Super Mario Bros. is a very unique game, even within its own franchise. It's a technical game where you need to manage your speed, jumping height, trajectory and other aspects very tightly in order to succeed in overcoming the various platforming challenges. Even compared to its later iterations, the restricted movement within this game makes it fun to play even today.
The music in this arrangement was made for fun, not for profit. I don't intend to fight copyright battles. I know the big N is stingy with its music these days, but I'm still gonna upload if somebody were to like the work I did. As far as I'm concerned, feel free to use this music in your own projects if you'd like to; but as always I would really appreciate if you told me. I'm always interested to see your work. ^^
This was arranged using Famitracker and various samples for drum effects. It's arranged for the VRC6 expansion chip, which means that this can be exported to be played back on real hardware. Thanks for stopping by! - เพลง

Hello world; I'm not yet dead!
Returning to this video is quite an experience, at the moment of writing there are 30.000 of you who found your way here; with 100 of those leaving comments and over a thousand likes. I'm honored and humbled that so many found my work enjoyable! Even seeing it popping up in a few fan projects over the years fills me with joy and gratitude! 😄
The purpose of this letter is twofold; for newcomers, welcome aboard! To those of you who patiently await new uploads; I'm sorry to have disappointed you. When changes happen in real life, sometimes you have to step back from your hobby projects. At this time I'm not yet ready to upload more covers, but I am alive and well. When I see this level of commitment and passion from you, inspiration and gratitude fills me.
And just to clarify; YES! You have my consent to use these in any way you like. This is the internet and my covers are a drop in this vast ocean. I make no claims to these videos, it's just a love letter and a tribute.

I still listen to this cover quite often, and i'm convinced this is probably how a nes re-release could've sounded like in a parallel universe.
The addition of a dissonant chord to the "hurry up" version of the overworld theme is such a perfect addition that I'll forever be surprised that it's not in the original version.
Seriously sounds like something Koji Kondo would made up for a remake or a Super Mario Galaxy game.

4:40 This is proof that having a faster tempo is not enough to create tension in an otherwise happy overworld platforming theme. You need rapid pedal notes in the bass and diminished chords in the melody (pretty sure those are diminished chords there, music theorists feel free to correct me) to really feel a sense of urgency...which you did really well!
My only real criticism is that these methods used in the overworld theme waeren't apparent in the underwater theme or the dungeon theme. That would've been sick hearing some sort of spooky counterpoint happening in the triangle wave, or even more chaotic duty-cycle moduation in the pulse wave.
Regardless, I loved this VRC6 arrangement! If you're still doing stuff like this, can't wait to hear more

I kinda wish the underground theme was remixed a bit further but I love this so much I keep on listening to it great job!
I LOVE that the "hurry up" variations are more hectic and add extra instruments instead of just being faster versions of each song (especially the underground theme). Overall, loved each of these remixes, keep up the good work!

Okay, that ending music legit made me cry, the key change reminded me of the Mario 64 credits music.
I've literally heard this soundtrack used in a Mari0 AE mod and it had remade Mario sprites to compliment this change. Was it used with permission?

The only music changes I remember between it and the original NES version were the full complete ending theme and the addition of a theme for name registration, which eventually ended up in Super Mario Maker 2. If the soundtrack did have expansion channels, I bet people would've talked about it a bit more.
@@TheBallWithTheShield Yes, the Overworld auto-remix for the name entry is from that arcade version. But the extended ending theme is originally from Super Mario Bros. 2 (The Lost Levels) on Famicom
@@FukiMakai Well yeah, the extended ending theme ended up in the Lost Levels, but it was played for the first time in VS. in the style of the first Super Mario Bros. ending, not with all the extra "instruments" that Lost Levels had to offer by being on the Disk System.

This! I would love to see a “remaster” of it the game but redone on nes. The nes has proven to be able to have much better art than what was done on Mario 1. Maybe redone in the Mario 3 engine or something but with art that enhances the original direction of Mario 1
