Thanks for watching!! What does your meal preparing routine look like?! Is it similar to mine or do you portion out your meals in advance? Let me know 😁

MissLizHeart I make foods and store them in large containers I don’t portion them out. When I’m ready for any of them I’ll plate my portion!

I don’t mean to sound cheesy or insincere but I’ve always envisioned keeping a healthy, beautiful, and comfortable home for myself (I live alone so I’ve always wanted to create a little peaceful beautiful retreat to come home to each day.) Sometimes it seems insurmountable when I’m swamped at work or life happens, but your channel and others like yours with genuine content showing how beautiful home-making can be attainable for someone like me motivate me to keep striving for the beautiful life I want for myself. You’ve truly made a difference for me, so thank you.

I take my green onions and put them in a jar with water on my window seal. Within a day or two use them by cutting off some of the green I leave about 1 or 2 inches of green. In a few day they grow roots and then regrow the green part. Just remembered to change the water every few days. When bulb onions are on sale I cut them in slices and some I chop up. Put them in freezer containers. And use for cooking, because freezing makes them soft. I do the same thing to bell peppers and jalapeno peppers.

Sooo many good hacks!! My toddler loves home made fries. I boil cut-up potatoes in salt water. I boil them half way so they’re still a bit firm in the middle. I turn off the heat I do this in the morning. I leave the potatoes in the water till my toddler is hungry for fries, usually around 11ish. I drain the water and fry in oil. They taste as good as fast food fries without the additives and chemicals. My husband loves them too. You can keep them in water for 6-8 hours.

    Hi Liz. Love your channel!
I always use the pre-minced garlic in oil that comes in a jar from the produce section. Since you store your garlic in oil anyway, have you ever thought of using the pre-minced variety? I find it to be really quick & convenient. No peeling!
Do you use your vinegar wash on softer, more sensitive foods like raspberries, blackberries & mushrooms?
Also, I love your pickling idea, but I don't "do" onions. What other items do you pickle like that?

  • @4themotherload

Thank you for the video! Everything was wonderfully concise and clear. I love the vinegar wash. I didn't want to buy one of those vegetable washes but didn't know what else to do other than soak in salt water (but that adds salt). Also, I always saw the storing method for fresh herbs as something cool but only finally tried it recently and omg it makes such a difference. Around one week longer. Though I did one in the fridge and one on the counter and you are so right, with a house running warm or warm weather around it doesn't work.
