We picked up this scale model aircraft on an amazing Christmas sale and decided to get it out again for you all to do a 4 month follow up flight. Since then, you all requested my wife Abby flies it, so ehre you go! The E-flite Piper Cherokee rc airplane features a 1.3m wingspan. It also has NAV lighting, flaps and a full-flying stab, plus 3-4S LiPo compatibility. This radio control plane sure surprised us!

Excellent video on this plane. I think it looks absolutely stunning as it passes by low. I couldn't do that. I would love to try but I think I would get confused with the switches etc lol I'm used to Drones. Nearly lol..yeah Good Job to you both and Amelia cheering you on in the background. I agree Scale Civilian planes are overlooked. I don't have the Cherokee but I do have the E-flite Cirrus which flies similarly. It can do basic loops, rolls, inverted and even hold a knife edge for awhile, but I most enjoy flying scale. It just looks so graceful. Makes me smile every time I take it up

I agree 100%. I bought this plane and I'm picking it up Tuesday from my local hobby shop. That's right you heard correctly, we still have an actual old time hobby shop. And your right. I fly a jet and everyone likes it and comments. I fly a plane like this and I may get a, "that's nice". You have to get aviation to appreciate a plane like this(or a J-3). It's either in your blood or not. I ordered this plane for a good solid and beautiful scale everyday flyer. The one you always bring to the field with the jet. Because when all else fails this bird will give a full day of excellent stick time. I researched the heck out of this plane and others from Eflite and this one won the pick. I plan to follow it up next with the RV-7. ;) Love your videos. You are both wonderful people.

I own a visual effects studio in Ventura Ca. Now that I'm 70 years old I don't get much movie work but I make products from my long career that collectors and fans buy that helps us keep our doors open. So I know well what you mean about the support from the viewers.

I have the great planes with a 46 os which has been one ot my favorite flyers, and I will be purchasing this cherokee 1.3 electric to add to my stable of aircraft. Thank you for putting this video review out, it looks great and seems to perform very scale like. Greg L
I also have about 30+ hours in the full scale cherokee 140 which used to have the nickname "spam can". Does anyone remember this? I flew mostly a cessna 172 and 182, but also have some time in a navaho twin, and piper comanche. I thought this would prepare me for rc aircraft "WRONG ASSUMPTION", crashed my first rc aircraft back in 1981, so I immediately joined a rc club, and got a rc instructor!! I am 72 now and have been flying rc aircraft ever since, I absolutely love. this hobby and highly recommend to anyone interested in flying rc aircraft that they join a club and learn under a flight instructor, it is well worth the time to learn correctly, and support your local club and definitely be a member of ama. I love the look and the red tips on the wings. I makes it easy to focus on the plane.
Outstanding flying, shes got it down pat! Nice bird! Fun factoid, most old school pipers had a funky flap system, they had a bar, like a parking break that would allow the pilot to raise and lower the flaps, talk about full hands. I prefer the cessna singles with the electric flap lever, its easier to concentrate on the traffic in the pattern. Props to Abb, good piloting!

I love this plane. Got it when it was released. I've loved it because it was my full scale trainer when I got my pilots license. Yes, I'm biased towards the Cherokee.
I appreciate your channel; it's uplifting and awesome to watch a young couple share a hobby like this with each other and also with others.
This is a sweet plane. I would fly it more often but the grass soccer fields are a bit too rough here. When the wind cooperates I can fly from a paved parking lot nearby. I highly recommend this Cherokee.

Lol at least the panic button works for you. Got my areoscout last week. Third flight I nose dived it into the ground in intermediate mode. 😂 looked like a foam explosion going off. Some hot glue and tape and she still fly’s like new. Did burn my finger glueing it together 🥺 didn’t see the small vent hole in the bottom of the nose. Can’t wait to fly again. Unfortunately here in NY it’s snowing with thirty mile an hour winds today 😒.

I love this plane so much! I did my flight training for my full scale pilot license on this plane 30 years ago. The RC version flys the same as the full scale one.

always love cherokees! they dont fly like other airplanes at all. ive had my great planes cherokee since 2010 and i still fly it with the same enya engine. landing it is a treat

I owned two of these planes a Cherokee 140 and a 180, take offs on the 180 were incredible. Cruising speed was about 110 mph for both planes but the lift on the wings was incredible for slow flight. This model seems to have very similar characteristics to the real thing, it looks beginner friendly and easy to fly. Stall speed was very low and you hardly knew you were in a stall it would fall straightforward visibility was great. I think I will buy one of these just to see if it is very similar to the real thing.

One of my first planes I flew was a Cherokee back in the 1980s I still have it, great flying plane.
I just picked up a Pawnee Brave the other day. It was flown mabe twice and put away. It definitely doesn't have the damage I tend to give them while flying. I see the Horizon Truck is very simular. The fact it has interior lights for night flying makes me excited. I have decided to upgrade the motor and put the 3 bladed prop back on it. I couldnt find the original 10x8 so I am going to a 11x7.5 and going from a 750kv to the Truck's 800 kv motor. Of course I am going to a larger 4 cell battery that was allowed in the original Pawnee and I think is standard in the Truck.
I call the silhouette pilot in the Sport Cub S Orville. I would call him Wilbur, but I knew an F-16 pilot whose call sign was Wilbur. You can probably guess his surname. :)

Excellent video, informative and entertaining, you guys are great. I learned to fly full scale airplanes in a Piper Cherokee Warrior, so this video brought back some memories. When you talked about safe mode, and showed how safe select put the plane right side up from inverted, it made me think you would enjoy one of my videos. We happened to be video recording one of my early flights with floats on my E-Flite Twin Otter. I accidentally left the flaps down while doing a loop, the plane stalled and went into a flap spin, I couldn't get it back, then remembered to flip the panic switch. Safe Select saved my new plane. Feel free to check it out on my channel. On the other hand, a few weeks later, safe mode caused a crash. I was doing some splash & dashes, the plane was in safe mode, on a nice long, stabile final approach and suddenly went out of control, I fought it, but, it wouldn't respond to the transmitter, there was a bad crash into trees. Later bench tests showed the control surfaces cycling full range when on safe mode, but, normal in normal mode. I didn't get that on video. The plane is patched together and flying nicely again. No more trouble from safe select, but, everytime I fly the otter I worry about it. Anyway, I enjoy your videos, your review of that huge Huskey caught my attention, I've been a subscriber ever since.

It was nasty and cold with Lake effect snow showers here tonight. I am totally over winter, too bad it isn't totally over here. I have a Minion that I put in my planes. Since I got the Pawnee Brave that looks like the Disney movie Planes, I believe I will name the pilot inside Dusty for the name of the plane.
RC Hobbyist Extreme same here! It’s either raining or 30mph winds! I haven’t flown in two months.
Get to run the cars at least, going to run them today. My friend has a section of jumps built into his backyard for us. I say backyard, it’s a 185 acre field his family owns and they let us build up a 1/2 acre for our toys.

I like the looks of the plane. The three landing gears handle landing im the grass great. I'm still new to flying, but this plane would be something that I would like for myself... eventually.
I ordered the V-TOL XK plane you guys reviewed a while back. It will be my first plane. I already know that I'll be getting more. I just need to get hooked in with the local flight clubs and find places where it would be safe for me to fly.

In the ham radio hobby, an 'Elmer' is an experienced one.. one who teaches the ropes to the newcomers :) Now guys, I may be wrong.. but it seems like Abby doesn't slip the plane as much in turns! In fact, she doesn't slip it at all. Right? Now folks.. maybe it's 'cause Nate flies and turns more aggressively. But maybe it's because... well, you know.. Abby is a better... um.. thank you guys! ;-)
