sword out and kill the giant the enemy these evil force sword of the spirit is not just to resist the devil
We have power to cast outTo deliver and set others free who are bound by these evil spirits possessing other bodies their minds
I understand that we are body here on Earth but we are of and it's interesting that we do have a spirit so we don't usually talk about this a lot in church about the spiritual realm although in the Bible it tells us about satan going up to heaven into the courtrooms and job it talks a lot about it and there's other places in the Bible I prevailations Isaiah the chair bump it's interesting that John himselfEnoch Elijah all had powersTransferred up to heaven whether it was by a chariot of fire it's hard for us to conceive spiritual visual heavenly spiritual things to see them the way that they are
I've just listened to the scientologist speak I was thinking that their eyes were exposed to sea these things so why we as Christians can't see these things why we are hindered maybe because it's the evil spiritual Realm that is blocking us
Our identity is we are seatedOn the right hand of the father we are not seated and earthly brown we are seated in the heavenly room whether we are here on Earth in this earthly body it says that we are right now seated at the right hand of the father we have permission to go in to the throne room of grace boldly
It's knowing the position of our identity of God telling us who we are the power that we have invested we're being signed in by the city to get the power and authority to use that gun to kill down any thief or person assaultingAnother person is gonna threaten a person's life to arrest the person antipote judgment on that person until they go into the courtroom we have that access to do through the spirit
Not many people talk about are rights a territorial demons either but jesus said that when you see the father do you will do also and do exceedingly more
Being up are in the year 2024 and seeing that the year of the dragon will be coming very soon when China celebrates their New Year with the speed of a dragon spirit of all chaos well thisThe year of pestilence sickness death disease caused by many of these demons
Today my eyes have been open in revelation but I'm still bound in darkness to actually see ask it in the person prayed Lord opened up his eyes to see and he saw the angels what a site
Maybe part of the church is we should pray for this site to be seen but maybe we would get afraid so maybe we need to pray that we not only are told what our identity is but that we would have more understanding of what we can do it
Like investing for gain to have wealth. The laws n principles of sowing reaping. Is God ok with us using the enemies tools web system to profit. In Isiah 45 says the sabeans will serve us. Bible says seek God's kingdom rightness is it God's allowance to use crypto to gain. As we us fiat currency. In laws of meeting our bodily earth needs to be wealthy can we use tye enemies AI system to preach to all the world. All things ✨️??
I heard a message it's now time to kill the giant Goliath. How? Using word of god. Or do we bring the giant to God ask beg n say holy spirit do it. Not by power might but by you. When God said I GIVE U POWER. SOUND MIND OF CHRIST
HOLY SPIRIT GIVE US CLARITY YOU LIVE IN US.
LIKE SICKNESS HOLY SPIRIT LIVES IN US. SO NO SICKNESS HURT INUURY MIND ALTERED DEmentia should be in us.
God is liberal with his wisdom n I ask in all sincerely.
GOD POUR OUT HIS POWER IN THESE LAST DAYS.
WE ARE OF ONE GOD ONE SPIRIT NOT MANY.
BUT I WONDER WHY EVIL PEOPLE OR PLAIN PEOPLE CAN SEE MORE SPIRITS THEN US CHRISTIANS. WOULD IT HARM HURT US.
OR SEEING GOOD ANGELS N HEAVENLY STUFF.
THE MIND IS DEFINITELY A TOOL INSTRUMENT OF GOD. ITS FASCINATING OUR BODY N SOULS HOW ALL THIS WORKS

Our old church decided to "love their neighbor" by closing, then counting, distancing, required masking, and even photographing people so they could give the county a list in case someone got covid. We left, as did a huge number of members. We joined a church that probably doubled since covid. Our new church did close briefly but opened in the early summer and were back to normal without any requirements within 4 months.
It wasn't covid that caused our family to leave after nearly two decades, but the theology behind the decisions made. The first church appeared to fear the world's opinion and sought to submit church worship to the government. The second believed God is sovereign and we obey Him, regardless of man's opinion.

  • @Serraainc
    @Serraainc 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

I’m a 26 years old Iraqi clinical pharmacist. My name is Serraa Khaphají. And this is a message to Dr. Peterson.
I’ve been a student of your teachings since 2017, and I cannot help but agree with the majority of what you teach, share, voice, and believe. The reason that got me to comment today is this: I’ve overheard my parents watching an Iraqi interview between a tv show host and an activist, discussing the concept of the ‘social gender’, and the conspicuous opinion -now- that gender includes the social, psychological, cultural and behavioral aspects of both biological genders and ‘supposedly’ other gender-identity. This ideology is being openly discussed here in Iraq, on the political front, but not yet socially. We Iraqis have the not-so-intellectual attitude to care about ‘trend’ a little bit more than necessary, and to be entirely honest, I am terrified.
Iraq has been the closest thing to the host of multi-angled totalitarian despotism ever since 1978, or maybe before that. Politically, religiously, and socially, Iraq has been abused far more than what’s imaginable, and it is not getting any better, not with this. Why? Is the Left absolutely scared of their ‘theory’ falling out of proportion to the point they have to push it to another country to support it? Why this? People here have been confused as it is about raising their children since the 80s, and I know it never looked like it was getting any better (at least across my personal lifespan), but this? This where our politics still doesn’t accept homosexuality?
I always agree with your notion about specifying a place to stay the hell away from, I never thought though, that this place would be my country, not to this extent.
I hope this gets discussed by intellects like you, who search and seek the truth, and I hope you see this, because truly, never have I felt before to this degree, that things are spilling uncontrollably out of hands.
    Thank you…

This is a great episode, but it all must go back to the person of Christ. He founded one religion in the year, 33, ad. The same religion has persisted, and even gone underground to a degree. You can still find the places where the Catholic Church existed 2000 years ago. The writing show evidence of the same teachings and the same sacraments. This is why my wife’s family have always been St. Thomas Christians and their faith has never changed. But heresy cannot save you

I wrote and rewrote this comment a dozen of times and still can't get it shorter than this. I am overly joyous/excited/thrilled after watching this video and for many many reasons too. One of them is that is extremely satisfying to listen to smart, intelligent, erudite, man whose hearts are in the right place. Man who love the truth, righteousness, justice, and above all GOD our creator. Another very important thing is the message and I need to tell you guys: It has been received. I was also struck by the Eric's testimony about how he came to Jesus. This is exactly what happened to me just a different dream. May I just say - Mr Peterson I appreciate how you pushed Eric to tell this story because in actuality this is our testimony/witness for the kingdom. I have also noticed that this theme keeps coming up over and over in Christian media. It confirms and encourages my believe that we have to take a stand and not be passive observers of what's going on around us. I learn to take responsibility for my own words and actions. Dear brothers and sisters in the faith, I want to leave you with this: if you do not find it in yourself - go to our Father in heaven. He is the one who will give you the change of heart. You can't do anything without Him. This is all H e wants - for you to seek Him, trust Him, obey Him. THE BATTLE BELONGS TO THE LORD. Choose who is your Lord today!

I have experienced the conversion that Eric Metaxas described. Before I gave my life to Christ, I had my own standard of good. I took some sin behavior as extremely serious, but glossed over the rest. When I had broken my own standard of good, I had nowhere left to go, but to seek after God. In my brokenness, I asked God if He would forgive me for something I knew better than to do, and He showed me a great storm, I was at the foot of the cross of Jesus Christ, and in that moment, I KNEW that God had forgiven me.
Shortly after I had repented of my sin and recieved God's forgiveness and trusted in the finished work of Jesus, the free gift of salvation, my eyes were opened to all the sin around me, and I was mortified by what I had taken so casually in my own eyes, and then seeing it from God's perspective as deadly serious. Sin is deadly serious to God.
So, I get exactly where Eric Metaxas is speaking and sharing from. It's a a complete shift in perspective, and it does matter to God.

It seems the Death Camps of 'social media' are just starting to be uncovered. It's so evil some people are denying it happened, the same way Holocaust Deniers / Nazi Sympathys sinfully turn a blind eye and pretend 6 million Jews were never brutally executed.
If you want brutal you just keep lying and see where you'll end up.

Thank you for adding your voices and using your influence. The complicity of silence from Christians convicts me. I would love a podcast on the best ways to do this in the social media realm without ostracizing people. I'm not sure that's even possible on social media.

This has been one of the most fascinating interviews! As a Christian, I am thankful for this discussion and I completely agree Eric Metaxas! We, as Christians MUST start standing up for what’s right and true! We have an obligation to stand up and if not, we will pay for our complacency!!

Amen. As an Italian living in the US, I find that this is an immensely important topic, as I’m shocked to realize what many people “think” christianity is about. Thank you for having this conversation. God bless you all.

Religion is down to an individuals interpretation and they can pick and choose parts to follow based on their own morals. It's always changing anyways....the popes change their mind with things all the time to keep up with modernization. Very interesting.

@@dazzat91yeah, the codified morality didn't proliferate and create the best societies on earth because people were picking and choosing. Why comment when you don't know anything
