What's funny is that one of the cards leaving after this rotation hurts Chien Pao less than others due to how Chien Pao didn't need vip pass as much (half the time, I never even use it). Losing cross switcher sucks, but thanks to iron hands, that's not even really as much of an issue anymore. Then with the addition of buddy poffin, that actually makes pao stronger since it means some of the decks staples becomes easier to get without having to rely on it turn 1.
I love losing cross switcher. Makes it less likely that I won’t get my switch or gust. Instead of having to hold one card in hard and poke stop until I draw the next one
So thankful for your channel - randomly chose the deck just bases on ice flavor after 20 years not playing this card game and your talks are great - ty ty
I started with "paldea evolved" coz my kids started to like pokemon cards... As fan of the franchise I quickly got hooked, bought a couple of displays and suddenly I had a couple of chien-pao ex, bought the palkia league battle deck and since then I'm team chien-pao... Allthough gohldengo ex is looking fun and uses many cards I allready have in my chien-pao deck...
Gholdengo and Chien-Pao just faced off against each other in grand finals at Dortmund Regionals this past weekend. Chien-Pao won in miraculous fashion but both are great picks!
Thanks for the video. Which of the Chien Pao decks do you regard as most promising against Charizard? I'm a senior player and I expect Chard decks everywhere after rotation.
Kyogre is great because lots of people are running single prizers so it’s not likely that it will be the weakest Mon on the field. Kyogre can 1 shot Mew ex, all the ancient box Pokémon, it can kill any baby basic and stage 1 (that has a stage 2) so it’s nice to be able to snipe a gimmighoul or a pidgey
The meta is not electric or grass which is GREAT for me. I'm building a wet box deck. Lost box, but water type lol. Have a counter for zard decks too if people aren't prepared, should be fun.
As a new player to the game - is there an efficient way to build my first competitive deck? i.e. is there any pre-builts worth picking up that give me a good foundation to then go buy singles?
League Battle Decks are pre-constructed decks meant for competitive play. As of right now, Miraidon and Palkia are the two League Battle Decks out now that are legal for Standard format. However, if you can wait a month, the Gardevoir League Battle Deck is the best of the bunch and will be out by then. If you’re talking about Pokemon TCG Live, the battle pass decks are almost always the best new decks from each set. The Iron Crown deck from there is the foundation for multiple top-tier decks and Raging Bolt is not bad either. Even the 2024 starter decks that come with the game are incredibly strong and most only need a few tweaks to be top-tier.
I saw a handful of Japanese lists that had Iron Bundle in it. While it certainly is an interesting tech, the deck is really tight for space and I don’t think its ability or attack are doing enough most of the time to warrant inclusion in most lists.
Here’s a relatively recent one from Japan with 3 Baxcalibur and 3 Bibarel. limitlesstcg.com/decks/list/jp/6540 This recent one from Japan has Ditto limitlesstcg.com/decks/list/jp/6445
Which do you think is better now, and after rotation: Palkia/Rider or CP? I'm currently playing Palkia, but sometimes i have to use CP in that deck to hit the chunky mons in the meta. Suiting CP up with 3-4 energies each turn seems quite daunting and slow
Ice Rider doesn’t survive rotation, so scratch that. Palkia will see play post-rotation, but probably not as its own deck. It has a horrible time against Charizard, which is projecting to be the definitive best deck post-rotation. Palkia instead will be a solid supporter and secondary attacker in Chien-Pao and Gholdengo decks, both of which have one-shot potential on anything in the game.
This was recorded just before the end of Dortmund Regionals. Production lead times are such that I have to record some stuff before major events and I did not anticipate that Chien-Pao was going to win its first regional that weekend.
Zoroark VSTAR fell completely out of the international meta a while ago. It’s been used a handful of times in online tourneys, but it currently ranks as the 38th most played deck. Only 0.22% of players are using Zoroark VSTAR in tournament. It sees “a bit” more play in Japan. At the very least, I see top lists for it pop up on my Twitter from time-to-time. It won’t be high on my priority list to cover, but if there’s enough interesting to talk about Zoroark post-rotation, I’ll consider making a video for it.
battle VIP is the most annoying card. Never needed it. Cant wait to see how much easier things will be when every deck is forced to do run something else.
Never left the Chien Pao train 🚂 , Happy to see after Rotation still getting better 😝🤘🏼

Thanks for watching and welcome to the Pokemon TCG!
Nice, I'll check this video out after work! Hoping this deck gets better after rotation 🙏
😉
Awesome! Been waiting for this video. I've been consistently playing Chien-pao in PTCGL.
i think the Dynamic Wave Kyogre is really decent in our current meta with how popular mew ex and squawk are right now in turbo decks.
Finally my Chien Pao is getting recognition!
IM A CHIEN PAO BELIEVER
Desperately wanted cpao to get better again. I always had faith!

@@InThirdPerson I'm working on that... I alllready have 3 gohldengo ex... Most other cards I should have!🤔

I like the chain pao deck but unfortunately I don’t have Chie pao or radiant greninja

Hi, do you think Iron bundle could found his way in chien pao ? I think the card is strong but don't see anybody even considering it?

I wanted to see Baxcalibur and Bidoof/Bibarel go up to 3.
Also Where is Ditto?
Here’s a relatively recent one from Japan with 3 Baxcalibur and 3 Bibarel.
