Not gonna lie, I honestly would have had no idea that Orion and D-16 were even the best of friends if not for watching Transformers One. I understand D-16's anger and frustration, to which causes him to be Megatron. If I spent my whole lifetime respecting someone who swore to me that I could trust them, only to learn that they were fooling me the whole time, I would be very enraged as well. I never cared for Sentinel Prime in the other incarnations of Transformers, but this movie just UNCONDITIONAL hatred for him. He deserved to get literally ripped apart towards the end.
In most continuities that I've watched/read, D-16 and Orion either had a mentor-student, a brotherly, or a friendship relationship. In TFP and in IDW he was a gladiator who took the name Megatronus and then later shortened it to Megatron near the starting tension of the war. Sentinel in other iterations that I've seen wasn't one of the original 13 and rather was a false prime in IDW, never actually having the Matrix and not being Optimus' predecessor (That title went to the tyrant Zeta Prime) and only assuming the title of prime by organizing the murder of Nominus Prime. In some other variations he is a real prime and the real predecessor to Optimus Prime. This movie kinda takes both of those and smashes them together.
This film did an amazing job at painting Megatron in a wholesome and sympathetic light. Which makes D's fall into villainy and his brotherhood with Oprion being destroyed all the more heartbreaking😢
Sentinel Prime is still the reason the Decepticons were born in the first place. It’s his own fault killed Megatronus Prime and for turning D-16 into Megatron
What D-16/Megatron did to Sentinel Prime is brutal by tearing up his body into pieces but to be honest he definately got what he deserved anyway since Sentinel Prime is the main antagonist of this movie. Although I don't blame D-16/Megatron for hating Sentinel Prime because he had always looked up to him until he learn the truth that Sentinel Prime was never really a hero in the first place.
I was understanding that d16 aka megatron he feel pain and lost to betrayed on optimus but it was sentinel prime's fault that he killed megatronus prime
The origin before the great war and the bonds between Orion and D-16 latter became Optimus Prime and Megatron the events between the Autobots and the Ruthless evil Decepticons
Sentinel enslaved everything which is ultimately a lie left the other cybertronian beings feel betrayed and cogless Alpha Trion told the truth and knew the Quintessasons could be trouble
Dispite the odds they stop Megatron as punishment Optimus Prime banished him the gang later became autobots as the ecosystem of energon flows again restoring cybertron
This isn’t from the bayverse or related to the bayverse if it was then how come in bayverse Optimus prime doesn’t get the matrix of leadership until later but in here it’s what turns him into optimus prime? Also the matrix of leadership here is different then the one in the bayverse

The matrix was first seen the bayverse in ROTF wea the first primes came to earth in the 17000 bc era and hid the parts of the matrix in pre ancient Egypt but it will reveal at the end of ROTF with sam witchicky been told by the first generation primes that the matrix was something that wasn't found but earned through pure leadership and a good willed heart to sacrifice the needs to others
