    Man,if I had this to learn on my PZ sport cub would probably look a whole lot better.I'm ready for another airplane,but am still learning,the cub needs to be hung up,but the smart thing would be to get this.My brother just got one for Christmas,maybe I will try his out.I also just saw this on display at my local hobby shop,and my son jumped on it and did pretty good for never flying.I'm very impressed with this,now if the smart thing happens,or if I will show my smarts again and buy a Timber,which I really like! My flying is getting better,maybe buy both! Thanks Chris!!

      I will fly my brothers RF8 sim soon.I am getting the flying down,but in getting to where I now am,the cub has taken a beating.Funny thing,I made my best real landing just a few flights ago with it not flying all that well.I really want to get to step 4 fast,so the sim will definitely help!

    The RF simulator is awesome... You can fly any day of the week, doesn't matter if it's day or night, good or bad weather and you can crash for free, lol. I think it's great for any aspiring rc pilot especially to help take the fear out of landings. From all the crash videos I watch, I think a lot of folks use their real rc planes to practice crashes.

    I've been given a copy of Phoenix 4 sim and a DX6i transmitter and it seems that the image of the plane fades quickly and it is hard to distinguish up from down or right from left but your video with your sim is so much BETTER ???

    • @Thercgeek
      @Thercgeek  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You know, I don't have any experience with the Phoenix sim. All of the sims will do that to some extent and that's part of the realism of it. When you're outside flying it's important to keep it within visual range. That said, on the sims they do get small quickly. On this sim, there's an option that allows you to see the airplane orientation in a separate widow.

    • @Thercgeek
      @Thercgeek  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah, I think all of that can be set in the settings. It's pretty good. The big thing is to use the sim to gain proficiency to develop good flying habits while you're getting instruction.

      I have both, the new one (RF) isn’t much difference other then a few HH models. (Timber and so on) If you have Phoenix don’t waste your money on the RF. Only my opinion! You’ll learn as much with the Phoenix.

    • @Thercgeek
      @Thercgeek  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't have any experience with Phoenix 5.5, so I can't really say. I would imagine it's similar. Not sure it would be necessary to upgrade unless you're looking for those Horizon Hobby airplanes. I think too with this one, you could use one of your spektrum Tx's.

    • @Thercgeek

    • @Thercgeek
      @Thercgeek  5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Can anyone tell me if the Timber on this sim flies even remotely close to the timber x. I've never flown the original timber so I don't know if it flies the same or a little less smooth or what. I absolutely love my Timber x but it's a cold wet February. I'll buy this sim just for that. I have RF 7.5 with interlink now and I love it.
    Is it worth buying the 8?
    or is there a plane in 7.5 that flies like the timber x?
    I've been trying them 1 at a time and haven't found one yet. there's a bunch.

    • @Thercgeek
      @Thercgeek  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly, I'm not sure the differences from 7.5 to 8 are huge for airplanes. Mostly just a larger selection of airplanes to include the Horizon stuff. There are some additional drone features too, but otherwise the game play I would guess is similar. The timber x was pretty fun in the sim, but I've not flown the actual model, so can't say how close it was. Seemed pretty nimble in the sim.

    • @Thercgeek
      @Thercgeek  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not familiar with the interlink, but I would assume the same functionality as RF7.5. The Tx that comes with the program has buttons for reset and making selections which the controllers from the previous versions did too.
