    If you ever have a MARINE at family day and you see a MARINE without a family please fell free to adopt him for the day. I was adopted by by a family. Made my day. Later my SR D.I. Said “ you ever look at my daughter that way again I will own you! Yep His wife and family adopted me.

      Hahaha! Semper Fi, brother! My family....didn't show up for mine, or even tried. So, me and "the few" others that didn't have anybody show hung out and had an AMAZING time!! Sure, it was painful, but... WE were all the family we needed! 💯
      But, yes... ABSOLUTELY... adopt one or a group if you're able, so you can see how he is with his newfound brothers! ♥️💛

      Facts. My late father took three of my guys and had them hang out with us. Meador, Rohman, and Bazama. Almost 25 years later, I still remember that Thursday afternoon VIVIDLY.

    For the rest of my life nothing will ever compare to that day of graduation and the feeling we all had . That feeling of joy ranks right up with the birth of my 3 kids and seeing it. I went back a couple years ago when I was in San Diego visiting my brother. I decided to go see a graduation on a Friday, all I can tell you is that when I stepped on the parade deck after 30 plus years it all came back, what emotional experience it was.

    Oh the memories. This happened for me and Platoon 1009 on November 20th, 1997. I actually remember getting CATCALLED during the moto run. Those slicks were really flattering for the glutes lmao. We showered and met up with our folks...a couple of my platoon mates didn't have family make it out, so my dad...never enough attention, had them hang out with us. It was wonderful. I still remember the Carl's Jr Western Bacon Cheeseburger I had...it was like a crackhead gettin' a fix, it was so good lmao.

    • @AJxxxxxxxx
      @AJxxxxxxxx 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      tcarr Carrasco the best thing you can do for your son mam is to send as many letters as possible and order him to go to church on sundays. also there may be a period were you won't get letters from him and this is do to the fact that in the 2nd month they take the recruits to Camp Pendlton and there will be very little time for the recruits to write letters don't worry your son will be fine and will come back a new person he will come back As My fellow Marine brother and every Marine will protect your son becomes he will become part of a brotherhood. Try to talk to his recruiter back were he first signed up and ask if you could put him on recruiters assistants, if he gets approved then after his graduation at bootcamp he could spend up to 3 or 4 weeks back at home, and helping his recruiter get more boys to sign up for the marines. Also remember he is going to be very tired when he gets out so when you take him home try to give him some breathing room to just sleep and recover for 2 days after that he should be fine to go do family activities again.

    There was no such thing as family day in 1957. As a matter of fact, all we got was 4 hours Base Liberty after graduation. The following day, we were put into what they called “Cattle Cars,” and take. To Camp Pendleton to begin a month of ITR (Infantry Training Regiment). The Real Corps!

    I'm sorry but I was never a fan of civilians oozing all over MCRD (grad. 4/17/'68). Too many Marines forgot to stay tight as soon as they graduated. That was especially evident @ ITR. Of course our troop handlers were salty 'Nam Vets who were mostly short-timers & were either wacky or didn't give a damn & I'm sorry & ashamed to have to admit that. It's a true blessing we now have the Crucible & the DI's are there to maintain discipline. Marines WILL ALWAYS be the BEST! Semper Fi! Jarheads! But re. this video.....WTH has happened to maintaining COVER & ALIGNMENT?! Watch WWII German Wehrmacht troops on U-Tube...much less the SS.....now THAT's proper cover & alignment !!!!
