I enjoyed your story about the crusty old boss. So many of us have come up thru the ranks like that. I logged for a guy like that. Like you said, at the end of the day you can try to take something positive away or let it consume you. I’ve been working with saws since I was 15 when I went to work bucking for a guy on a logging show, done a lot of stuff since, but now do tree work in the good part of the year and build saws the rest of the time. This community of saw enthusiasts and working on saws is mostly a rewarding addiction. I’m always happy to help encourage people. That’s what made me decide to start my channel, I enjoy showing people some of my skills and accomplishments. Some of this was becoming a lost art. Merry Christmas 🎅🏻👍
Good info on a good saw. Got a Cutters Edge saw and converted it back to a paper filter. That big filter is nice, but it sticks out alot when you are running the saw in the woods. Only took getting ripped off once and that was enough.
When I bought my 2152 years ago, the covers held down by the clips were an upgrade from those held down with three screws. I was told that at least. My 2152 has the same type cover & air filter as your 2165 & my dad's 2165. I haven't used a 2171 with a Cutters Edge filter set up. Looks like a UNI filter to me & very easy to find on eBay. It's a common filter & nothing all that special (except larger than the normal stock air filter).
There’s plenty of forums out there that you can ask questions and get answers from many chainsaw “experts”. But you know you just can’t fix stupid! Btw nice shirt. Lucky guy to have a wife that gives good presents and lets you work on your chainsaw in the kitchen.
finding a filter that fit's is not the problem, finding that special adapter is more of a problem. maybe someone has cad files for printing it. did you ever think about oiling your foam filter? in my opinion those only filter as intended when you put on the sticky filter oil as on dirt bike air filters. But than that design is quit a mess with that sticky filter right in fron of ya. happy Birthday an greets from northern Germany
I understand where your old boss comes from I'm older and I just wonder how the teens and 20 year olds can be so stupid sometimes. I look back and I did the same thing That's what everybody in the world needs to realize Happy birthday and many great years to come
Just a question. When cutting red oak. Do you get chips? Or just dust? I was using a Jonsered 2245 with a brand new chain. It was throwing some chips, but mostly dust. Is it because oak is so dense?
Google is definitely a skill to have. Even better is when you learn to use the browsers translate add-on, then you have access to all those non english speaking forums from around the world.
There's three king size you haven't got right now the 1201-3120 and the steel msa1 you buy those and put 36 in bar on customize you want you'd have the king size of them all you'd have the envy of everybody on this channel
Happy birthday. Forty six you're still young.
Everyone wish this old timer a happy birthday

Happy Birthday Boedy. Great shirt Irene.
For my 2071 I ordered a cutters edge stack from a fire rescue supplier in the Midwest for 50$. I’m running the same UNI and it works great.
