    Opening up to you guys!
I have been getting a lot of negativity (especially from women) which makes me sad that people can't be proud or happy for others and their lives. I have had a very fun and hard journey trying to make Germany my home/second home. I have tried to share my experiences with you guys and be as... "open" as possible without showing too much and keeping some things for myself.
I just wanted to give you guys a little reality check of what it was like during my 3 years and the years prior to actually coming to Germany because everyone seems to think it has only been daisies and sunshine during my Germany journey. Don't get me wrong, I would not change anything BUT just letting you know that not everything has been handed to me on a silver platter during my stay in Germany as so many people like to think.
I hope if you are going through something like I went through and are wanting to leave PLEASE do. You won't regret it and no matter what... PUSH THROUGH and never give up!!
A little zusammenfassung of this video: How my idea came about to move to Germany, why I moved to Germany, everything I have been through since day 1 and all my personal rants that I could possibly have in one video. PLUS it's a long video so hopefully you kept up :D
If you like personal videos like this please let me know in the comment sections, I have a bunch of story times I could tell you guys!
ANDDD if you have gotten this far... Comment: I really like cheese on my pickles (it's our little secret).

Hayley Alexis hi there. You know what, by this video, you might have inspired and influenced people out there positively, who might be struggling with things, with their work, life, etc. You have come a long long way and still there is a lot to achieve. I really appreciate the efforts that you put in your videos. I wish you all the success and happiness. Keep hustling. Have a good one. :)

+Rahul Rathee It's not "you might have inspired and influenced people out there positively" .
Hayley HAS a positive influence period.
That's why I'm allways happy when I see that see she puts out a new video.
She radiates more positivety then Tschernobyl radiates dangerous shit.
And I say that as a grumpy old middle aged man, who never fitted in society like others did.
She has bigger balls then a lot of men that are so called tough guys.
Why, you might ask, because she is way more intelligent then she knows she is, and she
never ever used the victim/race card to get something done.
Mike knows Hayley is his winning lottery ticket, but he might not know that the ticket
      found him.......
      Enjoy; th-cam.com/video/1N8BYNMMjqU/w-d-xo.html

It sounds like I did the same thing just reversed the Countries. I was born and raised in germany and went to the states as Au Pair because it was the simplest way of going there and making a little bit of money and have a roof over your head. Same thing, didn't seem to fit in my own culture too well, ended up in a family in the states that was pure soap opera worthy, moved out and was essentially homeless. A good friend took me in for a week then I did another stint as Au Pair for 5 weeks and went home to Germany but not before I met a guy. A few month later I came back to the USA, got married, moved around a lot within the United States, got divorced and still live here. Life in the states seems SIMPLER. I don't know how else to describe it. My entire family is still in Germany but I don't think I will have move back. Don't give me wrong I am a very proud German and love a lot of things there. When I go back to visit I am excited and miss my life in Germany but once I am there I miss my life in the States . I feel like I belong neither here nor there. BUT, besides a few sad days of not knowing where I belong I am very happy with my life I wouldn't change much at all. I am unsure how long you have been in Germany but I have been in the States now 19 Years. It took about 5 Years for me to enjoy it. :)

See, we need people like you in Germany to make it a better place.
You learned our language in a ridiculous short time and you worked so hard to fit in. Just look how far you have come. Be proud of yourself! :)
PS: I really like cheese on my pickles (well, not really actually😝) :D

I'm German and I feel bad about what happened to you in your Au Pair family.
I don't think I could have been able to stay in Germany after such an experience.
Is there no Au Pair organisation overseeing this?
    This should be illegal.
You can be proud of yourself to have overcome this.

Your story is so similar to another YTber channel Amby Cakes, who vlogs about being a Californian living in Australia. Also a bumpy journey, but now she is expecting a baby, due in August, with her Australian guy and very happy. Good luck girl!

I’m glad you shared this back story, many people tend to forget the struggle or hide that side when living abroad. I joined the military solely because I wanted to travel and was not going to sign the dotted line unless I got Germany. Once i moved back after I got out of the Army things got real but I did have support from my ex. You’re a trooper. I think you come off and down to earth. I think people who feel intimated by you tend to say things like you are stuck up- I’ve gotten that in real life a lot. Macht weiter so!!! Hopefully I get to meet you at Oktoberfest this year when I move to Bayern.

This is actually amazing to hear. As someone who has just graduated and wanting to pack everything and leave, moving is my dream but a huge source of anxiety too. I've heard so many TH-camrs just get extremely lucky, who went to Germany with no plan and no job who somehow got by. But that's not everyone, and hearing your story really helps me. If you have any tips on how to budget in Germany, that would be amazing.

I didn't know any of these things. Particularly bad is the au pair family in Munich that kicked you out and told you to leave within four hours, after which you basically were homeless. What was this family thinking? This is so bad.

Congrats on three years in Germany! I lived in Karlsruhe from age 12-16 and I can say right around the three year mark is really when I started to figure things out and really embrace Germany. I have the best memories from those times and of course I was devastated when we had to come home to the states.

I always wanted to know if you had a degree what exactly you were doing in Germany. I don't have a degree and I struggle a lot too... Thanks for the honesty, some expats that only show how easily they adapt and how well they are doing and never show the ugly parts are just unrealistic. I also came here with a very closed mind and not wanting to learn the language, but Germany has changed me a lot and i feel the same as you, maybe in my home country I had an easier life, and could have finished my education... I still think moving made me grow in other aspects and I became a person that I like way better than the one before. I also always wanted to travel and life a full life. I grew up in a middle-class family where traveling was just impossible and something I could do only later in life and I don't regret it. I also like cheese on my pickles ;) Best of luck to you Hayley, you are the most charming and lovely person I know and I really enjoy your videos, you are really cute!

Hayley, you have ALWAYS recieved RESPECT AND LOVE from me, and you will ALWAYS get it.. I`ve always admired people who are brave and like to go againt the grain. Like you. Each person chooses how he or she wants or should be defined. Experiances make you stronger and better as a person. You learn as you get older and wiser. I for one, due to the family circumstances that brought me back to Germany, when I was 14, used to HATE this country with a passion for the longest time. But now, at 42, and after alll the storms that I stood thru in my life, AND ALSO thru your channel, I have been able to appreciate life in Deutschland a lot better these days. So.. thank you, Hayley,

As you were sharing your story, you painted this picture that I could see in my mind. Anyhow, I'm glad you shared your story because you let viewers know, life isn't going to be easy but if you are determined to move away and out of any environment that you don't feel like you fit it in, its time to GO! Today I saw this video and this makes me understand much better why you do what you do and what you have been through and how you talk about certain things. I am glad you live in my home country and you like it enough to stay for a while. I have also been to the US and I like that too. Minus a few things :-) Anyway, this video beats all of your "fun stuff" that I have seen so far. It is also very courageous, in a way, which makes you even more sympathetic. So I'd actually be curious to hear what your initial experience of Munich was like back when you were here the first time. And also, how you started looking at it in a more positive way. Probably a video that would attract people who want to misunderstand you, but hey, asking won't hurt 💝

Oh it was horrible and of course I found it to be beautiful and pretty, I was just unhappy and found it to be overwhelming. I could not speak the language and felt like I was failing at the language, did not have any friends so I associated loneliness with Munich. I guess once I was back in Florida and felt even more as an outsider I decided Munich was not so bad

Sie würde alles mitbringen, was man (frau) dazu braucht.

I found this really inspiring. I'm someone who is planning to finally move to Germany, a dream I've had for years now, and although I don't have the best financial position right now, I've organized my life enough to where I have a good not great budget to devote to the big move. It's really great that you've been able to make your life the way that you wanted. I also feel like I have a successful social life, but there is something still alienating about American society. Thanks for telling your story. It gave me reassurance that I'm doing this for the right reasons and I'm also looking forward to the similar challenges and growth that lie ahead of me.

Thank you for sharing!! Honestly if I could leave Germany (or at least the town I'm in) I probably would because it's not been a good match and it's taken me over a year and a half to have a stable situation and even now I don't have job security. But my situation is really complicated so I can't just up and leave for the foreseeable future.
All I can say (while staying private) is that there are definitely drawbacks to this country but that I also have specific circumstances so living in Germany is wildly different depending on your background and what/who you have to fall back on. I wish you luck!

Btw. I recently watched a documentary on families abusing their au pairs and basically treating them like slaves. Some of the workers from an au pair organization took care of such cases voluntarily. If you wanna do au pair: be extremely careful. You do not know the family you are going to work with and it is hard to fight for your rights when you don't know the language and culture.

Hayley from watching your videos I can tell that you have a lot of spirit and soul, and that's the main reason I watch them regularly - even though they are not targeted at people like me-. it's because they are so enjoyable, even when you talk about not-so-pleasant stuff. Of course being a German teacher, it's also interesting to me comparing your story to what other Ausländer have experienced living here. I will recommend your video channel to all my students from overseas. Just keep those videos coming. Alles Gute, Klaus

Und ich habe überhaupt kein Problem damit, wenn du private Dinge für dich behältst. ;)
Und ich kann deine ersten Erfahrungen mit Deutschland/München nachvollziehen, wenn man sich in's kalte Wasser stürzt wie du.

Amazing testimony!! Even though u probably didn’t intend for it to be. I relate to ur story because I moved from where I’m from in the states to achieve a dream and gave up on it and went back. I succumbed to the downside of things not progressing as fast as I thought. You stuck it out and now making vlogs of it. My interest in Germany brought me here cause America right now is not as free nor amazing to me.. I am puttin all my eggs in a basket to visit Germany 🇩🇪 in hopes of living there. THANK YOU!!! Wooow.... very interesting story, thank you Haley! You are such a beautiful person. And I don't understand how people can misperceive your character, but I can only think it's because of cultural differences. Anyways, the other day I stubbled across one of your 1000 videos for the first time & I loved it. You are so bubbly, play full, entertaining & informative in presenting your videos. I love it! This particular one here caught seriously my attention, just because I'm German living in America. My story is so similar in a way it's ridiculously scary... My point is I completely understand your intentions & what you went through. I am happy for you that u have mastered this at a young age totally on your own & inexperienced. What a courages young lady. Now look at you ! It feels so good to hear someone that understands cultural differences & the difficulties. Most of the people I'm around don't understand & they don't have a clue what it takes. The other thing is, Im actually not a TH-camr & I have never written a comment before :), but here I am writing an essay ....so much to your power.... lol :) Continue to be who you are & what you do. Much Love !!!

Honestly hearing you say that you do not regret your worst expierences and instead used them and learned from them just shows what an amazingly strong person you are. And how mature and wise these experieces made you. I can confirm this for you too. :) Truth: Just hearing you talk in your videos showed me how openminded, intelligent and witty you are and what a great sense of humor you have. You are not afraid to state your opinion yet do so in a very nice and openminded manner. I still can not get over why someone would call you the b word and mean it! I've never heard such bullshit.
